Fun roguelike shooter!! The shooting mechanics grew on me very quickly, theres definitely a lot of room for skill with the sideways cannon pirate shooting, more than youd expect
great entry!

great entry!
Nice this was a lot of fun! Really enjoyed this one. The core mechanics are really solid and feel great. Could see this with a little bit of refinement and added detail getting really addicting! Hope to see more great job getting this in the compo!
Awesome work! The models of the ships look great. Fun take on a shooter.
The cannon upgrades are my favorite part. You could have just made them shoot more in the same direction, but the different spread patterns make shooting interesting. The number of enemies got chaotic really quick but I was able to make it to 68 kills before dying. My only main complaint is the camera is a bit dizzying and an audio bug caused the music to keep restarting every time I shot. Other than that, pretty fun entry!
I clicked so much I think I shivered my own timbers. Got 94 kills in the process. I liked that there wasn't a separate upgrade phase and I could upgrade during the action. I did have some trouble getting more than 20 fps on my 750 Ti, but it was the price I had to pay to get all that pirate booty.
Fun game. I loved getting max cannon upgrades and a handful of attack speed upgrades, sailing into the middle of a huge fleet of enemy ships, and just spinning in circles as a whirling death machine as I watched everyone nearby disappear! I appreciated being able to turn really quick with wasd. Also found the ships that ended up on the shore to be quite amusing. Had to stop cause there's no auto fire, and my hand was starting to hurt haha. Good work!
@bosco Rogue-like? I reckon ye 'ave high expectations fer me genre. But thank ye. May yer skill at sideways shootin' ne'er leave ye!
@bloodfin @torban Thank ye fer yer kind words. I be glad ye had fun.
@pianoman373 An audio bug? Shiver me timbers! Sorry to 'ave missed that scallywag. Yer advice be much appreciated.
@kymakesgames Aye, the price ye paid was a dear one. But ye kept goin', so well done. I salute yer shivered timbers 'n yer flaggin' graphics card.
@t-c Yar! A whirlin' death machine indeed. I be glad ye enjoyed yer wheel o' destruction 'n I hope yer hand survived as well.
:D so much fun! Almost forgot to come back and rate it haha
Good job MATE!
Loved it! The cannon progression felt nice. Had some audio issues when shooting too much.
Addicting and fun game! Took me a few tries before figuring out the best strat and became an invincible gatling gun of a pirate ship. Would have liked to see a upgrade that could pull inn treasure from afar and that shooting worked on holding mouse down instead of having to click. Cool water reflection as well!
Very cool idea (and cool game name). There is not many games out there with theme of ships.
I like the upgrades. It was satisfying to rip through all those ships like an ultimate killing machine :) After 15 minutes of playing I was so overpowerd I didn't even need more "Faster reload" because I couldn't click faster :D
I also like the music and ship model.
@roberto-romao Ay, me matey! What be a ratin' worth when ye be cavortin' at sea? Thank ye mighty much.
@diego-teran Sorry fer the audio issues but I be glad ye got yer cannons.
@coldays Pullin' in loot would 'ave been an excellent idea 'n holdin' down the mouse button be a clear improvement. I be glad ye enjoyed even wit' its flaws.
@owca 'tis mighty satisfyin' to see yer enemy's sails sink beneath the waves. I be glad yer harvest was bountiful. Thank ye kindly fer yer compliments.
solid little game, the core combat and upgrade mechanism are completed pretty well. The movement of the ship/cannon ball are too flat however, it does not quite feel like a ship moving on the sea and cannon ball should have like moving super fast as first and a bit slower over time. some more feedback/anim like shooting shake the ship a bit will add lot more juice to the gameplay. oh also having some effect on water will be great. Overall I think this is good but lack of polishing. good job anyway
Fun and pretty slick! I think the water could've done with a bit more love but a truly impressive job modelling the ships, they look fantastic. Gameplay and music both very solid, and I appreciated the little pirate jokes in the UI. All around a very solid entry.
Great game, fun to play and looks great! The ships maybe turn a little too quickly and made me feel a little dizzy and the cannon balls could maybe move faster relative to the ships but I had a good time and it was an impressive game!
Fun game!
The ramp up to challenging is a little slow and I feel like I could laze about for a while.
Does it ramp up off purchased upgrades? or time? I couldnt exactly tell, but didnt try to test it out much.
Ended up lasting about 5 min.
It was a fun event when i happened to shoot a treasure chest and it got lobbed into the air. Nice touch here.
I love the interpretation of the theme! The ship models look pretty cool, but I was left desiring for more in terms of graphics. Maybe the water could have had some particle effects or waves?
The pirate language in the menus is great and it feeds into theme well. The gameplay is a tried-and-true loop. I liked the cannon upgrades, it was a nice twist from just adding more cannons on either side. The enemy AI was a bit too easy, at least for me? I felt like I would've been more engaged with harder gameplay.
Overall, very solid entry! Well done
Very fun take on the theme, and a well put together game. I enjoyed the different upgrades, and I thought that locking them behind both a consumable resource and the number of kills was a clever way to discourage me from just saving for some of the more expensive upgrades, I would have had to wait for the kills anyway. I found the turning speed of the boat, while it worked well for the gameplay once there were a lot of enemies, to be a bit jarring in the beginning. To me it felt less like piloting a ship and more like turning a knob. The music and overall theming of your game was great, the pirate vibe really came through. Overall a very cool game, with a bit more to it I could see myself playing this one a lot. Well done!
p.s. Why does hitting escape end my game? I just wanted to pause and tab out of the game.
Excellent game! Simple, but strategic and fast-paced. Great job with the controls.
