LD37 — One room

The theme aspect to this was a little light, and I had a difficult time figuring out what the overlays were saying (the one about where to plant things, specifically). I did have fun in the short time I played it though, and the music was really good.

The UI at the beginning confused me on what things I could actually plant, but once I recognized it I figured it out... perhaps a tutorial of sorts would of helped out with that. And it would have been nice if the optimal plant location overlay could have been kept on screen all the time, rather than having to mouse over it. Could also have used a legend on what all of the icons were.

It felt a little awkward moving things around, like sometimes I would try to move something and it would move something else instead. It was just a minor thing though, and overall I had a lot of fun playing the game. The witty interludes were also a plus.

This was a really fun game! Once the fire spread to the whole room, the sound got a little loud, but overall the sound was good, and was a very cute game! Nice job!

Nice one :) The writing on this is where it really shined, and since that's what you were going for (according to the description), I would say this is a success!

This was a pretty fun game overall. I think I got 4 of the arrow spitting dudes going at once and there were quite a few bullets on screen. The deflections of the bullets was a little weird though, a lot of them just ended up spinning in circles after they hit the shield as opposed to deflecting straight like I would have expected. I kept finding myself hitting the left and right arrows to move the shield too, rather than up and down... maybe would have been good to have both bound to that? The UI is nice and clean as well. On the theme, I think it would have helped with the feeling of being in one room if there were wall images on the sides... if the character wasn't a guy with a shield, it felt more like being in space then in a room. But overall, was a fun game!
