Make sure to click, not click and drag, when moving items!
I liked a lot playing your game! My highscore was 44305, it was very fun :) Also, maybe increasing the hitbox for every coin can help a little bit in the clicking. I found it to be very hard sometimes to click on small coins :D Congratulations!!!
I played it for a few minutes before I got bored. my final score was 2080. I noticed that sometimes when I was trying to put a coin in a bag that it wouldn't go in on the first try. I don't know if that's realism depicting my inability to put coins in my own wallet or if it just needs a larger are.
I think not having music was a big detriment to the game. Even just some open source idle soundtracks would have gone a long way in my opinion.
I enjoyed the art. Not too much to say there.
A tutorial would have been nice, or even just a little bit of text stating what you were supposed to do. To me at least that wasn't evident till I accidentally put a coin in the sack then the rest clicked. Not ssure what the little contracts did but I signed them all (probably a bad idea), and I clicked the recycle bin a few times. The recycle bin still confuses me. How is throwing away money a stress reliever.
Funfact: I tried playing it with my graphic tablet and it worked so much better than a mouse. The game would probably be much better on mobile than on PC
Dude, you stole my game title! jk :) wish I could play yours but I don't have windows. Here's my similarly-named game if you're interested. Much obliged! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/mo-gold-mo-dragons
Let's be fair - we both stole it from B.I.G! Now, I built for Linux and OSX, but I have no way to test them. Gonna check out your game!
Great game! The graphics aren't the best, and it needs music, but it's pretty good! Very fitting of the theme, 5-star!
Definitely had more fun than I was expecting. A bit hard to play on a track-pad though.
I kept forgetting to sign my contracts at first.
I really liked playing this one and I think it fit's the theme very nicely! It was cool to see new things pop up the more problems...err, money you earned. ;) I also really enjoyed having to "read the fine print" on the contracts... I feel like that could be a game all in itself. My only real complaint was that the game didn't seem to register my clicks or where I'd place coins some of the time, even if it was directly on an object. It killed the flow for me when that happened in the middle of a frantic sorting. Otherwise, I really liked it, great work!
I like it. It was funny.
(+) - I like the graphics, they were nice, fit perfectly - I like the variety coin/contract and how the contract appears after some coins collected
(-) - Sometimes it was difficult to put the coin/contract exactly on the sack/mailbox. Maybe some kind of feedback or bigger hitbox would be nice - Clicking instead of dragging was somehow strange, maybe dragging would feel better
In overall, I enjoy it. You have made a good job here! :)
This game is a nightmare on a touchpad but I still managed to get 12,795. When I find my mouse I'll definitely play this again. It's stylishly designed and the pace of the building chaos was perfect. My only criticism is that it can be hard to hit the coin bags' hit boxes. BTW, the macOS version worked just fine.
EDIT: I came back with my mouse and had a lot more fun with it. AFAIK there isn't a way to exit the leaderboard or game over screens so you just have to force quit, lol. Anyway I loved the difficulty scaling and now I'm interested to see the math behind it. I wanted to take a hammer to the phone after playing for a while but I got a ridiculously high score:

My high score: 34461
Who picks up pennies anyway?
I usually had difficultly dropping coins into bags, having a rollover effect when the mouse was in the right place, or making the hotspot much bigger would have made the game a lot less frustrating. Same with sometimes picking up the wrong thing when things were nearby each other.
Progression was nice, I liked that the amount of stuff on my table increased both my, and my character's, stress!
@ruthiepee There is a button for exiting the score board, but it is entirely possible that the UI doesn't scale well for all resolutions - I also haven't tested the game on Mac/Linux, so that might be it too...
@Jimbly hit detection is a bit... let's say... janky. I'm aware of it and it annoys me as well. It can probably be fixed but I'm not entirely sure what the actual problem is as its using Unity's collision(trigger) system because I thought it would save time. I porobably should have just coded it in with regards to distance between dropped object and bag to be fair. Lession learned!
Great game =D was chill in the beginning, but started to feel the stress soon
great game , no bgm no problem, i still enjoy it that much
the downside is sometimes the coin is just not going into bag, idk if that's the game or my disabilities to "you shall not put that 10 coin into the 10 coin bag", and not only 10 coin, but all of them......
but still it's a great game to play and nice concept

I think didn't figure out what the magnifier was for. Sometimes the coin wouldn't be counted when I dropped it on the purse.
