I liked it. Feels like some kind of board game. Could have used some extra strategy elements but this is a good entry for the 48h comp ^^
It's an interesting concept but the gameplay would probably benefit more if it handled the combat closer to Punch Out rather than a dancing rythm game. Still, the concept is good but needs to be tweaked a bit =)
This became a lot more engaging than I thought it would =)
It would be good if there was something to make it clearer in which area an item needs to be in order to correspond to a certain customer. Still, this reminds me of my favourite mini-game in Backpacker 2. The fruit/fish sorting mini-game =D
Nice spin on the classic "whack a mole" =)
Could probably use something to make the background more interesting.
Btw, 741 points =D
This is really impressive. Sure it got some rough edges but this is way better than I expect from a 3D action game made in 48 hours. Really nice interpretation of the theme =)
I like this, even though fart jokes isn't my thing =)
The controls are good and the farting does have it's gameplay functionality, but I would've liked to see some kind of instructions on what to do next.
This is a cool concept, but I think a game like this would profit more from a "isometric"-style viewpoint. Anyhow, this game is great and I'd love to see this idea expand into something bigger =)
I really enjoyed this. A simple action/gardening game that feels like an 80's arcade game. With some nice music, tweaks for the stats (they are kind of hard to spot) and some overall polish this would be a pretty decent game =)
This is awesome =D
Really well done classic gameplay and I absolutely love both art styles. I found it kinda weird though that I almost got dehydrated in the initial aquarium because I didn't bash my way out of it immediately '^^
Impressive variation with the enemies and that final boss thingie =)
Would have been good to have some clearer audio feedback when it's time to reload and something extra to the gunplay wouldn't hurt either.
I sort of wish this was a full fledged game. Digging up graves in search of notes felt like a dark version of Gone Home.
Simple but effective plattformer. Great idea to let the lamp act as a timer and visual aid. I am impressed =)
You managed to capture that underwater feeling pretty well with small resources and I really liked that. It's a shame there's absolutely no sound though. That would add a lot to the experience.
Cool concept, but as others have stated the lack of solid gameplay makes this pretty but lacking in fun factor.
It's like some kind of action version of Pipe Dream, and I love it =D An "upgraded" version with simulated water would be really neat and present some interesting puzzle challenges. One of the best games I've had the pleasure to try out during this LD-event ^^
The music could be a little quieter though. Started of nice and after a few moments MY SPEAKERS SCREAM AT ME!!!
Since I can lower my speakers it's not a biggie, but I felt I had to mention something to improve upon ^^
ZerOXoL are you trying to run the game or open the project files, and what OS are you using? Unfortunately I have no opportunity to actually test the Mac and Linux versions so I'm sort of hoping that the exporter did what it's supposed to do for those versions =)
Funny mechanics, although if you plan on doing something more with this project you should do something about the ability to cheat by standing on the block that you move =)
This is great. Maybe with some extra powerups of some sort this could become a pretty memorable puzzle game.
To play as a monster but be forced to control your own urges to devour everything in order to not run out of food... brilliant! With some nice sound effects and a prettier monster this could be something special =)
I'm really impressed that you included a tutorial. I'm guessing most people would skip it due to the time constraint =)
A classic concept =)
It was a nice touch to add the planets the player reached while playing.
This is way harder than I thought it would be =D
With a bit of spooky ambience and some way to run from the spooky things this would hit the jackpot for me =)
Very literal interpretation of the theme ^^
Those controls need some extra TLC to work properly and for some reason I didn't drop the artifacts when I fell off the edge, but I did play to the end so there's something to be had here =)
Very interesting game, even in the unpolished state a development time of 48h brings ^^
This game certainly has potential to become something more if given some extra time in development =)
I'm really impressed. Did not expect to get sucked into this storyline the way that I did. Great writing and excellent humour. Would definitely not mind playing an expanded version of this ^^
These controls were pretty cool. To actually use sinus curves as a way to control two characters simultaneously... brilliant!
