Nice one, interesting idea, but game was crashed after 2 min playing(

I really like the concept! Switching between was challenging and fun to have to plan it out. The interface could use some work to make it quicker to switch/move/aim the squad. Maybe keyboard shortcuts? Keep it up!

That game is definitely not easy, but I like it. Great job !

Stylish and cool, will you work on it some more postjam? I'm also a fan of the suggestion for keyboard shortcuts for the squad members.

The game crashed after about 3 or 4 minutes of playtime, but it's an interesting game. It's a bit unintuitive to perform actions though, but at the same time, it's still an interesting idea.

I always loved playing tower defense games and this one had a very innovative idea compared to those I used to play as a child.

Great one !

Graphics and music - Very cool and fitting!
Theme - hell yes :D
Fun - I enjoyed it from the first minute till the last one even though I thought I screwed up in the beginning :D

The controls seem more fit for a turn-based game, it's a little hard to control the players in realtime! Also, I won the game when the upload was only 97%, am I just that good?

Hard but funny

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment ?
I intend to polish the concept and perhaps making a larger game out of it.

I really like the idea, but didn't feel to compelled to actually move around, I just set my guys up to cover the entrances and they instantly spammed down anyone entering.

Since you're looking to take the concept further, I'd advise going with a tactical pause mechanic similar to FTL and more strategic gameplay, with i.e more entrances, different weapon types to use versus different mooks etc. Good job and good luck!

This game needs a *lot* of work on it's first impression, so I'd focus the polish there first, either by adding a tutorial, or by increasing the feedback that players have on how to control the squad.

This game meshes realtime gameplay with controls that feel like they belong in a turn based game. The enemy spawn rates are not tuned to allow for learning these controls without dying 3 times. My squad also feels rather dim witted when they won't turn around to shoot what is shooting them.

I'd make the vision cones of the squad always visible, and I'd widen them up a bit. I'd also add a little feedback when your mouse hovers over a squad member, to help indicate that they might be clickable.

I've also had the game crash multiple times, that will need to be cleaned up a bit.

The audio also needs to re-mixed a bit, either to make the lasers less loud.

The game could be interesting as a top-down shooter that focuses on juggling 3 teammates, but I'd like to have the idle AI be a little smarter about what it does when I'm not controlling it.

Good game idea and interesting gameplay! Please add improved graphics solution and more gameplay features!

stevenjmiller 2016-12-19 06:19

Good game, I beat it on my second try. I think the controls may have worked better if it was turn-based, but the game was still very fun and engaging.

hamsternator 2016-12-19 18:19

I find it really interesting that you're using a game mechanic that's usually used in turn based games and used it for real time battles. The controls are a bit tricky though when you only have the mouse to control everything with.

With some keyboard shortcuts and slight control tweaks I think this game could grow quite a bit =)

dynamic-panic-studios 2016-12-19 19:52

Had the same issues as others with the game crashing after a bit of play. Aside from that, some of my guys would automatically attack, the other wouldn't. Never felt like the upload was in danger even with crowds swarming.

nightshadow0 2016-12-31 15:54

Fun game, can get really frenetic though, can't help but think it might've been better as a turn-based game. I won with the upload at 97%, not sure if that's a bug.
The music's pretty fun, but the sound effects can get really annoying when you have multiple characters firing at the same time.
Nice work!

At first I thought this game was pretty weak, but after playing it a couple of times, it's actually quite fun. I'd love to play it more in a more polished form.
