You spelled "cybre" wrong ;-)

boltkey 2017-12-04 02:49

The ending really got me, great job.

boltkey 2017-12-04 02:49

The ending really got me. Great job!

ayame9joe 2017-12-04 07:04

Quite interesting. I like the idea. It is evoking.

isogash 2017-12-04 07:14

Very funny! Loved the ending.

relsqui 2017-12-04 07:25

I'm glad I read the other comments, I had to go back and replay to see the end. The theme doesn't feel super well integrated, but it's fun to play and got a laugh out of me.

ginger9 2017-12-04 09:24

To Mr Anonymous: I think "cyber" is right. And I can't find the place I use "cybre".

@boltkey @isogash You got me :smile:

@ayame9joe :smile:

@reisqui I'm sorry, to close the game before the ending or not restart the game after enter the CyberWorld game, which do you mean?

fiakaiera 2017-12-04 10:01

**This is almost perfect the way it is.** ..somewhat. You could really build upon it, though!

* This graphic-improving theme is quite similar to Evoland, but you have to pay for it, like DLC Quest! Though, you placed it in a narrative that could go deeper. Well, and yeah the ending got me there, I thought you have something running in the back to provoke me but I saw it's GameMaker-Studio so that's not gonna happen anytime soon.

* I was wondering about why the game has a small border until I upgraded the graphics. I'm only complaining about the background. It made it actually harder for me to see, thanks to the white border. If the white border is there, then it's better for the background to be harder.

* That BGM has to go. That loop is too short, proved more annoying and drowns out the experience of the game. High pitched music hurts the ears. That should be adjusted an octave down. I regret buying the music upgrade first and it's sad I can't toggle it off. Sounds is good but sadly the music takes a hit on my ratings.

* I can see where the theme lies. The more bullets you have, the harder to move, thus making it harder. If you placed something to charge you like rent, then Rent should scale against you, then it should fit the theme more in addition to that. I was about to comment that if you upgrade the game will be harder, but it has proved otherwise.

As seeing you're planning to make CyberWorld, I know you could get better at this and this is a good entry nonetheless.

ginger9 2017-12-04 10:19

@fiakaiera Thx for your comment! * I have to apologize for the BGM, I'm really not good at doing this. But in fact you can turn off the BGM using the "reset" option, which will return your coins too. * If you upgrade all items, you should trigger an event that costs 300 coins to buy a new capsule. Did you buy that? (so please reset the BGM AFTER this event, I'm sorry.) * In fact, "the more bullets you have, the slower you move" is the secondary point to fit the theme. You could find the main one after buying the second capsule.

fiakaiera 2017-12-04 11:19

@ginger9 Oh that's cool! I thought the Reset will let everything back to 0, so I never touched it. Sadly, did already buy the capsule and I know the ending already. Now that you explained it: I see what you mean. Thanks for the reply.

(It would help if you :heart: their comment if you find the feedback on the game nice. It increases karma for them.)

talia 2017-12-04 11:22

yeah a cyberfighter! and you can even upgrade things. It was very fun to play!

ginger9 2017-12-04 11:30

@fiakaiera I have thought comment itself will increase karma:sweat_smile: Now :heart:s are done.

maskinmask 2017-12-04 12:43

wizcas 2017-12-04 14:22

I love the exprience of suddenly switch between 2 worlds. The idea is super cool and well implemented. And I realized that I'm not a good player for aircraft shooting game. :sigh:

2017-12-04 18:30

I really liked it!

soyrandom 2017-12-04 18:31

Nice game dude!

eggshelldog 2017-12-04 19:24

Really appreciate that you made the different tune of the effect and sound for different graphics level. The feeling of upgrading a game's graphics is really good, that satisfied me feel a lot when I bought it! Btw the "RESET" confused me because it can be "clean all your gold" or "reset all your upgrade and get gold back". Although the second one seems more make sense, I don't want to take the risk when I was playing. I think you should mention that somewhere.

relsqui 2017-12-04 22:26

@ginger9 On my first playthrough I did a couple of levels and then stopped. I don't play a lot of this kind of fighting game and was expecting to get frustrated as it got harder. When I saw someone mention the ending I went back and continued. I appreciated that it was less frustrating than I expected (because there's very little penalty for failure, I can just keep going, and I did better than I expected!) and then I enjoyed the ending (both before and after reopening the game).

maroovan 2017-12-04 23:17

This was very interesting! Thank you for the experience and the strong message! You did a great job! This is one of my favorite entries so far

junjunlowpoly 2017-12-05 01:07

Really like the idea of using Evoland-like system evolution as a narrative method! Looking forward to seeing a real game built upon it.

ginger9 2017-12-05 04:33

@wizcas game process saved in AppData\Local\About_The_CyberFighter\data.ini:smile:

@soyrandom @maroovan @junjunlowpoly :laughing:

@reisqui got it :smile:

@goldranger yeah, you're right. I'll mention it in the description.

guoboism 2017-12-05 10:47

The ending make jokes about reality.

terakorp 2017-12-05 11:37

I have no idea what I just experienced but it was great. lmao!

blinkeye 2017-12-05 13:41

gave me a really nostalgic feel and i loved it. a pointer would be to add some single 8 bit sound effect when shooting so the player knows there is actually sound in the game. Fun game! Also the ending made me laugh.

gao-ming 2017-12-05 14:38

hugimugi7 2017-12-06 11:41

Nice game! :grinning: Good idea and I like that you can upgrade graphics, but I think it needs more polish and depth to it. Oh.. and also animations would have been nice!

tulipekoni 2017-12-06 11:42

Nice Game! Great graphics and sound effects. One nitpick: I kinda wanted to see the game to get harder overtime(speed would increase, much harder enemies etc.). it would be so monotonous. great job tho!

gerardb 2017-12-06 11:57

Great grame, great asthetics and great ending. I really enjoyed it :)

rayriver 2017-12-06 13:21

oivin-f 2017-12-08 22:59

Cool game with a fun twist!

I found myself just holding space for the majority of the time though, maybe tweak it so he shoots even slower when at 0 ammo. Good job!

zitao-ye 2017-12-09 07:39

之前以为的worse是屏幕的干扰,各种glitch的效果,但是在升级满了之后还是不知道发生了什么;

What?

tobia88 2017-12-09 14:00

Cool idea, i love the part of level up the graphics from such as evoland! But i guess the mechanics of more bullets slower moving doesnt mix to the game very well, most of the time i only pressing the fire button so i've no chance to save the bullets. In the end, i've no idea what is going on from cyberworld, i though the game was crash in the certain time! anyway, welldone!

ginger9 2017-12-11 04:09

@hugmugi7 :smile:

@tulipekoni @oivin-f @tobia88 advice received! This game is designed according to the idea that "the shooting part provides a play point and the two world parts provide thinking.", which means in fact I didn't spend so much time on the shooting part.

@gerardb @rayriver :laughing:

@tobia88 cyberworld is our world XD

aeveis 2017-12-12 08:26

Liked the ending punchline! Had some nice progression with the graphics and the upgrades. Almost feels like snapshots of the same game as the developer gets better. Keep up the good work!
