Very nice atmosphere: the music is great and the graphics are good too. I didn't really get the intented way to beat the game though, there seemed to be very little fuel and I didn't know what that second bar did. On the third try I just spun really fast, bounced off the moon and got flown into outer space after which the ending credits appeared.

freeworld 2020-10-05 07:25

Very nice looking game with a great music, mood, visuals and mechanic! I love the moon and the sound effects :D Unfortunately I often got stuck on the moon or in space without fuel, just drifting along with no fuel bubbles or asteroids hitting me xD and the dialogue at the beginning was a bit too slow for a quick restart :P I really like that there is dialogue though, it creates a great atmosphere together with the music!

Overall: great game which fits the theme perfectly, I'm impressed!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-05 11:12

@mincho Thank you for playing and rating, I really appreciate the feedback. I really struggled and ran out of time to correctly balance the game and make the mechanics feel challenging yet fun, I'm glad you enjoyed it though, sorry it's too hard!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-05 11:14

@freeworld Thanks freeworld, I'm sorry I just couldn't balance the game correctly before the time ran out and make it compelling enough, thank you for the kind feedback!

ellladee 2020-10-05 17:12

Oh my gosh, what a beauty! Love it

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-05 19:46

@ellladee thank you!

barrier 2020-10-06 16:19

The mood is great, cool music and art is nice! I wish you could skip the intro as it takes a long time before you can start playing and then you make a mistake and can't restart quickly. Or maybe I'm missing something.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-06 16:30

@barrier thank you, yeah that would definitely be a good thing for me to add!

madbookstudios 2020-10-06 20:46

Thematic. Moving. Story telling. Brilliant sound effects of you going "Pshhhhh". What more could you want? I was really impressed by this game - amazing stuff well done :D

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-06 22:37

Thank you @madbookstudios making the sound effects was super fun :D always one of my favourite parts of a game jam.

roolow 2020-10-07 01:56

fantastic music. most beautiful thing I've heard in a compo.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-07 12:45

@roolow aww thank you very much!

judgezedd 2020-10-07 15:25

Never felt so sad for a satellite before. Gonna go and have a word with NASA about not being mean to the ones up in space, I think. Really nice, very polished and comprehensive for a weekend's worth of development. Very good indeed.

fumybulb 2020-10-07 16:01

This game is so beautiful⭐

I agree about the audio part - making sound for games is fun :)

I wonder if it's possible to go back to the moon after leaving orbit (haven't tried it yet)

Хорошая работа!

fumybulb 2020-10-07 16:05

By the way, LMMS is a great tool 🎧

pschichtel 2020-10-07 17:35

Nice little game, pretty relaxing

rgilpt 2020-10-07 17:36

@weirdybeardyman very naive and enjoyable game :) not sure how to get more RCS. Maybe extras for this game would be possible to get space debris and create Reaction wheels :D and solar sails... Really enjoy the game :)

roikku 2020-10-07 17:39

Simple and fun game. :) Keep it simple.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-07 18:25

@judgezedd Thanks, yeah who knew Satellites were so depressed?

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-07 18:26

@fumybulb Спасибо большое!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-07 18:27

@pschichtel @rgilpt @roikku Thanks guys for playing the game and the feedback. I definitely should have made green balls for more RCS or something.

lereveur 2020-10-07 22:21

“When the Gods wish to punish us, they answer our prayers.” ― Oscar Wilde Nice little game, even if it's mainly a fate of random to finish it! Anyways, good job!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-07 22:52

@lereveur Thank you for playing and rating the game, yeah sorry about that :D

jin9310 2020-10-08 08:31

"Stop staring at me moon"! Love it, you have a little story there, and great music and minimalictic effects that supports the overall mood. I love to imagine how intense the situation for the crew of such space object could be in this situation, and next to it the contrast of calm music. For me this is a great representation of a space. As space seems to be so quiet and calm, yet no one can hear you scream! :) Just only one addition would be great to have. The ability to skip the intro, in favor of trying to repeat the mission and try to get out of this unfavorable situation! Great , great job done!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-08 10:16

@jin9310 Thanks for the nice feedback, yeah a skippable intro would definitely be better!

omnes-ludos 2020-10-08 18:59

Nice game! I love the music!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-08 20:33

Thanks @omnes-ludos

Not a bad idea, but the intro dialogue was a huge barrier to me wanting to retry the escape. I tried it out three times without a successful escape. It seems the further you get from the moon the less likely you are to be hit, whether it be by solar balls or asteroids which makes escape attempts that are unsuccessful that much more frustrating as you ping pong from one far side of the moon to the other.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-15 11:30

@apples-mmmmmmmm yep fair enough, I appreciate the criticism, I definitely wasn't able to achieve the game loop and balance I wanted.

ruthiepee 2020-10-16 18:22

The somber text, the dark color palette, and the moody music all contribute to a wonderful atmosphere. My only critique of the style is... why does the moon have a smiley face on it? lol. Like others I found the controls a bit unwieldy and the amount of gas you have at the beginning a little unforgiving. But the atmosphere you created makes it overall an enjoyable experience.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-17 09:24

@ruthiepee Thank you, I'm glad you liked the atmosphere. I don't know I thought adding a smiley face to the moon and a sad face to the satellite would make you feel even sadder for the satellite :) Thanks for the feedback!

egan-henderson 2020-10-18 03:39

I really love this game. It's got a very sombre tone and the music really adds to the feeling of emptiness and being alone. I like that the moon has a smiley, makes me feel like the moon is content to have the satellite in orbit around it. The poor little satellite drifting off forever into the endless void definitely makes me feel something. This game found its atmosphere and nailed it, good job!

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-18 11:10

@egan-henderson thank you! I definitely feel best about the mood, not so sure about the gameplay itself haha

lyje 2020-10-24 23:06

Really nice atmosphere! Gameplay is a bit tricky to get used to, but satisfying when you get it.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-25 10:55

@lyje thanks for playing and rating, I appreciate it!

midorimelody 2020-10-25 17:11

Really cool game. I love the sounds effects. For me i was a bit hard to control where I was moving but it was still cool to loop around the moon.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-25 18:21

Thanks @midorimelody yeah I definitely need to refine the controls.

healthire 2020-10-26 20:25

Beautiful game, very atmospheric with great music. The gameplay was pretty easy, I completely messed up at the start and used up all my RCS fuel crashing into the moon but still managed to make it out of orbit.

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-27 22:41

@healthire Thank you for the positive feedback, I think you're the first person to say the gameplay is easy, do you work for NASA? :)

weirdybeardyman 2020-10-28 00:30

Thank you so much everyone for playing and rating, I had such a good time making this game and I can't believe the results, I'm absolutely chuffed!