This is a really interesting concept. It's a shame there aren't more levels in this version but what could one expect with such a tight development window.
Well done =)
Pretty intense space shooter. I liked it, but I wouldn't mind knowing why I kept shooting at everything '^^
Really solid controls =)
A well made entry, but a little bit too basic in the gameplay department =)
Clever use of the theme, but the targets were a bit too small to be fired upon accurately with the speed you were forceed to have as the player. Still, a really fun game even in this unpolished stage =)
I like these slow expanding world/population kind of games. Although it wouldn't hurt with a few more things for the player to do. Maybe some direct interaction with the people would make things a bit more interesting =)
Awesome game. Some sort of radar would have been nice but this is so far the most entertaining game I've tried during LD30.
This was a lot more fun than I initially thought it would be. I guess the risk of shooting survivors if I didn't carefully aim added a lot to the gameplay. Would have liked to see some way to move survivors who wanted to hug the cannon for some reason. Shooting them in the face worked, but it seemed counter productive '^^
I'm really impressed that you managed to create a decent RTS in 48h, with a campaign nonetheless! =D
I really like this concept. A shame that it doesn't contain anything more at this stage. Keep it up ^^
This is beautiful. A short story told through the best means possible. I definitely felt something =)
Without any set of rules this game looses most of it's potential. Start by adding a loose condition and then see if you can find some way to make the gameplay a bit more exciting =)
Really tricky to get used to the mechanics, but when you do it's a really interesting concept =)
Some areas still felt a wee bit too hard but with enough stubborness you can get past them.
Nice ending as well =)
Wow, just wow. Are you sure you made this yourself in 48h? Because this was really awesome =D
This game is way more polished than I expect a compo entry to be ^^
A solid puzzle game. I'd say it's a bit tight with the antidote duration but I'm perfectly fine with letting that slide since the puzzles themselves are nicely balanced =)
I love the cube grass. So bloody adorable =D
Other than that I must say that the controls were too sluggish for my taste and the bread launcher probably should have a bit more "umph" in it.
That grass needs to be used in more projects though ^^
I'd say that it's a bit too hard to catch even a single unicorn '^^
I love the use of the theme though and I think this game could be improved just by enlarging the play area so it's possible to turn after you catch the unicorns =)
Really impressive work. I guess Capsule wasn't a fluke =)
Great elevator puzzle. Made me feel like a genuine genius when I figured it out ^^
A shame that it's so short, as in I'd want to keep playing for longer =)
This thing is hard XD
I'd suggest placing the bird a little further to the left since you need some time to react to what's coming. The up/down movement seemed way to harsh to me at first, but I can kind of see the appeal to that now.
Fun entry =)
This surprised the stuffing out of me =D
I love the "weapon" and the mechanics that come with it. This is currently the most innovative and best use of the theme that I've seen in this LD.
Very well made =)
It took me a little time to understand that I needed to collect the floaty dot thingies to open the doors, but that's about the only flaw I could find in the presentation or in the game overall.
Enjoyed this a lot =D
@stevenlr I like childish =)
Thanks for the kind words y'all ^^
@Gaeel
For some reason the web version works better in the way that the energy orbs are placed on separate locations around the fairy. You need three orbs to summon a monster =)
The villagers will only change paths if they're scared enough and have reached a branching path.
@colludium
If the monsters aren't eating the villagers... what are they doing? O_o
@Fenaer
You sure they didn't use one of the different paths lower on the map?
Thanks again for the kind words =)
I understand that some parts are confusing. Some gameplay elements I hade planned didn't make it in the submitted version and others spawned through the need to complete this quickly.
Still, I learned plenty of new tricks that I can use for other projects in the future =)
Thanks ^^
The game does indeed need more feedback and visual ques for the player. The amount of new tricks I poured into this did grant the side effect of me not having a clue about how I should fix some details that didn't behave as planned. And no... it is likely not possible to turn that first human into a victim. That's really poor game balance from my part, but something I had to ignore because of the time constraints.
