Very nice game, i enjoyed a lot playing it as i love idle games, about the top-down component: at certain times the plating position feels not so precise, i replaced by mistake some crops, also, its difficult keeping track which crop is, maybe just a little color change on the top part would have helped, congratulation however, very solid entry :)

Love it! Graphics are top-notch, sound gets a little annoying after a while (my game has like 3 sounds and no music. I know how hard it is to implement proper audio), and everything seems to work fine. Very impressive that you're using your own engine, since I'm stuck with unity (I really like the capabilities it offers, but I am thinking about trying something more "bare" for the next jam).

Pretty cool! Graphics are great, and the genre mash-up works really well! Good upgrade pace as well.

Hi thomz12!

This is a pretty solid idle game for the compo. It follows many of the same traits that these types of games have, "Capitalism", "Expansion" and then a theme, in this case Farming.

As it is, I found it enjoyable for the same reasons as I enjoy any other idle game. Slowly building up your fortunes and seeing you cash meter skyrocket.

The visuals are nice, the pixel art was pretty well done. I liked the little pop sound effect when harvesting crops.

Otherwise, the biggest issue for me is the concept. I mentioned that I enjoyed this game for all the reasons that I enjoy similar games. Not because this game brings anything new to the table. For this game to stand out it needs some sort of stand out feature, otherwise it's going to get drowned in the pool of other idle games.

But it's still a pleasant game to play that just needs some more content to make it stand out. Good Job!

Nice game! A little work on the sprouts to make them a little easier to tell apart would go a long way, but still enjoyable to have playing on the side.

Your game is preaty addictive :D Well done!

thibaut-blanca 2018-04-23 12:13

Nice farming game! but how do you delete a crop to change it by a better one? fermier.png

thomz12 2018-04-23 12:16

@Thibaut Blanca Thanks! You can plant crops over other crops, by pressing 'z'. :)

Nice little relaxing game. I enjoyed it

Impressive.I love the graphics (the 'bezels' on the pixels are a really nice touch) and sound effects, and the controls feel nice. Great combination of genres - maybe not too incompatible but definitely fun.

Cool game, cute pixel graphics. It's weirdly satisfying - planting and collecting crops this way. I think it would be better if it had on-screen controls instead of buttons. It can be great time-killer on mobile devices. Good job

frostdragonliz 2018-04-23 12:52

Really enjoyed this, love the graphics. I think it would really benefit from some cute sounds for each different plant though!

vinegarlove 2018-04-23 12:53

I don't really like this type of games, so i'll rate everything except for gameplay. The sprite are good, i love the old tv style pixel on the screen. It really needed a relaxing music in the background. I think it's solid entry. Good job!

Fun little game. Nice graphics. Well polished.

hugimugi7 2018-04-23 16:08

Nice game! But it got a bit repetitive towards the end.

seaham 2018-04-23 16:52

I ended up playing way longer than I thought I would! I love the sound effects of the veggies being harvested. Only thing I wish was there is a way to remove your plants in order to re-arrange your farm. Solid entry.

Good job! I'm still playing this! Amazing how much game time you can create in so little development time... The cute graphics fit right in as well. Of course - depth isn't incredible, as you do the same thing over and over, but to me this has some real potential!

Very nice game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_9PaAd0SRA

gamedevmumin 2018-04-24 17:10

Ooo, I played it before and forgot to grade - it means it was good, haha! :D I guess combining idle game with any other make it not idle game now? XD Nice feeling of cropping vegetables. I went to eat dinner downstairs and heard that "pop-pop" from upstairs! :D Amazign!

shiiro 2018-04-24 19:30

Cool game! Really fun and cute graphics!!

jin9310 2018-04-25 05:08

I was really surprised how catchy this can get :) Good job done sir! Really dig the art style and the overall mood is well handled.

mccordinator 2018-04-25 18:13

Great game! I really like the pixelated graphic style. Gameplay also works great and farming the plants feels very rewarding. Good job!

You could (should! :D) definitely take this further. I am a great fan of Stardew Valley / Harvest Moon and I played cookie clicker/ Idle Heroes like crazy so I was really amazed by your combination.

bloodyorange 2018-04-26 20:16

Awesome! I really love the graphics! So cute! There is hardly anything to criticize.. except you have to keep the game in a seperate browser tap otherwise it won't idle.

maesk 2018-05-01 12:49

Great game! It's quite addicting, and the powerups at first are really cool to keep production rising automatically. Problem is, mechanics don't change beyond crop+auto+boost, so just waiting for the next crop type to show is not engaging enough.

Nevertheless, graphics are really nice, sound is ok (I just miss a bit of music, and maybe different sounds per crop type), and it is an enjoyable experience. Good work!
