After being struck by an arrow, the game didn't allow me to move at all. I like the atmosphere!

masamunedragon 2016-08-29 02:49

Using arrowkeys+mouse is a little awkward. The creepy cave background sound is great!

seizar 2016-08-29 16:53

It looks creepy enough to make me think you could turn this into an horror game :) I arrived to the end after solving the puzzles, and I liked that you die from the arrow/bullet whichever direction you approach it from. I enjoyed the background music!

aroscillo 2016-08-29 19:59

Cool game. Nice graphics.

obscenelytrue 2016-08-29 21:05

Sorry. I don't arrive to interact with objects...left button or right button?

redhotalex 2016-08-29 21:15

According to 10 hrs of work I'm impressed by your first 3D game. I like the graphics.

simonhutchinson 2016-08-29 21:34

Cool graphics and controls (I love the old keyboard navigation over the newfangled mouse+wasd).

If I found the cat, did I win?

ghen 2016-08-29 21:41

the graphics reamind me of "Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion", i love the vibe, atmospher and sfx all around
the control very responsive, and i like the "old dungeon crawler" style of movement

ilseroth 2016-08-29 21:47

Short but I had fun with it. if you had a full 48 that may have been some serious stuff.

jscottmiller 2016-08-30 17:12

I might be an idiot, but I'm not able to get through the first gate. I tried clicking on the lever, but nothing happened. :) I'm running Chrome on Mac OS.

From what I could play, I really liked it! I like that you kept the 3D nice and simple - the lighting model matches the low-fi textures and layout really well. These details, along with the low resolution shadows, give a really cohesive look. I also appreciate that you kept the simple movement of old school dungeon crawlers and added a nice tweened transition. It feels really crisp!

cmangas 2016-08-30 17:16

Really cool game, I like the grafics, remind me of old pc dungeon crawlers. Puzzles are nice, but it is too short! Keep the good work.

piotrek 2016-08-30 19:35

After seeing thumbnail I was sure it'll be using raycast engine. But gameplay was nice anyway.

jscottmiller 2016-08-30 20:52

Ha, disregard my comment above about being stuck. I'm just bad at games!

decentsauce 2016-08-30 21:38

@jscottmiller Well, can't fault you for that cause it does look like a lever. :p Sadly couldn't make a fire model in time. Would have probably helped if the game showed you if an object had an interaction or not. Thank you for the comment!

decentsauce 2016-08-30 22:35

@SimonHutchinson Yeah, cat ending is best ending. :p

hawkinslance 2016-08-31 00:21

Was interesting took me awhile to solve. The graphics are great and the music really sets the atmosphere. Simple and effective gameplay.

kingpirux 2016-08-31 01:01

oh well xD this could be a great game if you had more time! so good job!

stigmawall 2016-08-31 02:07

I enjoy the color palette. Also find the cat.

seleb 2016-08-31 02:58

From a game design perspective, the first sconce is really misleading: if you miss the ground plate, you walk around the corner and see a closed gate and a conspicuous white block on the wall next to it. Most people in that situation are going to assume it's a switch to open the gate. The actual puzzle isn't hard to solve, but the way in which it's presented easily leads the player to the wrong solution without giving them any idea as to what they're supposed to do. If it was placed on the other side of the gate, it would probably fix the problem.

lonespelunker 2016-08-31 05:32

Nice. Worked really well for me, and I was able to get through to the end with little trouble. You have a solid first-person dungeon crawler engine here you could use to flesh out a larger game.

catchthefloaty 2016-08-31 05:46

really neat. more puzzles wouldve been nice for such a large game though

pikkpoiss 2016-08-31 05:59

I got a great Eye of the Beholder / Stonekeep vibe out of it! Obviously would've liked a little more depth, but the movement / atmosphere felt like a good start.

mirrorpolygons 2016-08-31 06:04

Good short game with nice puzzles, the second one took me a while to find and the secret room is a nice addition. I licked especially the lighting effects and the simple wall texture, maybe some more textures on the table would have been nice.

mrfield 2016-08-31 09:29

Really good fun puzzle game, both creeps me out with the music and gives me nostalgia with the control scheme. I just wish it had lasted longer. It finished just as my intrigue got going.

junber 2016-08-31 11:53

That was pretty cool for such a short game. I as probably some people above confused the first torch for a switch but I saw that this problem was already solved with the post-compo version. Also I'm not sure what an exit button is supposed to do in a game with just a web build. Still great work especially for the your timeframe and it being your first 3d game.

threelivesgames 2016-08-31 12:48

I really liked the atmosphere of the game, however after getting through the gate I was stuck for at least 10 minutes. It was hard to see if I was interacting with my clicks and some audio feedback would've been nice. The controls were also a little strange, but as a whole still very impressive for only 10 hours.

lonelyvertex 2016-08-31 18:49

Wow. Amazing game. It brings me back to the childhood when I used to play Dungeon Master. Anyway I first played the game without the sound so i didnt realised i stepped over the button in the first corridor so i got confused how to open the first gate, i tried the torch next to the door like million times :). Keep working on it and create more levels!

justinooncx 2016-09-01 07:26

Well. Actually found the end after a brief search. This game has promise, but it's incredibly short and bare-bones at the moment. To be done in 10 hours, though, that's a pretty good effort!

wilsk 2016-09-01 09:26

A short game but showed lots of potential. Reminded me of some old school dungeon games like maybe the very early Might and Magic ones or something. Thanks.

bentglasstube 2016-09-01 09:28

I like the concept for the game. It would definitely be good if it were expanded some.

alexlamarche 2016-09-02 15:42

Really cool. I got to the end super quickly though. I wish there were more puzzles, but I understand the time restriction. The main thing that I liked the most was the style of gameplay.

jk5000 2016-09-03 07:46

Oh this was a very a short game. But the puzzles there is here is simple and great.

togimaro 2016-09-04 12:46

Really cool for a first 3D game!
Good start for the level design!
Too bad you did not get more time :(
Great job!