I'm glad you enjoyed the stream. I've never developed anything and streamed at the same time before so that was an interesting experience for me as well ^^
I liked it, but I think it would work better with mouse controls. By using the arrow keys you limit the speed in which the player is able to move, and possible stress related planet bombardment will not reach it's peak because of this.
Quite enjoyable nontheless =)
Managed to beat all levels. That I actually wanted to beat all the levels says something about this game ^^
Were a bit too easy to cheat on some of the earlier levels with shortcuts though =)
Now this was certainly a clever use of unconventional weapons '^^
Could use a bit of tweaking mechanically to make the experience last longer but I did enjoy myself while it lasted. Did not expect the impossible level to actually be... impossible. Well played =D
Fancy text adventure. The biggest issue is the grammar and spelling but I guess you already knew that. An interesting little story and it's always nice with stories with multiple paths =)
Well... uhm... this is certainly an interesting interpretation of the theme '^^
Realised that I'm not much of a dual wielder.
I did not expect to see a fighting game from a LD Compo. Really impressive work =)
Super impressed by the design. To use puzzle mechanics combined with that arcade style slicing thing, brilliant. You sir have earned my first 5 star rating for this LD =)
I like the idea of not having regular health bars for the critters in a TD game, but three steps in the process might be too much, maybe that's just me though.
It seems I can't lose health either, even though I don't clean the cats properly.
Congratulations on your first LD by the way =)
Bubbles and ninjas. What's not to like? Too bad you didn't have more time to polish this though =)
Super beautiful and awesome setting ^^
It's a shame you don't have any sound though. The controls are a little bit wonky, but that's to be expected from a web release.
Would be nice to see an expanded release with a few more levels, sound and as a desktop application so the controls get better ^^
A pleasant game, but I wish there were some kind of win/lose condition. The movements could use some tweaking since the gameplay really doesn't suit the tank-style controls.
Cute bunnies though =)
Enjoyable game =)
Interesting twist on the snake-formula with the limited movement but it did make the game more interesting. Well done =)
This is an excellent first comp. The silly humor is right up my alley and the gameplay makes perfect sense... in this particular context.
Would be nice to have some sort of radar so you know where people are, but it was a minor issue. This game brought a big smile to my face. Well done =D
This was so much fun! =D
Really enjoyed playing it.
I like it. Was an interesting experience trying to escape in this "special" text adventure ^^
The ending I got felt a little sloppy though. I might try again to see if there are more =)
If I didn't trust you (which I do) I'd have a hard time believing that you made this in 48 hours ^^
I am super impressed =D
How do you people manage to draw all those things in such little time!? Witchcraft I say!
This is awesome and it blows my mind that it's a compo entry.
Nice idea but needs more polish =)
The player needs some alternative way of avoiding the spikes since it's pretty easy to come into situations you can't beat.
This is such a cool concept =D
Got really stressfull after a while and I totally wish I had more hands and ways of input ^^
Made me laugh and feel really bad about myself at the same time. Good job =D
This is the coolest thing! =D
Creating a game based on community shadow puppets sharing and giving it a "plausible" setup, genius!
This was pretty fun. Personally I think the player gained a little too little speed from ramming cars but that's a minor and personal preference thing =)
I did however find it a little bit sensitive in the controls and I kept changing two lanes a lot when I only wanted to move one. Maybe it works better on mobile, I don't know.
Very pleasing visuals =)
Would've liked to have some way of making sharper turns though. Felt really satisfying to crash into people ^^
Played like a trickier version of Super Mega Worm. Nice =D
The simple controls worked really well. I'm happy I played this =)
Interesting game. Wouldn't mind som faster animation speeds though. It's a bit slow for me =)
A bit too many collision issues for a platformer but I did feel the need to finish it, so you clearly hit that spot =)
@Geckoo1337: I hope you mean "horrible" as in really dark and not crappy '^^
Thank you all for the kind words =D
I wanted to have some more and deeper management mechanics but unfortunately I'm not one of those wonder devs here on LD that manage to get weeks amount of work done in two days (Seriously, how do they do it!?). This is the first time that I've really considered to restart an LD-project outside the event and thanks to all of you nice feedback I might have the courage to do so ^^
Feels perfect for tablets =)
I really liked the timed mode but I think it would be good if the archs the flies follow would differ in heights a bit. As it is the arcade mode gets pretty easy if you stay upp high and only go left and right.
