Very nice and unique. I loved it. Though I couldn't seem to figure out how to avoid damage. Nice game! The audio work and even voice over was a fantastic touch

maxkostovich 2017-08-01 10:46

Really nice game! Love it !

simonhutchinson 2017-08-01 14:29

Very cool. I used to play the heck out of the Mechwarrior games when I was a teenager, so this was wonderfully nostalgic (once I wrapped my head around turret vs. mech rotation again).

I wish the dialog was mixed a little louder. It seemed interesting, but I missed a lot of it in the heat of the battle. Also, the enemies were spawning in threes right next to me at the end, which felt a little unfair.

Besides these nitpicks, though, this is AMAZING work for 72 hours.

Great work done in only a weekend. Always impressive to see voice work in jam games too.

duzzondrums 2017-08-02 00:20

Thanks everyone! @simonhutchinson So glad the mechwarrior vibe came through! Yeah the waves of enemies and dialog went in minutes before the deadline, so we didn't even try them before uploading the build! I'll probably make a post jam fix to those :D

AWESOME! At first I was like damn this moves so awkwardly and I had the robot pointing at his side. Retarded style. Good job. Five stars overall.

lamm 2017-08-03 00:55

Great game nice job

thygrrr 2017-08-03 00:55

Dyaaaaamn! You made a Mech Warrior clone in 3 days? The first game that gets the five star overall from me. So satisfying!

Likes: - badass title - awesome voice acting. - heavy metal riffs, how could anything with these be not good, ever :) - awesome sound and quite good graphics - satisfying and punchy gameplay ... YOU WON

Try differently: - I had a game pad connected at first, it made my mech go super crazy. I was afraid I couldnt play the game, but it plays fine with just keyboard and mouse if I unplug the xbox360 controller - I won the game on the first playthrough with no tweaking of my powersystems and without using shields. At the end, I was only able to fire missile volleys, but the enemies were easy to kite.

Overall: - mind bogglingly awesome - the religions subtones are bad-ass in conjunction with the heavy metal soundtack.

This game ROCKS! Your reactors must be running at 900 Kelvin after throwing this one together in a weekend!

Guys you are crazy. This game is f*cking awesome! 5 stars!!!

repusv 2017-08-03 13:50

Really nice game ! I had to unplug my controller and restart the game though because it's moving the mouse. It took me a while to understand how the mech worked but then it became pretty cool. Nice work !

pcmaster 2017-08-03 13:52

This was incredible. Did you sleep during those 3 days? Are you mad dudes mad? :D Congratz! I loved everything, the voice acting, the metal music (is it yours?), the graphics, gameplay, UI, everything!

konio-softworks 2017-08-03 13:54

Very cool game! Nice job

thirrash 2017-08-03 13:59

Wow, now I'm impressed. For a jam game it it extraordinally good and fun. I don't really have anything to scold you guys for :D

Great job!

eugene-opryshko 2017-08-03 14:11

This is a very good result for one-weekend game, but I found controls a bit confusing. I don't understand why not just to make classic WASD first person movement.

machinetribe 2017-08-03 16:59

Nicely done, very impressive that it was made during the 48hrs given for the compo. Nice job!

ezaudiolabs 2017-08-03 20:15

Really awesome game! You seem like an experienced jam group and I love the level of detail on everything in the game. I absolutely loved the voice actor's voice. Is @oldshrimpeyes also his Twitter account? I'd love to have him in my contact list as I work with audio as well and eventually need to cast voice actors! You can find my contact info in my profile. Cheers and congrats for the game!

mrchippy 2017-08-03 23:02

This was really good. The voice acting was great and added to the game a lot. Everything looks really nice for a game made in 3 days. The controls were a little weird. I don't really understand why you went with that but it might have been nice to add in a compass or something to show you what direction you are walking in. Besides that the controls felt really good and collisions seemed much more polished than they are in most 3D ld games.

keckles 2017-08-04 00:49

very good game kinda wonky controls but other than that good job

wareification 2017-08-04 01:38

Excellent! I haven't played a mech game for a long time. This was an interesting reminder.

I've got to agree with the others that the controls did feel a bit unnatural at first. I don't know if it's because of the mouse sensitivity or what, but it wasn't until the last few rounds before I realized how to properly orient myself.

The amount of game content and pure presentation is unbelievable for a jam event though. That audio dub was priceless!

arnage 2017-08-04 10:57

By far the best audio work of the games I've played so far! The rest of the game also works well to create a very strong entry, great work!

mrtroy 2017-08-05 07:17

WOW! That was extremely awesome! I love this game! Once I realized that you can rotate the upper body independently of the what the legs are doing, I started strafing to take down enemies. Unfortunately I ended up walking right into a trap of 3 enemies and I died.

christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2017-08-06 11:58

THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a rare thing for an LD entry to inspire a catchy catchphrase! <3

likes - unbelievable presentation and polish. definitely prettier than any mechwarrior - great gameplay!! - a ton of content - incredible voice work and sfx - incredible music

try differently: - maybe a tiiiny bit faster mech movement? I know if you had time there'd be upgrades and stuff, so no big. - make the gameplay a bit harder ( I had absolutely no problem with the controls, but then, I'm a mechwarrior veteran and actually love tons of shortcuts for mech control)

phobos001 2017-08-08 01:11

You guys did a fantastic job making this game! It took me a second to get used to the controls but when I did I had a blast. I think if you continue this game you need to give more feedback to the player; More punchy sounding guns and explosion sounds (Check out gameplay of BLACK to see what I mean), and visual damage to enemies while your hurting them and afterwards as well (Maybe flash red based on how much damage was given and dent their armor or have sparks and fire if they're heavily damaged.) Then some permenance of where mechs were destroyed would seal the deal for me. ;) Great work all of you!

zyow 2017-08-09 08:31

Yeah! A Mechwarrior game! I love it! Great job!

Maybe more feedback for the player would help to survive a little longer.

estebe 2017-08-12 17:16

Excellent game with a high amount of polish!

When I saw a screenshot of this game, I just had to play it! I love me some mech simulation. Fortunateley, this game scratched that itch.

The graphics are top-notch, along with the cool and fitting soundtrack. The sounds were fitting also, and the voice acting a nice touch, not ofter heard in an LD-game. Also, you've managed to make some decent controls out of the standard keyboard and mouse. Forcing people to use a joystick would've set the bar to play too high. I liked the original backstory and integration into the game as well.

I did see some slight immersion-breaking things here and there. The enemies are just drawn into view. Teleporting in front of you. A spawn-cove in a building, or some other way of spawning out of view, would've been less jarring. And the ending was, compared to the superb intro, very dissapointing. You win? That's it?

Yeah, that's it, for minuses. That's all you get subtracted. ;) I'm very impressed by the game, and it's very obvious in your case what a good team can do given the same amount of time as a single person! Kudos to you people!

oyianakis 2017-08-19 14:36

The overall atmosphere was quite effective.

Controls are also well done, the level of 'clunk' in maneuvering the mech feels good & somewhat accurate to what I imagine piloting to be like.

The mechanic of diverting power to specific areas is quintessential to the mech genre and it was well implemented.

Well done SeaDads!
