The art looks really nice and I like the concept! I think your game has a lot of potential. definitely one of the more professional games that I've played so far.
I really like the concept and art, nice work!
what a clever idea! it was fun and I really like the visuals! i'd like to have seen longer words and a little more variation with the obstacles, but nice work! the game felt pretty polished for a jam game.
This is really well done! It's fun, looks great and overall feels very polished.
The audio sounded really professional. The game was short, but I enjoyed it!
I agree! sadly I only had 4-8hrs to work on it by myself so I had to use any premade music I could find. I actually didn't think i'd have time to add any music honestly, but I got some from opengameart.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it :)
Lol! I did actually consider the possibility someone might try mashing and meant to check for that but forgot xD I'll have to fix it next time I work on it. I wanted to add something for combos but wasn't sure what it should do :x was thinking maybe it would give the player a temporary speed boost to get away from the truck or initiate a bonus mode where you get 2x the score. I'd really like to add more interaction between the presses and what happens with the character
@mic-matrix91 @Amatwiedle @hello-coder Thanks for the positive feedback everyone!
@tg1397 I was thinking the same thing! I've been debating how I might be able to do it and have a few ideas i'm going to try that could be a huge improvement.
@Akadream I'm not sure why but all the games I make are notoriously hard for some reason lol :p
@Tikikala Sorry about that xD normally I add a start and game over screen, but I started this game when there was like 24 hrs of the jam left lol.
@theArtifacts Thanks! Sure, i'll try your game now.
@chriiis88 @DUUUUDE I did actually think of a good solution to not being able to see the player, but unfortunately it was only after the jam ended. I'm going to try implementing my new idea today and if it's fun i may finish the game. The solution is to get rid of the lower bar, choose a smaller resolution and make it so that you have to press the arrows as they appear around the player sprite
@derek-brouwer Thanks for the advice! I actually thought the same thing and am working on a version with that now. Just wish I thought of that during the jam lol. I think the reason i may not have come to that conclusion sooner was because I started with the guitar hero/ddr section at the bottom before anything else. If this new version is fun enough and works out i may release it on kongregate and as an app.
The way you combined the two genres was well done and I really liked the pixel art! Thought I could block off the enemies from getting to the cookie with turrets, but I like how you prevented that with the path. good job!
I like the mood and the typing made it tense! The way you used command prompt was well done.
I'm impressed with the level of polish and how you set up the slopes. Very well done!