Super cute and charming presentation, but not quite sure I agree with the frog being a monster ;)
Not bad for a first game, but unfortunately the colission detection seems to have some issues if you're landing on multiple people at the same time.
Good luck with your continued devving =D
Good idea, it just needs a bit of polish =)
Could use a few special units with new abilities so there's some extra strategy involved.
Cute game, but I wouldn't mind some explanations for what some stuff means. Some things were a little unclear, like the cookie counter at each computer =)
Shame it wasn't arcade style with a highscore system. I wanted to see how far I could go... and then it ended :(
Had fun while it lasted though =D
SERIOUSLY!? How did you manage to make this in such a short time!? I'm super impressed! Not only were the graphics great, but the controls and gameplay were really solid.
If I had to point out anything it would be that I didn't feel like "the monster". I mean, I can clearly see that you play as a skeleton, but the other creatures felt evil...er. Like we played a righteous skeleton ^^
Would defend my grave after death again.
Why does the monster get sad? Now I'm sad too :'(
So hard, but it's super fun =D
Super cute cat and pretty spooky mood. You did a great job =D
Interesting take on the theme and clever use of it too ^^
The one thing that bothered me a bit was that the boat was way too slow for my taste without the speed boost.
Good entry =)
Very pretty to look at. Would be really nice with deeper mechanics =)
85 kills ^^
Interesting interpretation of the theme, but I found the ending to be counter productive. When I found the last note I was all like "oh my... you poor thing" and then I entered the exit and now I get a screen that says everything is A-OK. Maybe it got to do with my personal interprenation but I think the ending should be a bit more on the sad side.
Great mood =)
This game raises so many questions, and I like pondering on them ^^
You got some really solid platforming going on here. Shame that the game doesn't really take advantage of that in any way =(
Would be more interesting if the humans were an actual threat in some way.
DADDYYYYY!!! =D
I felt so bad for the little fellas '^^
Clever puzzles and adorable graphics.
I like your interpretation of the theme ^^
Wish there was a timer or something though since you had no reason to rush anything and accidently hit the mines. I would like something that made getting a highscore a challenge =)
Loved the mines sound effects =D
Very nice point and click game =D
I wish it was clearer what objects you could interact with and what you couldn't at the moment. Took me a bit before I realised the different colors on the little pointer things =)
Really nice jam entry ^^
Not sure why the head shakes up and down like that. Seems a bit strange.
Classic arcade action, but I think there should be a bit more play area above the player for when the Jörmungandr grows around the pillar =)
Not my kind of humor. It could use some more visual feedback on hits and when collecting powerups =)
Bonus points for being super meta ^^
Really liked it, but I feel like maybe the playing time on one round is a little short. I mean, 48h goes by really fast when you're aiming for a LD Compo deadline, but maybe not quite that fast ^^
Congrats on completing your fist LD compo entry :D
A pretty good one at that ^^
The controls are tricky to use but work pretty well once you get into it. The biggest flaw currently in my opinion is the one hit restriction (as mentioned by others). It's a pretty fast moving game but also really punishing when you make smaller mistakes. In my humble opinion you should always (within reason) allow the player to make a comeback =)
Enjoyed this a lot though. Hope you'll come back for the next LD ^^
Really solid puzzle game =)
The only nitpicky thing I feel I need to point out is that the obstacles seems pretty random in the way they work. I can't be sure beforehand where the ball is likely to bounce when it hits them and that seems pretty strange for a puzzle game.
Really liked it though and kinda regret that I didn't try the Android version since that seems like the most fitting way to play this.
