This game definitely had my laughing >). It took a while for it to get challenging, but I also appreciate the time taken for the player to get used to the mechanics. Your intro voice over and sheep sounds are hilarious. Thanks for sharing!

@matt-burton Thank you! I think I had as much fun recording it as you had while listening to it :D I'm glad you liked it :)

A fun little game! Though I should mention that I ran into a bit of a bug where Doggo was sent flying off the screen. :(

criggles 2020-04-21 06:53

We ended up with similar ideas! Fellow protectors of sheep.

I really loved the intro, very funny all round. Very fun to play especially later on when the challenge picks up.

If you get more time to work on it, it would be cool if the sheep would move away from doggo so that you can kind of guide them around to safety.

mehrdadsh 2020-04-21 07:09

my kind of game, love the humer

d4rkweasel 2020-04-22 06:29

@mikejzx Thank you! Yeah, I know that bug. Sorry at the end I didn't have the time to fix it :(

@criggles Thank you very much! Actually the sheep should aleady move to the center when doggo barks at them, but either it is not obvious enough or a bug is preventing it :D Maybe I'll look into it later :D I'll check out your game, too! We protectors of sheep must stick together, haha! :D

@mehrdadsh Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)

Fun game! THe physics sent me flying away whenever i touched the sheep which makes me think maybe they dont need my protection! Good job!

ricefarmerlenin 2020-04-22 07:10

It was a fun game until my dog got YEETED by the sheep. Great game!

shubh 2020-04-22 07:11

I am suprised that you made a game which is nice in 42 hrs

svenerik 2020-04-22 07:13

A really nice idea, though somehow the collisions with the sheep bugged me a lot, I got stuck in midst of them at times and perhaps the pacing could be a little bit faster. Waited quite a bit doing nothing after the first wolf. Overall a solid experience. Having maybe foxe's as enemies too who would be faster would make it more active, though I guess there's always room to improve on. Good job!

That was fun! The sound effects are hiliarious. There's something amazing about watching the wolves get thrown back off the map  . Good entry overall!

BRACE YOURSELVES! Good boys incoming. Can't stop to press SPACE to win.

lt-farfetchd 2020-04-22 07:19

Had a bit of trouble getting the web version to run (probably just crummy internet though). Found it really funny, especially your voiced sound effects, that was glorious. The effect barking actually had didn't seem totally clear-cut to me (does it automatically stop a wolf if you bark at it once? And I couldn't tell how close I had to be). But super cute and enjoyable. Nice job!

virtuaworlds 2020-04-22 07:19

haha. like the "wuff" sound effect and music. i got launched off screen and couldn't come back and all the jaguars ate my sheep :( . nice game

dandala88 2020-04-22 07:21

I was going to point out that there is a bug that makes you fly off but it looks like other people have already caught that for you. Otherwise - I love these voice overs. So good. I mean you must have recorded those right? Anyway, the concept makes sense for the theme so good job! If there was something more than a ramp up of enemies - sorry I missed it.

ponypen 2020-04-22 07:24

This game made me laugh, sadly I got flung off the screen multiple times by my sheep- which was funny until sadly I could not make my way back and all of my sheep became lamb chops. Great game, nice artwork, funny soun effects and good replayability. One thing you could add is different enemies like birds of prey, foxes, kids? These enemies could move at different speeds and give the game a little bit more challenge.

weirdybeardyman 2020-04-22 11:43

Haha it's definitely got good bizarre humor, I like how the wolves just disappear when you bark at them, it's a good concept, though like some others I got flung off screen by the sheep and couldn't find my way back :)

gaminghamster 2020-04-22 11:56

The evil sheep threw me off the map! XD Despite that though, this is a funny game. Those voiceovers are pretty funny and the way the sheep bounce around is really cute ^^ Would be nice with some visual feedback that barking at the wolves is working, but this is a solid compo entry ^^

@taximan981 @ricefarmerlenin @shubh @svenerik @43sam @morel-8 @lt-farfetchd @virtuaworlds @dandala88 @ponypen @weirdybeardyman @gaminghamster Thank you all! :)

@svenerik @dandala88 Yeah, the collisions are not perfect, I know :D But I ran out of time, before I could fix the issue :D

@lt-farfetchd Yes, the barking stops all wolves that are in your radius. Sorry that it's a bit unclear how it works. I tried to show, that you successfully barked away a wolf, by turning the wolf away as soon as it is hit by your bark.

@dandala88 Yeah, I recorded the voice overs and edited them with audacity :D

@svenerik @ponypen Yeah, different enemy typed would have been great, but I already spent one day making the 3D models and animations you see (because I had to learn Blender first :D).

erkberg 2020-04-24 19:41

The game is pretty funny, the visuals and audio work quite well to transport the humor, but I felt like gameplay was a bit boring tbh. It was pretty easy to scare away the wolves, and there was not enough feedback to show that I actually 'hit' them with my bark, they just disappeared a second later (or not...). The physics feel a tiny bit broken, which surprisingly led to more fun than the actual gameplay itself :) Would've loved to see the game double down on this aspect, right now I'm imagining the doggos bark affect the sheep as well, but in a totally over-exaggerated way, like sending them flying away, possibly towards the wolves. This way the player would also need to think about where to use barking. And there would be a lot of chaos, which I'd totally love. Just an idea if you want to work more on the game.

masterkrepta 2020-04-25 01:17

The intro was pretty fun. Ironically, my dog was looking at me as the game loaded so that was an experience!

The graphics were impressive for a first time Blender user. I Agree with some of the previous comments, the lack of feedback to let me know I was hitting the wolves made it hard to verify I was having an effect.

captaindreamcast 2020-04-26 14:43

I absolutely adore the sound effects, they add so much charm and humor to the game. Also that title screen was hilarious, love the doggo.

There was an interesting challenge added by the sheeps moving, in my case they tended to move into corners, where you have to take extra care of the wolves coming from that direction, that led to some dangerous moments for my little sheeps. Very fun game, great job (especially on also learning Blender during the timespan, that's amazing, I would have never guessed those were your first models/animations from looking at the game)!
