Good fun game, it kept me in that "just one more try" loop.. haha Well done
I liked it! Sometimes obstacles popped up right in front of me, but not too often; it would be neat if they could spawn in a region behind the car so you would be able to see them coming. Thanks for making it; great job!
@fractalsunrise Glad you liked it! There is actually a check to make sure that obstacles don't spawn in an area directly in front of the car, but clearly it wasn't enough. Only spawning them in an area behind the car is way smarter. Thanks for the feedback.
Pretty fun little game. The interface is very nice. I like the details like choosing which color car you can use, the engaging title screen and having an icon for your game. The music is really fun too but gets annoying after a bit because the loop is so short. Very nice game!
The kind of idea that so ingeniously simple I wish I had thought of it! Really fun with surprising levels of depth to it. Music loop is cool and adds real excitement.
An idea for an obstacle could be other cars. Moving obstacles would definitely make it more dynamic feeling.
Good job!
@jam373 Thanks for the feedback! Now that you mention it, cars as obstacles feels really obvious. I'll be sure to try that out if we make a post-jam version. Thanks for playing!
Congrats ! One of my favourite entry so far. It's original and the controls are responsive. However, it could contain more types of enemies.
Nice game! :) :race_car: :race_car:
Fun little game. Not very complex, but has the potential to become addictive. I also think it could be easily extended, maybe with items, etc. Good job!
Nice game!
Nice idea with cool execution. The art is clean and understandable, the music fits nicely. The controls feels responsive.
The random placement of obstacles does not work very well. Most of the time, they are not in your way anyway, and sometimes, they are just to close in front of you to react. I believe that such games could use pseudo random obstacles, such as forcing an obstacle half a turn away right in front of you from time to time to make gameplay more interesting.
Also, stucking to the outside wall feels a bit broken! I just did more than 40 turns without doing anything, I don't know if it's infinite because I quit at 42 but it feels like it. Capazfsqvqvture.PNG
Thanks for the game I had fun 💕
@doot Thanks for the feedback! I do agree with you that the obstacle placement doesn't work all that well. Like you said, they aren't in your way enough, and the system to make them not spawn in front of you isn't very good. I will probably rework the spawning system if we make a post-jam version. Also, I simply didn't set the max spawning distance high enough, so you could just drive around next to the wall forever. That would definitely be fixed in a post-jam version. But I'm glad you enjoyed the game despite it's flaws!
I really liked it! Simple and tasteful.
I like how simple and addictive this game is!
I love finding other games that had the same idea as us, great minds clearly think alike. Because I also worked on a game like this, I tried riding the inside/outside walls almost immediately to see if your spawning was set up right because our game also has that issue lol. I like the consistent visuals, but I think it could be more readable if the car was a different color from all the obstacles.
Hi! Great game! I love the idea of it, the execution could be a bit cleaner tho'. The random placement sometimes puts obstacles right in front of me and next to other obstacles, making it impossible to avoid. You would either need some sort of clever placement which knows that the obstacle can be avoided ... or ... simply place them on the other half of the track so that player has time to adapt to new situation. That could seem simple but with increasing speed will proof challenging as well I believe.
Music is suiting, graphics is nice, idea is great. Overall great experience. :) Thank you for your submission.
Nice little simple game, I like the fact that you put music and sfx in there, even if the engine sounds were a little annoying over time. The control of the vehicle is pretty good too and you perfectly completed the theme. I would agree with @kallthar about the placement of the obstacles, it might be good to have a flashing sprite appear that you don't collide with to warn you before it fully appears or something like that. Great submission though!
Cool game! I think there are cool possibilities with a looping driving game, but you have not added any mechanic that is unique to a looping game. For example, an infinite runner style game with random obstacles is effectively the same as this. Would like to see some mechanic that is unique to looping, like paths or tracks that you can go on that loop around rather than just a plain circle or switching between loops kind of like how your menu looks, for example. I think this game would also benefit from less randomness in the obstacle placement. Having series of barriers that act to force you away or towards the circle I think would be more interesting than all random single obstacles. Great job, would like to see more added to this!
