LD37 — One room

One room away from success by Gulyasarni66 2016-12-14T17:47:00

I liked the music a lot! The transitions between rooms were nice and I really enjoyed the mood overall!

DangerRoom by hermetic 2016-12-14T17:13:00

I think the game would benefit from an aiming reticle better visible than the mouse cursor, but other than that it was a really nice experience, with smooth gameplay and nice style.

the beuys are back in town by tylerdoggone 2016-12-14T02:39:00

It looks really good, reminds me of Gods will be watching.
I didn't manage to hug it though :(

Claustrophobia by jperlin 2016-12-14T02:11:00

@avalkyrie You're now officially the first stranger commenting on any game by me ever in history. I love you! Thanks

Claustrophobia by jperlin 2016-12-14T03:17:00

@KairosXIII Thanks so much :)

Claustrophobia by jperlin 2016-12-14T03:35:00

Aww guys! You made my day at its very end :)

Claustrophobia by jperlin 2016-12-14T17:51:00

Yeah I thought the jitter is on the edge of being readable, but the controls are in the description anyway and that jitter was consistent with the mood of the game.

You always spawn in the rooms with no enemies by design, so you don't get fucked before you have a chance to at least have a look at the character.

I realize the game is crazy difficult. I'm planning to work on the gameplay in the future - the lipsticks clearly need some love.

Thanks for the feedback. I love it!

Claustrophobia by jperlin 2016-12-21T18:42:00

@xesenix :)

@Greek85 Thanks for the interest, I don't think I'll put it anywhere else though, unless I spend more time making it better!

@Gyfis You use Enter to destroy walls between rooms :)

Claustrophobia by jperlin 2016-12-31T07:16:00

@TheMonsterFromTheDeep

Thanks for the kind words! The atmosphere is definitely the main focus of the game, at least in the state it's in here.

The combat defnitely does need some love. You probably got hurt by the lipsticks - any collision with one of them harms you. This makes attacking them successfully very difficult as you don't have any ranged attacks in this game. It is possible (the attack colliders are at the blades) but way too difficult.

I intend to work on the combat at least a little bit at some point to make this game more enjoyable gameplaywise, but it's pretty low on my list of priorities now honestly.

There's no escape ! by lyres 2017-01-02T19:03:00

The wall jump was really difficult to perform. And I got stuck on the fourth? puzzle I think... The one with "Oh no! Was I all wrong" text.
Congratulations on submitting a compo entry!

Laser Panic by ACCBDD 2016-12-14T02:37:00

I really enjoyed it! I like the idea of the laser "fences" that block the walls spawning as well as the turrets. And the controls feel good as well :)

Guardian by NegInfinity 2016-12-14T17:09:00

Really nice models and animations! As glitches go, I started gliding in the air after climbing the stairs!

Networking™ by erikiene 2017-01-02T18:56:00

I liked how the title screen made me completely unprepared for something like that! This game definitely stands out in a fun way :D And nice "environmental noises"!

Punchies by Sos 2016-12-14T03:01:00

The controls were a bit wonky, audio and graphics quite amazing for a compo game!

One Way Out by Broxxar 2016-12-14T17:35:00

The most beautiful game I found so far! I couldn't figure out what to do with the equations though :/ After over 10 minutes I gave up.

(found this many, spoilers: http://pastebin.com/pnHArTte)

Void Inc. by Erkberg 2016-12-26T02:32:00

The game is really really pretty for a compo entry!

Life As It Could Be by tommakesgames 2016-12-14T17:40:00

I like the style and I really enjoyed the map changing around you, and not all at once, but wall by wall... There wasn't much to the gameplay but it was still fun. I like the theme of running out of time and having to choose. And the dog (it was a dog, right?) slowing you down but being cute :)

Maze Frenzy by ZQMony 2016-12-14T03:27:00

I'm surprised I've never seen the idea of having to memorize a maze as fast as possible before! It's a really neat game and I definitely my favourite so far (after playing about 10 so far). Congratulations :)
The audio is also surprisingly pleasant even after a few minutes it still doesn't hurt which is the case for many compo games :D

Santa's little bin packer by thomz12 2017-01-02T11:35:00

Hey, this was BY FAR the most fun game I've played here. By far! Balancing between bringing the gifts to him and getting new gifts out of the input zone is a neat idea and I really like that they have different shapes so there's the tetris aspect. And also you want to minimize the amount you have to walk! So fun.