However, this was a surprisingly enjoyable game. Good job with the theme, the stress was real, the coins were not :P
Nice entry! The stress mechanic felt a little strange (if you're making thousands of dollars, you're probably not going to be "stressed" over an abundance of loose change), but other than that it was an interesting take on the theme. - I agree with the other comments that it'd be better if click + drag was supported, and that the bags are a bit too finnicky about what counts as a deposit - The magnifying glass was a really cool idea, but I found that the hidden costs were usually small enough that it was simpler to just sign everything to keep things moving - There were a couple minor sorting issues: if you had multiple contracts overlapping, the text from both would show up on top of the background of both; if you had a contract overlapping a coin, clicking the coin (which is visually underneath it) would pick up the coin rather than the contract
I liked the idea of contracts, because you need to quickly figure out if it's a good deal or not. I think it was one of the most interesting idea in the game.
Well done.
@sean-s-leblanc I dunno, if you believe rich people then being rich can be a stress factor! But I more envisioned you playing as an accoutnant or something, like its not your money per se. Like light inspiration from Papers, Please. And yeah, there are graphical glitches, and the graphics aren't nearly as juiced up as I wanted them to be...
Thanks for the feedback!
The game suddenly ended and gave me a score of 23368332. Quite fun though; it really stresses you out. Funny to have to read the small print. The phone is soooo annoying! I like it!
Too bad there are some glitches and the drag 'n drop is weird. But all in all a fun game.
The game definitely achieved its goal of stressing me out! I ended up with a score of 7089719. The game was fun though, it reminded me of the Papers, Please stress.
The only slight problem was dropping the money into their collection bins could be a little funky, it would be nice if just mousing over the collection area while holding the currency deposited it.
Overall great game for this compo.
...I want to break that damn phone!!!
The game is fun, but need more polish on the gameplay and the controls; it is a bit hard to grasp the gameplay without a tutorial. The game is cool and the principle very nice tough :)
You shoulda offered audio ratings. I would've rated it highly. The coin sounds were very pleasing (wow I sound like a miser). Besides, I don't think people vote down for lack of music, just if the sounds that are there aren't any good. That could just be me though.
Also, just curious, why no web version? It doesn't seem like a resource-intensive game ;)
@tvance Honestly? Because I've never used it before and Unity doesn't seem like the engine to easily run in a browser... But after having played a ton of LD40 games I know it sort of is haha
In my (limited) experience Unity does fine in browser if you knock the graphics settings down a few notches and don't use too many particle effects.
IMO you get way more plays if you offer a web version. Something to keep in mind for next time. I myself have only downloaded a tiny fraction of the ones I've rated in LD40. TBH the main reason I downloaded yours is reciprocity. I appreciated your comment on my game :)
I got to 14324. Putting money in bags especially with the SFX is very pleasant at the beginning but later it got totally crazy. I thought it was just a game about quick reactions, but the contract thing adds some strategy to it.
It took me a while to figure out what you are supposed to do with contract, magnifier and phone.
The control is a little bit uncomfortable. Hitboxes are too small and when objects overlap sometimes the object underneath is picked up.
I think it could be a really fun game with more polishment.
The game overall I enjoyed quite a bit! Got a score of 122133 by the end and dear god I did have mo problems by the end. I loved the idea of the game with money management, stressful idea coupled with stressful game play. Also, the pixel art was really just absolutely brilliant. The sound effects were also decent. I think most people probably mentioned the controls responding unexpectedly when objects are on top of one another.
But again, I did really enjoy the game. Well done!
Boy, I never thought the controls may be such a huge problem. It is a very nice game, I love the idea, love the execution, but the drag-n-drop and hitbox issues are giving me headaches. Publish a post-Jam version of that, and I will surely be back to play it.
This is a cool take on the theme! I was stressed most of the time. I basically throw most of the contracts to the bin straight away lol (don't trust them lawyers). Pretty solid experience! Congrats!
Overall a nice game! But there is a some small things that annoy me: Dropping coins onto the bag sometimes doesn't work, maybe the collider is too small or doesnt scale with full screen. Picking up the paper below coins that is clicked. Still great game, I like the graphics.
Very fun game, love the art style. Title screen could have used a bit more polishing other than that, great game!
Very stressful! The phone was super annoying which added to the craziness ( I saw the banner before and then after I understood hahaha). I liked how you could recycle everything and lose money you had but then you'll be fine. The hit boxes to drop things off felt too small, and the click to carry and click to drop felt kind of unresponsive at times (probably compounded by the hit boxes). I liked seeing the progression of the coins to the bills (I got up to the 1000 dollar bill, not sure if there was anything after that). keep up the good work!
