Nice little game, has an old school arcade vibe to it. Is there any way to defeat the turrets? Or is it just "survive as long as you can?".

This was a pretty fun game overall. I think I got 4 of the arrow spitting dudes going at once and there were quite a few bullets on screen. The deflections of the bullets was a little weird though, a lot of them just ended up spinning in circles after they hit the shield as opposed to deflecting straight like I would have expected. I kept finding myself hitting the left and right arrows to move the shield too, rather than up and down... maybe would have been good to have both bound to that? The UI is nice and clean as well. On the theme, I think it would have helped with the feeling of being in one room if there were wall images on the sides... if the character wasn't a guy with a shield, it felt more like being in space then in a room. But overall, was a fun game!

Very nice concept. The player dont collide with walls so you can play forever :D

Fun little game. Good use of the theme. Recommend fixing the Boundry box around the outside of the map. Overall good job

Nice project which reminds me some old arcade games. The physics are great - smooth and well done. I had fun playing it ++

I like the idea (finally a chance to replay the events of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3ea3FKmEi4 !) but the implementation is just too buggy.

The reflections don't really work as one would expect and just staying in a corner (or just walking out of the screen) are too effective. Maybe there should be pickups to incentivize walking around the map. The side walls are also outside the screen boundaries on a 1280x1024 display, probably due to the aspect ratio.

Needs a lot of work, but the premise is decent.

It's pretty funnnnn? but the reflections don't work that well and it's weird to use up/down to rotate instead of right/left or mouse. Just my opinion. Also it would be cool if bouncing a missile off your shield over and over built up a combo that gave you point multipliers or something

Nice concept!
I like the choice you made in making the player win points by deflecting the bullets and not by time surviving.

gotta loop that music man.

Nice small game.
I had a problem with the endscreen buttons but otherwise it was cool xD

A nice little arcade game. The wallbug does allow you to exploit your way through, but there is really no reason to do that so it didn't hurt the experience. A bug that did however was that the music stopped, which lowered the atmosphere. There wasn't any pinpoint dodging of the bullethells, which is the salt of the genre, so overall it felt a little flat.

maffew 2016-12-24 01:30

Nice arcade game, can exploit using the walls but its a single player game so that doesn't really matter.

starlight-glimmer-is-best-poney 2016-12-24 12:10

I liked the concept, overally it's a good entry. Collision is sometimes glitchy and game isn't challenging enough for me, though.

aeveis 2016-12-24 23:57

Reflecting was interesting, perhaps if you could reflect bullets into the enemies. I also liked that you get points from reflecting. Keep up the good work!

comatomatoes 2016-12-25 04:00

It seems like the music cuts out at some point and doesn't continue? It felt like the collision with the shield was a little bit strange. Sometimes bullets appeared to bounce multiple times against the shield in short succession. It's an interesting design choice that staying safe and getting a high score have somewhat different strategies. Especially early on, staying away from the bullets allows you to survive, but doesn't really earn any points. Definitely an interesting concept!

doomdad 2016-12-25 07:29

Quite fun old schoolgame. Surviving was very easy only thing that got me killed was weird collisions sending projectiles around the shield.

hamsternator 2016-12-25 13:29

I like the concept, but the difficulty scaling is a bit too slow. Takes a pretty long time before it actually becomes challenging.

almax27 2016-12-27 23:23

Interesting concept but I think projectiles moved a bit too slow and reflections were hard to control.

manax 2016-12-27 23:26

Good work. Including a way to defeat the enemy (bounce bullets off shield into enemy?) would have made this more satisfying.

Shield rotation was way too slow to be useful. I was expecting/hoping to use the mouse for shield direction.

blackbulletiv 2016-12-28 12:29

I like the concept you've got here. Controls felt a bit wonky, would've like to control rotation with the mouse, but they worked well enough as is once I got used to it.
