LD37 — One room

Live to Die Again by FisherG 2016-12-13T00:19:00

I really liked this game. It reminds me quite a bit of Hotline Miami actually, but it's not the same game, it's unique in its own way. The music really added to it and I also very much loved finding the swinging axe weapon :)

I actually think this is one of my favourite games so far, and it's such a simple one. I do agree with some of the other comments in that winning/losing conditions would go that bit further.

Elephant in "The Room" by xesenix 2016-12-12T22:50:00

This was a little bit surreal, I'm not exactly sure what was going on.

I spent an excessive length of time in this game, just trying to figure out if the numbers mean anything. I COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT and it's driving me insane. I tried all sorts of combinations with the phone and the door but couldn't get it.

Laser Panic by ACCBDD 2016-12-13T00:23:00

Pretty interesting concept, although I feel like it needs to be quite a bit more fast-paced, but that's just my opinion. If this was fast-paced rather than slow and floaty, I think it'd be a pretty arcade-y style game with friends challenging each other to beat each others' highscores.

One Broom by SbstnC 2016-12-14T23:03:00

Really interesting concept actually, and it was kind of fun to keep playing. I feel like it could have been a bit closer to the theme, but all-in-all it wasn't bad. Also, I know you opted out of the theme category, so the theme won't affect any of my ratings don't worry :)

Production Room by Wevel 2016-12-12T23:19:00

Pretty interesting game but I agree with some of the other comments that it's really slow to make money and that some of the stuff is a bit unexplained. Overall though pretty interesting.

Unfinished: A-OK Heist by DragonFyZex 2016-12-12T23:49:00

It's just a shame you didn't get the game finished, it's great that you learned stuff while working on it though, and I hope you take part in the next Ludum Dare too!

Sleep Well by vini60 2016-12-12T22:45:00

This was a pretty fun game. There's a bug where if you activate the flashlight during a round change, it lights the entire room, and during the next round, 'activating' the flash light actually creates a black area.

Room One by BlackQuiltro 2016-12-14T23:57:00

The game crashed after about 3 or 4 minutes of playtime, but it's an interesting game. It's a bit unintuitive to perform actions though, but at the same time, it's still an interesting idea.

Hitlers Cactus or only you can stop Trump by stupidmindlessf 2016-12-14T22:52:00

This was a pretty interesting game even though I ended up not being able to change anything.

"But the future refused to change"

I have to say, I've definitely heard this music before, so I would probably recommend opting out of the Audio category. But other than that, good ratings all around. And you pulled it off without even leaving that one room.

The mechanics are supposed to be that you can construct various things from others. For example you can make Water from two Hydrogens and one Oxygen, you can make Soil from two Oxygens, one Silicon, and one Aluminium.

The method of crafting (where you press a number to do a predefined recipe) is definitely not what I had intended for the game, but I didn't have enough time to do something better. I can't do this for the LD37 version of the game, but what I want to do is have a list of recipes that are 'known' from the items you've seen already, but the output would be unknown. So you would know you can make something but not what it'll make, and then once you've made it, you would now have "seen" that item too, and be able to make more stuff.

I have plans for interactions with items, for example, like eating Food, drinking Water (maybe...), using a Computer, etc. I also have a bunch of plans for how multiplayer would work in this game, but again this will all take time to implement.

The Shifting Room by Max Amaden 2016-12-12T23:37:00

This has been one of my favourite games as of yet. The mood is perfectly executed and gives me chills. It's such a simple concept and yet it's very alluring and completely drew me in while I was playing it. Also I know I'm not supposed to be judging based on music but the vinyl really added a special something to the atmosphere that I don't think could have been done without it. Great job!