Stick Figure Animator [NOT A GAME] by thebmxeur 2016-12-26T02:39:00

Wow, I'm impressed you made this in 48hrs! Nice tool.

The Other Incidental Tumbler by Franklin's Ghost 2017-01-02T11:28:00

The drawing and the animations are STUNNING, 6/5 Graphics.

Treasure temple trouble by IcyLava 2016-12-14T18:10:00

Beat it in 44 deaths :) Had fun! Really nice game, super polished for a compo entry. I didn't love the controls too much - the special moves were really difficult to perform accurately but probably after more gameplay I would adjust :) One of two best games I played so far!

Dungeon 2.0 by TheMonsterFromTheDeep 2016-12-26T02:53:00

That was really fun! I wish there was a total score at the death screen :) And the lack of diagonal movement was annoying at first but I'm sure I would get used to it eventually. A very solid entry though!

Royal Rise (Online Multiplayer) by thebrickanator 2016-12-26T02:44:00

Woah, a multiplayer game? Nice! The first DL link worked fine for me and the game started up no problem. There was 1 opponent in the room but he hasn't moved. However the game was a really pleasant experience, the controls good enough, the graphics and especially the background music really soothing! Great job :)

A Single, Solitary Snail by SigmanZero 2016-12-26T03:04:00

Holy crap! I really like the weird mood of the game! Combat is a bit underwhelming but I like the "perk" system, i.e. choosing your loadout and with a bit more love and time I could see this being a really cool game!!! I have no idea why you got only 2 comments :( I really enjoyed checking it out!

The Sorting Room by Kryptarchy 2016-12-26T02:58:00

That is a really pretty game! I'm impressed. It's super difficult though! two mistakes and you can get cut off from half of the playing field! It is a really cool entry though! And the first game I rate 5/5 in innovation!

Killing Room by Leeman 2016-12-26T02:48:00

Yay got 99 points!

Smooth gameplay, nice music in the background... Good job

Inside The Box by illblew 2016-12-26T03:08:00

That was really confusing! I decided to end the suffering at the end :)

I'd be interested to learn what the red "E" in the corner was for! I didn't seem to be able to do anything with it.

One Roomba by KevinWorkman 2016-12-26T03:12:00

I really liked the controls! The game was genuinely fun. I managed to only die once, yay :)

Coincidence by Simple Ghost 2016-12-14T18:02:00

The game looks great!

The Singularity Room by lordrobotron 2016-12-14T03:34:00

Art is really nice! I'm sorry you ran out of time, it was still nice to play that one level though :)

Kitchen Wizard Pinball by quill18 2016-12-14T03:16:00

The game worked great for me, felt really well executed, I like the design of the table, both visually and gameplay-wise. Not a huge fan of pinball, but it was quite fun. Nicely done.

The Room in The Ocean by zoopei 2017-01-02T18:43:00

For such simple graphics the game looks quite nice! I really like the dirty glass look. There is also more gameplay mechanics to this game than almost any other I played here. Nicely done!

Neon no Nakama by SimonHutchinson 2017-01-02T18:51:00

What a beautiful aesthetic! It's really a pleasurable experience, although it's a shame there isn't at least a bit more to do than just walk slowly towards the goal. And when you managed to get the balls stuck behind a wall and walked far away, the balls could get so fast the collision system broke and I got half of them stuck outside of the playing field.

But I'm just pointing out the little problems, all in all it's one of the nicest experiences I've found this Ludum Dare! 5/5 in mood, graphics and audio for me! :)

Null Void by SuperPokeunicorn 2016-12-14T02:54:00

On Windows 8.1, I just double clicked the .jar file it downloaded and the game started.

I really liked it, the controls feel good and I like the enemies charging at you. It's nice how many different levels you can fit in such a small space. It felt like a really polished games for 48 hours of work. Nice!
