Wow, that was confusing, but interesting.

jperlin 2016-12-14 02:11

@avalkyrie You're now officially the first stranger commenting on any game by me ever in history. I love you! Thanks

kairosxiii 2016-12-14 03:12

Love the audio haha. Nice take on the theme.

jperlin 2016-12-14 03:17

@KairosXIII Thanks so much :)

shivur 2016-12-14 03:27

Psycho.

buddydoq 2016-12-14 03:30

Deep, dark, creepy, and hard as hell! Good job!

jperlin 2016-12-14 03:35

Aww guys! You made my day at its very end :)

nuclearcellar 2016-12-14 03:39

I feel like with that back story a much slower paced game would suit better. For a first game very good job though.

afinkyu_pheaky 2016-12-14 03:55

Audio was nice, and I like the character design.

pcmxms 2016-12-14 17:24

Definitely the most bizarre and creepy entry I've seen. Might have to work a little bit on the gameplay side.

menip 2016-12-14 17:29

...I always appear to spawn in a room with no enemies. Not sure if this is by design or not.

tutti-ankka 2016-12-14 17:29

What did I just play..? Well it was fun anyway! I liked the "soundtrack" and the weirdness of this game. It's very original atleast! Pretty weird and solid entry!

menip 2016-12-14 17:30

...I always appear to spawn in a room with no enemies. Not sure if this is by design or not. Oh and I found that jitter text really difficult to read, might wanna do something about it.

jperlin 2016-12-14 17:51

Yeah I thought the jitter is on the edge of being readable, but the controls are in the description anyway and that jitter was consistent with the mood of the game.

You always spawn in the rooms with no enemies by design, so you don't get fucked before you have a chance to at least have a look at the character.

I realize the game is crazy difficult. I'm planning to work on the gameplay in the future - the lipsticks clearly need some love.

Thanks for the feedback. I love it!

titomakanijr 2016-12-14 18:24

I'm down with any game where all the sound effects are done by a human mouth. In fact you have made me confront my weird love for that genre...... ANYWAYS! Great job on the game dood

peringo 2016-12-14 18:34

The controls are a bit weird but all in all it'sa very unique game! I have not really understood what I have to do except of hurting eyes and lipsticks. I liked the music and the design alot, fitting to the weirdnes of this game.

xesenix 2016-12-16 01:23

And i thought i have made bad game. You have made me bad at making bad games...

2016-12-16 10:05

oh! Nice! And it's also online! Is it an horror game?? Can I find it on indiexpo? I'm making videos about the games of this Jam, but only about the games hosted also on indiexpo! Tell me if you will add it, so I can include it in my next video ;)

gyfis 2016-12-16 19:40

Well, what a weird game. I don't know what to do and how to escape the first room, but it is pretty intense anyway. The sound is soooo weird :D

jperlin 2016-12-21 18:42

@xesenix :)

@Greek85 Thanks for the interest, I don't think I'll put it anywhere else though, unless I spend more time making it better!

@Gyfis You use Enter to destroy walls between rooms :)

jramell 2016-12-26 08:40

Great idea! It's all pretty cryptic and I was confused all the time, which took away from the experience for me. However, if this was intentional then good job. Audio and mood were (apparently) amazing.

nick-bota 2016-12-26 09:49

Very original idea! The creepy visuals, the strange sound effects paint a vivid picture that fits the mind of a person with mental problems. The game is HARD but i suppose it's a part of the experience and it's supposed to show how helpless this person is and how hard he struggles. In the end I loved the message of the game and it's vibe, keep it up!

patrickgh3 2016-12-26 17:33

I dig the soundtrack and creepy atmosphere, great job. The gameplay was fun, but the controls were a bit confusing.

themonsterfromthedeep 2016-12-30 08:52

The atmosphere in this game is really unique - it seems to me like somebody narrating their own adventure, with all their own music and sound effects. It's really cool.

However, I couldn't really understand how to attack - it seemed like whenever I tried I simply got hurt.

jperlin 2016-12-31 07:16

@TheMonsterFromTheDeep

Thanks for the kind words! The atmosphere is definitely the main focus of the game, at least in the state it's in here.

The combat defnitely does need some love. You probably got hurt by the lipsticks - any collision with one of them harms you. This makes attacking them successfully very difficult as you don't have any ranged attacks in this game. It is possible (the attack colliders are at the blades) but way too difficult.

I intend to work on the combat at least a little bit at some point to make this game more enjoyable gameplaywise, but it's pretty low on my list of priorities now honestly.

kato9 2016-12-31 20:12

Very interesting vibe - kind of a creepy look into someone's subconscious. Well someone with a few issues they need to work out anyway. Gameplay is a bit fast and hard to get the hang of how to attack without getting hit yourself, but it's a pretty solid entry overall.

simonhutchinson 2017-01-02 19:46

Whoa. Very cool and nicely put together aesthetic. I really like the audio concept (I should have been wearing headphones!)

The text jitters a bit to much for me, maybe a smidge less would help me understand what I'm doing!

zoopei 2017-01-03 00:44

WHAT... THE... F**K
The theme could have fit better, but it still fit. The sound effects where pretty wierd and the music was the three words I said at the top of this comment. However, the graphics where good and the concept was something like nothing I have never seen. It is really weird though... But I guess it's supposed to be. It's only your first ludum dare though, just like me.
