LD33 — You are the Monster

Dr. Cutie & Mr. Monster by oostap 2015-08-25T17:31:00

There were a few other people playing when I tried. Overall was quite fun but there were some weird behaviours like getting the character stuck behind the top menu bar and pie count not being reset on death. Nice job!

I agree with @KR-Eddie in that I'd like more balanced enemies. I got to 87 kills then left it to see how long it would take to die. I had >10k health and even though there were tons of enemies on screen I was taking <10dps. I really enjoyed the music.

Thanks for the feedback! Just fixed the incorrect level being loaded on replay bug.

I agree with the other commenters that it's not very clear what I should be doing any given moment other than mashing buttons. It's a really interesting concept, I just wish it was tuned to require some strategy (or communicate it better if there is a strategy and I just missed it).

Inkazimor by bellatrion 2020-04-21T15:05:40Z

The dialog audio was great! I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time he was beeping and booping.

On the html5 version I had some problems with the cursor hiding when I opened the menu. I had to shake my mouse for a few seconds each time I opened it before it would appear. Other than that I enjoyed the game but I feel it could have benefited from a bit more challenge. I was expecting to have to collect food from the world to be able to feed him. Having unlimited access to food made the game feel too easy for me.

Gardener 2.X by Harker 2020-04-21T15:48:53Z

The game's relaxing atmosphere was nice and I enjoyed the robot's design. I think the visual feedback for plants growing could be improved. I found it difficult to tell what stage the plants were at and what they needed. It seemed like the same particles that indicate the plant is dying also indicate it's ready to be picked which was confusing.

Leafy Hero by Guilb 2020-04-22T17:44:06Z

Beautiful game and the audio fit really well. I was able to beat it after a few tries but it felt like it was mostly up to luck with the caterpillars. Sometimes they would eat way faster than I was able to keep up with but the time I won I barely had any damage to deal with on the final stage. I'd love to play a longer version with some balance tweaks. Nice Job!

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-21T20:29:45Z

Excellent job! The art style and audio were both fantastic!

You Live Like This? by LurkinMcClerkin 2020-04-21T15:31:33Z

Very thematic game! Voice-overs and overall sound design were excellent and set the atmosphere perfectly. Difficulty curve felt good with new challenges introduced right at the point where I had figured out the rhythm of the game.

Nice Job!

@torh Haven't used that site before but it was easy enough to upload a copy there. Let me know if it works for you!

Battle of the Blades by technodragon253 2020-04-22T01:48:17Z

Interesting concept! I think the game could have really benefited from more visual and audio feedback. I wish the enemies has some kind of health indicator to let me know how close I was to killing them.

Vine and Void by JUSTCAMH 2020-04-25T13:36:33Z

Love it! The vine mechanic feels fantastic and the audio was delightful and perfectly matches the gameplay!

Ice Light by ThornDuck 2020-04-21T19:58:25Z

Fantastic graphics and game feel. I really enjoyed playing this!

Scrap Cargo by shadow30 2020-04-23T14:24:27Z

I had a great time with this game! First impression was pretty overwhelming but on my second attempt I got the hang of it and the balance felt good. I only had two problems:

1. In full screen mode with dual monitor I found myself clicking outside the game and minimizing it a lot when trying to deal with pirates. It'd be nice if the cursor was confined to the window. 2. Some situations with the asteroids felt unfair - if the first asteroid comes in the middle of the screen then I'm forced to choose left or right before I see the next asteroid. The ship is too big to be able to weave through them cleanly so it felt too much like rng to me.

Other than that I really enjoyed it! The sound effects for destroying the large asteroid was absolutely delicious! Nice job!

Remember, Apollo by AdamCYounis 2020-04-21T20:41:40Z

Fantastic experience! Artwork and music were top notch and the unique story telling method worked perfectly to deliver a powerful feeling for such a short game.

The Dark Cave by Tom Stephenson 2020-04-23T14:34:42Z

Super atmospheric! Final chase scene felt intense. It would be nice for the sound effects to have a bit more variation though.