I really enjoyed that there wasn't any standard economy but instead limited amount of cannons. I sucked pretty bad at it though and lost at wave 8 =(
Wouldn't mind seeing this grow a little bit ^^
This game is kind of evil... in the right kind of way ^^
Super curious about the ambient sound though. Did you like... hang the microphone outside the window for a while or something? Very fascinating ambiance nontheless =)
Kind of weird puzzles, but I'll roll with it ^^
A shame that it wasn't longer cause I do enjoy escape room kind of puzzle games =)
I really like the concept of the game. Easy controls and simple but logical mechanics. The biggest drawback is the quite small room, because after playing for a little bit you start to go around in the same circle over and over again.
Would Roomba again ^^
Very impressive entry. Did not expect to be cleaning toilets this holiday, but here I am ^^
Would have liked to have some sort of break between levels. Sure, the ending animation is long enough for a break, but I'd rather be able to choose when I start the next level. Sometimes you need a toilet break you know =)
I like puzzles ^^
Didn't quite understand some of the notes though so had to run around and see what I could interact with. The timer seemed a bit short considering how many tasks you have to do but maybe I'm just not that good with puzzles =)
I have nothing to add. Great entry with an amazing amount of polish. Had to check twice to confirm that this was a compo entry =)
Very well done.
Interesting game but the result screen disappeared way too fast for me to actually read what it said. Got some unfortunate clipping issues with the text but considering the kind of game this is I would be surprised if everything worked perfectly in such a short amount of time =)
I assume you've played "The Westport Independent"? If you haven't I recommend that you do. It's pretty close to what you've made =)
Interesting concept. Can't say I quite understood why I lost though '^^
I guess I got hungry, but I can't see how I would know what needs I needed to focus on. If there was something in the UI that told me, then I completely missed it =)
Yay! Platformer puzzles ^^
A shame there's no sound or music, but that level transitioning is just utterly beautiful. Very well done =)
Unfortunately the game crashes for me every single time I try to finish that first level where you have to pass the laser, so I don't know what mechanics you would have shown after that =(
Would be super cool though if there were levels that used the level transitioning as part of the puzzle though.
Well this was unexpectedly creepy. I feel like this game is trying to tell me something, but I can't quite work out what that would be. Would have liked to see a few more interaction possibilities. Maybe I missed them?
I find it really interesting that you're using a game mechanic that's usually used in turn based games and used it for real time battles. The controls are a bit tricky though when you only have the mouse to control everything with.
With some keyboard shortcuts and slight control tweaks I think this game could grow quite a bit =)
Really interesting action puzzle. It could use some tiny explanations in the beginning on the mechanics and later on newer mechanics, but this could definitely grow into something quite solid =)
I like the concept, but the difficulty scaling is a bit too slow. Takes a pretty long time before it actually becomes challenging.
I am impressed =)
Simple concept but the music and the narrative really helped to enhance the mood. Got way more emotionally invested than I anticipated at the end ^^
It's definitely cute ^^
I think the choice of using reacing controls for the mouse is interesting, but may I suggest using a traditional 8-way control scheme instead. Still, I do like that you experimented a bit and didn't choose obvious methods. It gives the game some extra character =)
Well done ^^
Not quite sure why I slaughtered all the pandas, but I had a blast doing it ^^
The gameplay might be a little bit too fast for any precision gameplay but at least the amount of health allowed for some mistakes. Really nice entry =)
Really cool racing game, especially considering it's a compo entry. It's pretty hard to stay on track but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Ignoring some minor bugs I'd say that the biggest flaw this game has is that it doesn't feel like I'm racing in a room since the track covers most of it all the time. Most of the time it feels like I'm racing on a futuristic track inspired by F-zero rather than a toy track.
Would smash my car into the wall again ^^
It doesn't look like much but it's surprisingly fun to play ^^
Managed to get 12 points but that was really hard. Could probably have used a little tweak on the difficulty curve but it's really fun to play already. Good job =)
