This was quite fun to play. Movement felt smooth, player feedback was on point, and the mechanics were fun...
But the music was kickass. Seriously, the music and sound effects made fireballs feel powerful, and made me feel like I was always in the action, even when I wasn't.
The particle effects and the art complimented the game as well. Great job with this.
Finally, in terms of mechanics, shooting projectiles is pretty standard in dungeon crawlers. However, I loved how projectiles would split into a second, smaller projectile on collision. I loved attempting to get a bonus hit on enemies with this mechanic. The projectiles being linked to the player's health is also something I don't see much of. This made me have to manage my health when shooting. While I could spam fireballs if I wanted to, such an action may make me massively vulnerable. I love the idea of this.
If you were to continue with this game, more levels, projectile effects, enemy types, etc., would be real fun (you've played dungeon crawlers before, you know this). Your core mechanics are solid, meaning that however you'd decide to expand this idea, you'd have a good foundation.
Thanks for the game, great job :)
Thanks so much! I'd like to develop this further so your feedback is priceless!
hi, i really enjoyed playing your game, how did you do you pixelart?
Perfect game. Got stock in the wall. But it is amazingly polished. The best game so far.

This was a really good and polished game! Reminded me gameplay- and art wise a lot of "enter the gungeon". It was quite fun, although I didn't really feel like the whole concept of losing life when you attack added much to the game. It was quite satisfying to be able to break the enviroment.
I really like your art and lighting style.
One thing I might consider is the screen shake is a little too much. Maybe limit it to every other attack.
Otherwise I really likes the controls.

Sounds effects were good, movement was great and smooth. Only had an issue with getting knocked out of bounds and stuck outside the level (This was on the tutorial enemy). Restarted and didn't see the issue again. But as noted above by william-nomikos, I think the simple addition of the ammo tied to health really added way more to combat than I anticipated.
amazing game would love to play the full game in the futcher. a little bit excessive on the screen shake, but amazing graphics and fell to the game.
Great music! Also the art is really cool! Fun game :)
I really liked this game! The gameplay felt good and responsive, and I really liked how attacking was tied to your health, this was an interesting mechanic. For gameplay, I would consider making the enemy attacks move a bit slower, since it felt like I was not able to really dodge them without spamming the dodge button itself. But the music was really on point! There really is something here to develop further in this game, and I encourage you to continue with this project!

really cool game, the music really helps the intensity, a few problems as far as going through walls and things but other than that great game.
Woah, this looks prett cool!
Pro - Clever optional tutorial - Great art and effects - Smooth controls - Clever idea to use health as ammunition! - Can even break stuff by shooting at it - Hot fireballs
Con - Bit heavy on the screenshake :D - Music gets a little bit repetitive after a while; but that's complaining about super tiny details, sorry
All in all, excellent work!

Great art, music, and sound effects, it was a lot of fun to play! Though on the room down from the first health shop, I accidentally got out of bounds through the bottom right wall, and wasn't able to get back in.

Very fun game, I appreciate you being honest about the art. The music had me pumped. I did get stuck in the wall a few times. Overall very fun game. Very impressive for 1 person!
Hi all, thanks so much for all the feeback! As with the issue of getting stuck in walls, I believe you mean that when you go to the bottom of the room you cannot see the player? I did that to show how the player is hiding behind the walls but I see now that it just adds confusion so in the future, I'll remove that.
@jacksgamessucks I used GIMP for the pixel art. I'm not great at it but I found that creating a colour pallete and sticking with that really helps.
That was a lot of fun. Nice use of your created assets and the dodge feels very good.
I like these sorts of graphics because they really highlight the game mechanics. Fortunately, this title is REALLY solid. Spellcasting was a treat and your use of lighting is pristine. A little laggy on my laptop, but after getting to a beefier machine it really shone. You should definitely be proud of this, I'd love to see this continue development post-dare!

Great game, the movement is resposive and smooth, the shooting gave loads of feed back and the particles effect looked brilliant. I also liked the affect when you destroy the funiture.

Wow! Your game is amazing! It was a cool magic battle experience. I had saved my brother, not from the first time, but I did it! I really love your game design! Especially the idea to mix health and weapon. And the tutorial is very fluent ) Very-very great job! Is it the new Unity 2D-lighting?
@yolziii yep, it's the new lights. I really liked them so I thought they'd be worth adding to the game.
The amount of polish here is awesome! The gameplay, the lighting, the music, and the visuals all work really well together and make for a really fun experience. Feels silly but my only complaint is that I wanted to play more of it :)

GREAT game cant say more graphics gameplay music everything is very polished shooting projectiles is satisfying there is only 2 things very annoying you get blocked by the wall and when u go down you cant see your self behind the wall. other than that well done
Impressive visuals I like lighting effects.. also the whole controls and movement felt really solid. Audio was very fitting I event didn't noticed it.. it was very natural, just I would expect from a full game. Great work.

That lighting's super dope though.
What's your shader?

Very solid music, controls and idea! My only complaint can be about the camera, I'd suggest moving it a bit towards the mouse.
Awesome game! Awesome fireballs! Really like the graphics. Smooth gameplay. There are problems about the borders(walls). Player gets lost under the walls and in some spot I got out the game area and lost in the darkness :smirk: . Congrats...

beautiful game! I like the idea of health usage for spellcasting, and the pixel art is really dope. love this game!
@drevilbrain Yeah I found that after I'd already released it  the shaders are just the default I believe (unity) but to get the textures to react to light, I had to switch the lighting mode on the material. I also added the flicker using [perlin noise.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perlin_noise)
