404 on your link... :(

mrjoshuamclean 2020-04-20 17:53

Hey, you supplied the link to edit the game instead of the play link. Hope you fix it soon!

hulien22 2020-04-20 17:55

I think you linked your personal edit itch.io page. Should probably switch that to the actual game link (click "View page" on that link)

cooperjknapp 2020-04-20 17:58

For those who are looking for the actual link, after a bit of searching on Itch, I found it! https://jonasknochelmann.itch.io/pulse-ludemdare46

jonaspk 2020-04-20 18:24

Sorry all for the bad link; lots of chaos submitting the game. Thanks to @cooperjknapp for finding the proper link and thanks you all for letting me know!

Reminded me of the minigame in bioshock you had to play all the time to unlock things. Had a good time playing it.

jonaspk 2020-04-24 16:15

@tyler-anders Thank you! I was inspired by those kinda games, glad you had a good time.

emperor-eagle 2020-04-25 05:52

Really good game! I enjoyed playing it and found myself getting better over time (shows that the design is good)! A timer would be good and some polishing to make the body parts that come out be more likely to help you could be good (but advanced to implement). The art is fantastic and some extra audio would really spice it up. Great game and an enjoyable experience!

jonaspk 2020-04-25 14:54

@emperor-eagle Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it. A timer is definitely the feature I am beating myself up over, because it would have been so easy to add and added so much to the game. I also agree with that, because the game can be very random at times. Thank you, I agree, and thanks for all the feedback. I'm really happy you had a good time!

It is delightfully gross. Cool sfx! Hard but fun.

selftitled 2020-04-26 08:14

Theres blood everywhere now. Good take on the theme and those sounds really makes the game feel a bit gross. I'd like to be able to rotate the pieces though.

joror 2020-04-27 18:59

Nasty graphics :D - the gameplay is a bit hard to follow sometimes - putting in pipes immediately stop blood seems like the most straightforward tactic. It isn't clear for all pieces what their 'connection' points are, but trial and error helped there a bit.

Nicely done!

jonaspk 2020-04-27 19:52

@joror Thank you. The game play being unclear is the biggest complaint I've heard so far for sure - pipes do stop bleeding at first, but will bleed after a few seconds, I do wish I had communicated that more clearly. That is another thing I've seen confusion over, I wish I had made that more clear too. Thanks for the feedback!

jk5000 2020-04-30 18:46

The graphics and the sounds is really creepy and fun. The gameplay idea is also fun, but I wish that I could rotate the the objects. This is overall a good jam game. Well done.

Great game! Interesting concept, once I got past the initial "wtf" stage I really enjoyed playing it. Seems silly at first but is actually a surprisingly deep game. What happens if you connect up the inputs? Never quite managed it :) If there was some kind of scoring system or win condition this would be really cool. Lots of potential here actually, you could have different levels with unique goals etc. Could be a fun mobile game maybe.

well done!

jonaspk 2020-05-01 15:47

@japes Thank you for the feedback! I've noticed a lot of players have an initial "wtf" stage, so I am really glad you played past it and had a good time. Nothing special happens if you connect the inputs, except that there is less bleeding. And thank you, I did mean to add a scoring system but it slipped my mind during the last few hours; I'd like to make a post-LD version of the game with scores or levels and a tutorial to flatten out the curve a bit. Thanks a lot!

tayfun 2020-05-01 22:49

absolutely deserves to be ranked. Happy 20th ratings:)

winterbeak 2020-05-05 03:41

- Managed to net a consistent upwards gain! I can hang around 2800, the max score, for a very, very long time.

aorta.jpg

- Both the yellow sponges and the big rocks only block downwards bleeding. That's why my strategy mostly relied on redirecting clots to face downwards.

wrench.jpg

- How well I did relied mostly on how often those left-down and right-down corner pieces spawned! - The artery at the bottom was open a lot of the time. Redirecting it was too much work, so I mostly only ever blocked it with the 1x1 stopper. You only need to stop 3 arteries to increase your score, anyways! - Play time: 25:52

jonaspk 2020-05-05 14:41

@winterbeak Wow, glad you took the time to figure out a strategy! It is definitely possible to last a very long time using that strategy. I think that in future versions of the game, I will make more L-shaped pieces in different sizes, to encourage more unique connections. Hope those 25 minutes and 52 seconds were fun, thanks for the strategy guide!

lazzydev72 2020-05-07 17:32

Great Game! Keep it Up. :v:

lyje 2020-05-11 13:16

The concept is solid and there's clearly something fun here. But it feels very hard, unnecessarily so in some ways - for example not being able to rotate pieces, not being able to "cancel" the piece you just clicked, and how hard it is to instantly see what connections a piece has while they scroll by so fast. But with those changes I think this could be really good!

jonaspk 2020-05-11 17:25

@lyje Thanks for the feedback! Those are definitely things I'll add for the post-jam version; there was not early as much content in the game as I would have liked. But I'm glad you found something fun!
