Hey I think you forgot to zip the file. I can't run it because it is only a .jar file.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD37 → Null Void

Hey I think you forgot to zip the file. I can't run it because it is only a .jar file.
runs fine on mac (OSX 19.9.5 at least)
:)
very responsive controls, nice difficulty
I found out that the jar file was a zip. I unzipped it and got a file with:
base folder
engine folder
game folder
meta-inf folder
org folder
sounds-images-level.json files
+ more jar files
The folders all had class files in them.
I looked at the jar archives and they had more class files too or files that weren't a game-launcher.
I saw the comment from wscones and thought why does it work for mac when it is made for windows/linux? Maybe it is a mac export not a windows/linux or maybe it works for all 3 and I still couldn't find it.
I got it to work! I typed "cd desktop" then "java -jar NullVoid.jar" into the command console and it played!
It feels like a small but full game with music, sfx, good sprites, and great level progression. It does feel like an older 8-bit game too and the level loader was cool and made it 1 room. Id say this is a good entry seeing how completed it is.
On Windows 8.1, I just double clicked the .jar file it downloaded and the game started.
I really liked it, the controls feel good and I like the enemies charging at you. It's nice how many different levels you can fit in such a small space. It felt like a really polished games for 48 hours of work. Nice!
Very enjoyable to play. Not exactly sure how this game goes along with the theme, but other than that I had a lot of fun playing this game.
Simple but well executed mechanics
I love it, the music, the graphics, the sounds and the gameplay, the controls respond very well, everything in general is good the game. good job.
That was a fun little platformer! I loved the enemies that charged the player.
I love the aesthetic and sound; I'm always a sucker for games that run in a tiny square window for whatever reason. Very good controls and creative level design.
Nice use of the theme! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/HllFgHUemY4
Funny game, but I feel you cheated the theme a bit :)
it was hard to get going. Didn't fit the theme, needed more to keep me engaged.
Greatgame, lots of fun to play. Controlsare super snappy and to the point, the idea overall is great and well executed, sound fits, escalating difficulty is just right...
Very impressive entry - especially, probably the best compo I have seen so far.
Cool game! The level design felt a bit unfair sometimes. It was cool how many features there were. Well done! :D
Amazing game! It's a neat platformer. I could learn a few things from your entry. I liked how you let the player choose difficulty through number of lives, something pretty easy to do. I didn't feel a lot of the theme, but it was really fun.
