Maybe you caught me in the middle of editing? Can you see it now under "PLAY HERE:"?
Hahahahah!
Very cool, and great interpretation of the theme!
Simple but very enjoyable! The sensations are great, the game restart option is a great feature and it is easy to keep you playing trying to beat your record :) (Mine was 925.550)
Whoa, that's impressive, beats my score. Thanks for playing!
From Canada to Space, passing from China!!!!
This game is very compelling and so fun to play. You need to be extremely focused as it's going faster and faster and it becomes harder to avoid obstacles on the way while still catching those delicious speed power-up.
The concept is great and fit the LD theme perfectly.
The randomness of the placement of object in the game may vary a lot your final result, some run will be much easier then other. I also advice you to download the game instead of playing in the browser, as a higher fps may give you advantage.
The art style is really cool too. Overall, this is a game I had hard time to stop playing! Congrats!
(You can see me playing this game for the first time on the vod https://youtu.be/lXUmif8KKxM?t=3h31m13s )
**Edit
O wait, there is no downloadable version :p my bad. @Pickler do you plan to make one?
@Togis yes it's up now.
Thank you for your video review again, it was very exciting to watch it!
That was a lot of fun for what little there was. :)
Really cute game that really leans into the theme the whole way. Hard to see what's coming up when you're moving really fast, but despite that, I could definitely tell I was improving my skill over the course of a couple of tries. Well done! :earth_americas:
A little too simple, but enjoyable. My only problem with it is that it goes too fast so you can't really dodge or try to get the power ups it would be nice if it had some kind of icon alert at the bottom telling you that a power up/ damage object is near.
Man, what a great entry. One of the best I've played so far. Love the graphics, the audio, and the idea is hilarious. The first time I played I just broke through the surface of China, and so I thought that was the game, and was pleasantly surprised when I went flying the second time playing.
As a Canadian myself, I loved the flying flag in the beginning. Also, appreciated the gif if this game being played on a homebrew arcade system (is that a Raspberry Pi setup?). I'm very involved in my local Makerspace community, and love video games too, so you're getting mad points.
Overall felt polished. Only small points might be it's a bit hard to anticipate/react to what's coming up. Wonder if some kind of indicator could be useful. Very well done for Compo entry. Probably my favourite so far.
If you have the time, please feel free to check out my game Sling Ship:

p.s. If chat ever gets going, or if you're on twitter, would love a message to hear more on why SuperTiled was your go to for level design. I've used Tiled before and struggled to really use it well. Wondering if it's worth the $35 for SuperTiled. @Brodengunn on twitter, or else I'll check back in the comments later.
@Quoclon thank you for your review!
SuperTilemap Editor supports most of the features of Tiled, however it does not support isometric tiles. Beyond that SuperTilemap has the significant advantage of working entirely within the Unity IDE, without having to switch to another app and export. It also has its own rendering and chunking logic so that it only loads geometry for nearby chunks of tiles, and handles all that automagically. There is also no hard map boundaries so you can just draw tiles wherever you want and it will grow the tilemap to fit them, again automagically. It supports adding metadata to tiletypes (I think Tiled might allow for this too), and defining colliders per tile type, if you want to use the builtin physics engine.
I personally found it to be the best tilemap editor specifically for Unity and will likely continue using it until Unity releases its own built-in tilemap editor.
P.S. As a fellow maker, here is a link to my cabinet build: http://imgur.com/a/lSusJ
Ahaha :D Awesome game! Short but fun.
Haha! Awesome idea :) Can be expanded to not only Canada-China by making more flags, but anyways it's fun to play :) Btw, finally sfx are not annoying
I really like this, short but polished! (I know some AAA-studios that should try this approach)
@pickler Thanks for the details on SuperTiled. It's going to be my first $10+ purchase on the asset store, as it sounds like it's gonna save me time in future development. Checked out your imgur photos for the cabinet. Beautiful setup, and your boy seems very happy with it. I was surprised to see such nice computer components in the back (figured you'd tossed a Raspberry Pi in there or something). Very impressive! Good work again on your Ludum Dare entry! Take care :)
Cute entry. Personally I always like simple but complete games, so good job!
Simple but fun - there's an interesting tension here between trying to speed up as quickly as possible vs. trying to keep enough control to not run into more obstacles. Cute graphics too. Nice work!
There's not much tutorial needed and the controls are easy, and there is a straight forward goal. I think this game was well thought out and well made. Good Luck!!
powerups or rare pickups would increase replay value a bit, but this is a great compo entry.
I liked some of the little touches, really nice entry for a game jam. Good job!
I liked the game and the concept, but it's so hard to get a high score, because you lose the speed very soon. GJ!
Cheers to Canada! This is awesome, you damn right guessed the scope of the game and hit the theme hard! I love the graphics and the sounds and that's it's a very small game! :)
This was really cool to play I loved it! This is one of the best I've played so far! :D
Amazing :D
