I LOVE this, but I feel like I ran out of things to do. Am I supposed to be able to interact with the balls?

I really like that you did procedural music for this game. Now I think that's going to be my goal for the next LD. I've used PD for that in a couple of my other games, but I haven't had the guts to go for it in 48 hours..... You've raised the bar, so game on.

agentparsec 2017-04-28 23:46

@simonhutchinson Yes, right click when you have electrons orbiting.

Very innovative, relaxing and peaceful to play, while feeling like it "means something," in terms of it feeling very based on semi-accurate subatomic physics, personified. The music and soft graphics contribute to the relaxing feel.

It's playable on its own, but if considering expanding it out to a full game, one direction would be to turn it into a "Brief History of Time" type physics educator... let us know you're gathering hydrogen first, then helium, on up to higher elements as you go through different levels, and in different environments where such elements are build.

Or you could go many other directions with it.

Very impressed you did this in 24 hours.

Amazing Game! Needs an objective or objective is not clear. Music is beautiful and the mood is really fun!

Thanks for dropping by my channel!

Very peacful! I really enjoying the ending, and the music was spectacular. I thought green friend was a little out of place. Maybe it was just his eyes.

Really nice job, though!

Pretty, surreal mood. Procedural music was interesting. The sparkle orbits were really satisfying to capture and change color, I wish there was more to do once you were pretty much done collecting them.

NOTE: I just fixed a bug that occasionally caused the game to become unbeatable. I had literally put a 2 where I should have put a 1; that's sometimes all it takes! Fixes uploaded.

Love the music and the mood! The end was very cool! :fire:

crazi456 2017-05-02 02:02

Loved the music. That ending was amazing! Great work

Really beautiful game, and really cute! Also, nice little surprise at the end! No criticisms come to mind at all, this was really nice. One suggestion though: before you have electrons around you, clicking should do something visual. Like maybe it should send a little pulse, even if its purely visual, so people know to try clicking again later! Played on stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/139473859 (starts at 1:29:47)

Really awesome game. I loved the feeling that more was happening as you turned the other atoms yellow. The progression to the reveal at the end was really well done. Awesome job and glad I got to play it! :)

Relaxing, beautiful game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation [video series](https://youtu.be/2umBRLlsy2g), if you’d like to take a look :)

This is a real "feel-good-game", it just feels... good! Amazing music, really cute and beautiful graphics and a fun game idea. It's really rare to come across a compo game that does everything so well. The amount of polish is also really high, Great job!

piotrek 2017-05-06 22:18

Very relaxing game. The ending was really original. Good job.

tobico 2017-05-07 03:34

Lovely game, the way the music and background both ramp up as you progress is excellent. The camera is also great, how it moves around to give you a good view of the direction you're moving in.

The only issue I had is that I got a bit stuck with the large circles. It would be good to have some kind of visual indicator when they're partially activated but need an additional hit.

omiya-games 2017-05-08 02:34

Got to the end reveal where...

**!!!Spoilers!!!**

It turns out the whole thing took place in a candle.

I *really* like what you've put together here! Oddly enough, I think I had more fun with the game not knowing what to do than with: it took me a while to figure out the mouse was the way to control the character, and the mouse button did anything. Nonetheless, the building music was a fantastic way to indicate the user progress was being made. The simplicity of the graphics really helped emphasize the clues on what you're supposed to do as well. Great job!

P.S. Hmm...maybe comments should have spoiler features.

Music is really apropriate to the global mood of the game. Very de-stressing game. Enjoyed it a lot. The fact you made it in 24H is impressive!

I have the feeling it miss some loosing conditions to made it replayable.

Well polished, great entry !

nedmakesgames 2017-05-09 23:04

Great game. Very relaxing, zen game. Music is the star, but I liked the art too. The world felt a bit empty but that might be the point. Great job!

shubham-gupta 2017-05-11 13:44

great game and music is fab

phi 2017-05-12 20:00

Great mood, nice atmospheric graphics and music, vaguely related to nuclear physics... :P I think the fact that you don't explain the objective at the beginning (if you could call it an objective...) really benefits the game. It's fun lies in discovering new things and features. Now, if you can keep up this constant discovery, this will be an awesome, relaxing, fun game. It does become repetitive and old quite quickly right now, but as a compo entry, it's very impressive, and it's a great start for something bigger (and less forced into a given theme). Really good job!

volkoivan 2017-05-12 20:03

THAT WAS TOTALLY COOL. At first I was going to say that it was a bad thing that you didnt know what to do, but then I did understand that it was cool- exploring the game and what you can do with it. The music felt really great and those increasing beats helped to feel that im doing good at progressing :D. Really good job and cool ending, man. 5/5

awesomealliterationalliance 2017-05-12 20:38

Excellent take on the theme. Nice conclusion at the end :) Took me a second before I realised what I had to do, but when I did, I really enjoyed the feedback the game gave me. How the audio and visuals progressively changed was quite atmospherical. The only thing that felt a bit out of place (in my opinion) was the art style of the player character. The green tone was a bit hard on the eyes compared to the rest of the game, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable to play!

sgstair 2017-05-19 10:51

This is one of the best examples of how to make something really compelling in an LD - There are very few, very simple elements, but they work together to make something that's impressively cohesive and well polished. Major kudos.
