Great concept! Not quite sure how much it fits the theme but thats fine, it stands on it's own. The particles and bloom together are so pretty and I found myself playing just to see more randomized splashes. I could see this game going far if the level(s) was corridors and rooms instead of a big flat square since a lot of the time I wasn't sure if I was moving and where I was going. Nice job and hope to see more of this!
Hey, I'm having trouble getting the html version to run, I don't think it's on my end, but I like the screenshot and would love to play in my browser.
Loved the mood. Dude, how do you make them shine like that? is it a plugin?
Very cool visuals and sound design! The game was pretty simplistic (I assume it keeps going forever?) but it was neat to hover around and watch the cube-collecting effects. The game seemed to be pretty heavy, though, and the sound started tearing pretty badly by level 4 or so. Good work, nonetheless!
Colorful and nice to look at! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/1t-6rdylBrI
@jupiter-hadley - Sweet! Thanks for playing! Looking forward to watching your journey through this LD's entrants.
Really nice sound effects and visual effects as well ... I like the neon vibe ... its kinda dark too which is cool
Innovative idea, I like the simplicity and audio, they create a nice atmosphere. I'm not sure what is being sacrificed though! Thanks for sharing!
Somehow you made black squares seem threatening. Good job!
Good - Amazing visuals - This would be such a good chillaxing game if not for the evil black boxes
Could be improved - Remove the black boxes and make this a purely chillaxing game - No sacrifice element
I always know I'm going to get visual + audio performance whenever I play your games. The collisions against the targets was super satisfying. Very good combination of sound, light, and shatter effect to create juiciness. Personally I've come to rely on screenshakes (probably too much) and I'll have to add some of your techniques to my toolbox. Hard for me to dissect the audio process you chose, but there seemed to be some dynamic audio that got peppered in there. I know you're an artist and you want people to have their own interpretations of your games, but I'd love to hear your thought process from going from the theme to what you came up with since it does seem pretty abstract and probably above my head.
The audio crescendo as the progression in the game was really fantastic. Superbly crafted. I would have liked the game to be a bit kinder so I could focus more on just building and building the music and not have to care too much about the enemies. A simple way to tweak that would have been if getting caught just sacrificed some of the music you had built up so that it no longer was perfectly amping up. Or just set you back some. Another thing would be that the game is in a rectangular shape (at least web) and the way the player positioning inside that box worked, when moving vertically there was very little time to react. And the fast blocky motion of the enemies made it so I had to move about much more carefully than the game otherwise felt like it wanted me to do. So making the player stay closer to the center of the screen on the vertical axis might help some, or make enemies less jumpy or jump shorter.
Nice visual effects, it would be nice if the character moves a little faster
Amazing graphics and sound! I think the game would be more fun if you could see the black cubes coming more easily. As is, the game is hard because the view you have of the playing field is so small.
Sometimes the black boxes spawn right in front of me and I can't avoid them. Thats a bit frustrating but as the levels are quite short it's not a big problem. Love the audio and the fancy cube hit animations!
