I got a little motion sick on my 49 zoll monitor :smirk:

Nice car feeling

Woah the drifting is so natural, and the camera angle's so interesting. Did you use the built-in vehicle 3d node in godot? really fun game, and kindda challenging too. I made it to the end!

Superb car physics

kyboon 2021-10-04 21:34

Fun game! I like that the car control is unstable too, which match the theme quite well. Also nice SFX, a lot of jam games have music but no SFX. Yours is the other way around. If you could add in some music, the game will feel much better.

I tried using built-in vehicle nodes, but couldn't set it up with my model. I decided to do the Sphere controller. So I embedded a RigidBody Sphere into car model and car model follows it and you actually control the Sphere :)

I love it!! "You know what DK stands for?"

Nice game, the car controller and camera took a second to get used to but they were cool, and by the last level the only thing I would say about about the car controller is that when you reverse it should steer the opposite direction, the drift is fun though. I like the way sphere car controllers feel, did you use Kenney's one as a base? The jump at the end was a nice touch! Also at one point my car got tipped up and when the engine exploded I flew off into the sky, that was pretty fun and I got the see the HDRI you used :D

stanroy 2021-10-04 22:06

@weirdybeardyman I said to myself that no one will be able to jump that high, so I didn't put the roof collider, but now I see I should've haha. Yes, I used a controller based off of Kenny's.

weirdybeardyman 2021-10-04 22:12

@stanroy nice, I can blame kenney for the reverse then :D

Really fun and simple game It felt super cool going through the hoop :) I like how the car had to repaid itself using the spanners and the controls were really nice and responsive great job :)

aplegatt 2021-10-05 12:15

Nice arcadey feel this game has. Drifting was a lot of fun. Collecting spanners was a lot frustrating. Good job :)

der-mondhase 2021-10-05 20:03

The drifting mechanics and graphics feel good, but it was a bit too hard for me. Good job with the 3D models and the drift physics!

vodzik 2021-10-05 20:16

Nice game. Car controls, its model and sounds are fine. Spanners collecting could have some sound effect, to give player additional feedback

xparker 2021-10-05 20:51

I liked your game, simple in design yet effective. Drifting mechanics are quite good once you get the gang of it. cleared on second attempts.

sli 2021-10-05 21:49

Pretty addicting actually. I liked how you designed the difficulty. Very good entry for a first Jam, Good Job!

vimlark 2021-10-05 23:00

Great work. Not too hard but still challenging to control. Really enjoyed it!

I winlost! I can see you had some good fun in Godot making 3D models, experimenting with lights etc. Was definitely a bit tough with some slippery car effects.. felt more like I was controlling a ball than a car, but the sound was good, camera was interesting, and it had a good arcade feel. Thanks for submitting!

stanroy 2021-10-06 14:47

@ollieoa Let's call it a feature for now, a rare ending if you please hahah. Anyhow, I probably should've done more testing for those close call situations, but I was more focused on making the game actually playable (which I had trouble with). So thank you for playing and finding a bug! ^^

kromeboy 2021-10-06 18:16

Loved the drift: quite hard to get at first but fun when you got the hang. Fortunatly the car can reverse full speed or I culdn't beat the game

Great entry!

lucasvb 2021-10-06 18:27

Pretty surprising how disorienting the camera can be, but it's also a little satisfying when your brain "clicks" and gets used to it.

matthewsworld 2021-10-06 19:22

Fun short game! Once you get used to the camera and controls, beating every level as fast as possible is super satisfying. God job!

trizalio 2021-10-19 07:02

Races are not my type, so this game was quire difficult for me I ended on third level, with golden spanners Nice modelling, love the style, simple and clean! Very nice to see more godot projects =)

zeilanda 2021-10-19 09:10

Uhh, this game is little hard for me, but really good) Like your work with 3D. Physics is great))
