Not bad! This is by far the most inebriated I've ever seen any ant be.

The game is pretty good at its core concept. There are a few hitches, namely the lack of sound and the level design. The level design in particular felt.. unfair. On the first level with the lilypads in the water, I climbed over the mushroom to the right, and then climbed up the wall and fell off the map. I restarted and went to the left and climbed over that mushroom and... off the map. It was only then that I saw the next level pad in the water.

If I were to make a recommendation, it would be to make sure that it feels fair for the player. If the player is at risk of spending 3-4 minutes wandering around or struggling to climb a certain obstacle, they should be able to feel rewarded when they make it. Something as simple as adding deadly spikes where you're not meant to be could fix that.

To paraphrase Rami Ismail, polish your game. If you make a gem, your first instinct shouldn't be to build a house around it. In this case, take maybe 2 or 3 levels and just focus on those.

Hope I wasn't too mean!^^

I actually laughed out loud when I saw how drunk the ant is, haha! I love its little ant legs flapping while it moves. The controls are really cool, they fit the theme and the fact that our ant sticks to surfaces relatively well really helps. Didn't find the level design or controls unfair at all. I'm actually quite impressed that you managed to make them work so well and intuitively in just 48 hours! Really a great job. Thanks for the fun.

Nice job. The sound felt a little dry. Some music or additional sound effects would have really brought this game to life. The controls got a little bit frustrating here and there, but that's partially because I'm just bad. I thought the way the ant flailed around was pretty funny. I like the overall idea, and the fact that the controls fit the ant's inebriated state is good. I also liked the paint-style art, and the initial dialogue about the ant. Nice work!

Ha! I can't believe I played that to the end, but it was super-compelling. Really nice work.

I love the sound design. It somehow fits in throwing around a ragdoll ant.

Nice job, this makes a good "comedy physics game" where most of the game consists of gawping at the ludicrous physics simulation. :) Nice job man.

I just get the feel of the golden flash era trail games with motocross, haha, Great job, at one level my head get stuck in the grass and I couldn't proceed but that's no problem :P, love the game.

santimod 2017-05-02 08:38

Hahaha, ragdoll ant killed me. really nice work. Controls feels good and, as well, nice use of the theme. Sound could have been better (i.e. some silly song at the background)

mewsoul 2017-05-02 17:49

Pretty surprising (in a nice) way of getting the theme done!

The concept is fun at the core, and with the ragdoll ant it goes nicely ^^

As someone pointed it before, I also had a problem to pass the first level with the lilypads, like trying to go all the way to right to end up going over the border and falling into the void. So I guess like doing some level design to make it impossible to go somewhere the player shouldn't go would be nice :)

I also felt it missed few sound effects, like one where you complete a level, etc...

In the end, that's a really original entry! :D

Loved this game! I thought the inebriated ant was hilarious, with the floppy rigid body and everything, but if you could've made the controls reflect him being drunk I think that would make it cooler.

I like how everything looks, I would suggest making sure you can't escape the map and fall into the void like on the first lillypad level, but overall it was a good looking, fun game. Good job! Excellent take on the theme!

Hey great entry! Surprisingly funny to play, on the rock tower I even clipped through the ground about an inch  which would have been bad if this wasn't a physics game. I liked what you did do with the sound, though obviously it felt kinda quiet. And wow there were a lot of varied levels, good job! The arrangement of the levels and plants/rocks and such seemed like it would have taken lots of attention. Truly eleg-*ant* (I'm sorry I had to)

quaternius 2017-05-02 23:57

Really nice idea, loved the ragdoll physics on the legs, overall really fun game :)

fiery-squirrel 2017-05-03 03:35

Very funny game! I laughed a lot. Also in the level where the goal is underwater, I was about to quit, I kinda wanted to kill the designer at that moment haha. Good graphics and the level design was also nice. I would just recommend having smoother transitions between levels and if you reach the goal, stop the ant or something like that, it felt weird to be able to keep moving if you reached the goal. Good game!

collin-shaddox 2017-05-03 03:38

Reminded me of Goat Simulator, in a good way

bajarymi 2017-05-03 03:39

Fun idea, fits the theme, controls are a little awkward, but I like it.

galan 2017-05-03 03:50

Solid wonky-physics game. Got some laughs out of it, and the physics were **just** wonky enough to make it funny, while still being very playable. The level design helped with that, too: it never seemed too difficult to complete.

Some better hints as to where to go might have made things even better, though. There were a couple points, the first water stage in particular, where I spent a bit too much time trying to go the wrong way. Some gentle signposting might have helped with that. Not that I was unable to complete the game without it.

This is the funniest game I've played on here yet! Actually did laugh out loud at times! I'd agree with other players who'd like more sound effects or music - but I guess you didn't have time for that. It was challenging in places - especially when you got stuck in the grass! It would be fun to see it expanded too. Nice work!

palemachine 2017-05-03 11:21

Yes, this is a nice physics-based kind of comedy game in the vein of Goat Simulator and Octodad! The whole premise is very funny. What's important is I think that the controls manage to strike a fine line where controlling the character is quite funny but also functional. The amount of levels you were able to design is also quite impressive. Good job!

cosine 2017-05-03 15:11

I won! I enjoyed it, it was fun (although at times frustrating - in a good way) to try to dodge left and right to climb the more complicated structures. While I liked the mechanic of sometimes needing to dive into the water, needing to guess whether to go left or right was rather frustrating. From the starting point, it was often impossible to determine which way it is. Some hints at that, perhaps, would make it feel less random.

Be honest... did his limbs come about as a bug? :) They're hilarious.

coderjoe 2017-05-04 04:25

Cool game! Played through the whole thing, surprising amount of levels for an LD game. The gameplay is fun although the water is a bit annoying. Good job!

wolar 2017-05-06 13:45

Cool ant "animation" :D I liked the way it played and the graphics. Overall it felt kinda easy, just keeping left arrow down and sometimes pressing the up one with some exceptions. And I've got stuck in that water level trying left and right but saying to myself "no not in the water, that would be nonsence".

tacomabert 2017-05-08 07:45

Pretty fun and funny game. Graphics are okay, and not too bad for a compo. Did not hear any sound effects, might be my Mac. Physics were frustrating at times, and I was not exactly sure what I was supposed to be doing the first time I played. Finally figured out the green shinning area was not hostile, and was able to beat the first level. I didn't like how easy it was to fall out of the world, but never die.

howardcs 2017-05-10 16:36

Kind of difficult to control, although I guess that's the point. Otherwise a good game and fun physics.

kappaix 2017-05-16 19:11

I think I enjoyed this a whole lot more than I should have! The flailing ant was very fun. I particularly liked the horizontal levels with water and the lillypads - and the levels with a lot of vertical obstacles - I found you can get a lot of momentum going. The areas to improve would be sound, graphics, etc - but I genuinely had fun and played till the end.

Well done, thanks for sharing!
