Good work! Love the art and light effects
@cdkml Thanks! Glad you like it.
Great job! I love how you indicate the health bar through the lights of the submarine. When it goes down to 1 health it do flickering and stuff very realistic. The sea environment is moody and scary. I love it.
@baconn00 Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it. I'm uploading a new patch right now. Even more scary enemies.
I love the theme, especially as I am a water nerd myself. Great job on the game! Since my main focus is audio I wish there was a bit more depth in that as to also help support the theme of depth hehe. But other than that a solid game. I love the art style, very nicely executed. It is a bit difficult to control the rotation.
Sincerely ♥ AQUAGON
Very nice, graphics are really cool and the most important, the game is fun. Just pay attention to smalls jellyfish, I confuse them with ennemies.
Very cool game, you nailed the theme! The art style is pretty and the gameplay is a lot of fun. Nice job!
Really nice! The music is perfect for the mood and the graphics look great! Just didnt understand the lights instead of health bar, that was kinda confusing! But great job ! HighScore 1628 for now :)
Nice artwork and music, first attempt was a bit confusing (740 points) but then I managed to go a bit deeper (1244 points). Good entry :) Bonus points for the neat light effect lol
Really cool arcade game. I really liked the graphics. They fish and the submarine looked really pretty! The music also fit the theme. It's a little difficult but still fun. Good Job :)
Nice art style! I would say the control needs a bit work but that's really a minor issue.
Yooo this is cool. I like how the obstacles are actually tall in 3d space? Well I'm guess that's what they are. Gives a creepy mood like Darkwood vibes
Nice graphics! The shadows and pixel art work really well together to create a spooky atmosphere. The controls on the menu (arrows) don't seem to work, it's just WASD which might be a bit tricky for people with European keyboards, and it doesn't mention that you can press space to drop a mine! The drop-a-mine mechanic is really cool, the way that you can drop a lot but they are dangerous for your sub turns it into a cool risk/reward mechanic. That was my favourite mechanic I've seen so far, hopefully lots of people try pressing space to see it. Cool game, nice mood and audio as well.
@felixmreeve Thanks for the thorough feedback! We are updating the game to have an up to date control scheme in the menu. The mine will also be added to the controls. Thanks for playing!
Great game! The sub felt great to control and the controls felt very well done, perfect speed and rotation. What was your strategy for spawning things infinitely the deeper you go? It was the first time I tried something like that so I'm curious about other solutions.
My only suggestion is that the sub should be positioned more towards the top of the camera since you are only going in one direction.
Great music a gameplay.
@bernard-bumblebutt Glad you liked it. The controls took quite a lot of time and there are still plenty of players who expect it to be a little different. The submarine can be in the top of the screen if you like. You still go down but a bit slower. It's actually a decent tactic. We wanted the player to be able to choose their playstyle regarding where the submarine would be (every now and then mines are dropped from the top as well so being in the top of your screen and locked would not work with the mines).
The obstacles are spawned with a random interval within a certain range so as an example: every 40 - 75 seconds / difficulty with as extra criteria the depth the player is. So some objects only spawn when you are at a certain depths.
Thanks for the feedback and playing!
@eugenik Thank you! Our audio artist hasn't made a lot of audio before so I'm sure he will love your feedback :D
@felixmreeve Thank you! I might do a patch where other controls and or inverted might be selected in the menu/game over screen.
@peterfiftyfour I don't know the game you referenced so I'll look it up! It is indeed with a faked 3D effect in 2D. Glad you liked it and thanks for playing!
Great music and soundscape, grapics are beautiful and the shadow effect is really well down and effective.
Good work!
Great work! You did a fine job with the graphics, both the quality of the assets and the color scheme. I also liked what you did with the lighting. For me the strongest point was probably the music and the sound effects, they created a very moody, even nostalgic, atmosphere. Very straight implementation of the theme, you are literally going deeper and deeper.
Pretty simple and clear. Nice visuals and sound.
