I'm REALLY bad at platformers so I did'nt finish the game (I was stuck on the second level, when there's two turrets).
Controls/graphics/sound works really well! I found the bullet to be a little too tiny, it was sometimes not easy to spot them.
Good job, hope some people will manage to finish it!
(you should add a screenshot of the game in the description, maybe more people would want to try it?)
Awesome game! Don’t know if I’m allowed to rate this because I worked on the sound, but it’s a lot of fun!
really fun got stuck once the second turret was added, i think the game could have benefitted from a short hop. Had a lot of fun and your character was supa coot

Nicely done!
Yikes, those turrets down the hallways are tough! Nice difficulty progression. Fun gameplay. Good balance! Very fun to play.
Awesome with tutorial, difficulty progression and funny texts! And the player character was super cute!

The game was fun, and I liked the greyscale aesthetic that you put into it. It would've been nice to see the blood effect and the main menu follow the rest of the game's aesthetics as well. The death counter at the title screen is also a fun addition. In terms of the sound, I found it too loud, so the included mute functionality is nice. I couldn't find a way to unmute without closing the game altogether, though. Additionally, I noticed that if you held A or D into a wall, you wouldn't be able to jump until you walked slightly out of the wall, which happened to me quite a few times.
Overall, fun game, but I wasn't able to finish it. I'm not very good at platformers.
Solid controls and sounds. I find the bean character to be very cute as well. Good job on making this.
Very Nicely done.. Love the White and Black Scheme
The bean is adorable! :)
Fun game, I'm not good at twitch game though so diddn't even make it passed the second level. Those turrets are hard. Felt like the difficulty shot up a lot from the first level to the second. Platforming feels pretty solid, well done.

It's a fun game to play. Also difficult. Great job.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck this game is infuriating lol!
Delightfully devilish! Reminds me of those old flash games that used to make fun for you for dying!
I gave up on a level with 4 guns and 2 shurikens. this is a real difficult game but I still like it)
I eventually gave up on the last saw. Very challenging, and great use of the iterative level design. It would be great to have music that ramps in intensity with the increasing difficulty of the levels. Also, there were some unpleasant sounds that felt like they were clipping or contained clicks/thumps. The music could have looped more smoothly, but it was well suited to the mood of the game, and the music itself did not grow irritating despite the length of time I stubbornly spent trying to complete the game. A great game for a jam and a good difficulty curve that will become challenging to any player eventually. Well done.

The platforming here feels really solid. Although it was frustrating, the solid platforming mechanics made the game feel fair and fun. The sound effects as well are very nice and give the game a good amount of feedback for the player. Great work here!

The graphics could have been a bit more diversified. Looking at gray and white on gray and black is a bit eye straining. But besides that there isn't much to complain about. Solid jump and run. And the voice at the top of the screen made it very personal

You certainly made a challenge platformer all right. Pretty sure I died more to the blue turrets than the "smart" ones. That bit with the thwomp smashing the start is just plain rude, especially since the physics kinda break down and make it really painful to escape the death loop. This one is hard, but I did stumble across the finish line.

Platformer physics were very nice.
**Good game!**
**Here is my feedback:**
**What I liked?** - I liked the SFX and the music. - I liked the door animation/transition. - I liked the visuals. - I liked the level design. - I liked it when you were editing the same level every time. - I enjoyed the gameplay.
**What I disliked?** - The main menu's buttons going back and forth, doesn't look good. - The SFX and the music are too high. - [W]/ [S] and the arrows on the main menu. [1] - FullScreen - َAlmost. [2] - Credits header text looks off. [3] - The player is taking a long time on the jump. - Player particle effect is a bit overkill. It doesn't look good too. - What is this?! No needed for it. [4] - What did you add to the level text. [5]
**Suggestion:** - The ability to select the buttons with the arrow keys. - Maybe, display the submit button on the main menu. - Maybe, move the credits content text to the right a bit. - Hide the cursor. While the game is only controllable with the keyboard. - I suggest you to make the game name to go up and down, instead of moving main menu buttons. - The ability to control the player with arrows. Not every person uses WASD keyboard/ QWERTY layout. - Maybe, on the player movements tutorial make the player can't jump. - Maybe, when I enter the exit door have a one second of delay to notice what happened, something apply it when I got destroyed. - Maybe, display current and max level. - Maybe, make the turret starts shooting until I touch the ground. - Maybe, add the ability to mute audio, to fullscreen, or to switch to windowed, while playing. - Maybe, make the turret can't shoot here. [6] - Maybe, write just Exit/ Quit, or anything like that on the pause menu.

Sorry for the critical feedback.

There's a super meat boy inspiration ^^ I really love the idea that the level is builded little by little. Very clever. The control are very clean. I died a lot when the starting platform disapear, before managing the double jump. (Just perhaps a problem : we cannot jump if we are too close to a wall).Very addictive. And the music is matching very well the rythm of this game. The simplicity of the graphics is enough to enjoy the game. But now you have time to improve it a bit, perhaps. Congratulation guys!

@matootsy Well, it isn't inspired from super meat boy. It's actually from an old flash game called Just Give Up! which you can play in Armor Games, which now has its own game on Steam called Never Give Up!. I messed up with the collision box for the player, so that's probably the reason why.

@ms-annotation-x Thanks for your feedback. I don't mind if you are critical since I have a lot to learn in game development and this is my first time in the Ludum Dare. I like some of your suggestions, so there might be improvements and fixes. Once again, thank you for your critic.

Nice tight platforming controls and I love the idea of making the same level more and more challenging! I don't know if there's more than 2 levels as I didn't get past the "smarter turret". I do think the second level could be a lot less frustrating while still being challenging - it feels like there's no point making the player run along all those spiked floors each time as you've already tested their ability to do so. I'd love to see that level change more structurally to reflect that, rather than just adding more spikes and turrets.

Why the hell would you do this to us?

As a fan of games like Meat Boy and N+, I really enjoyed playing this one! Tough as nails perfect platforming action, exceedingly well executed. I was afraid at the start that it'd be too simplistic, but difficulty really ramped up as rounds went by. The turrets were the bane of my existence for a bit, until I learned how to dodge them properly... and that's when the Saw appeared. And two smart turrets. Bloody heck, that was amazing.
A very difficult yet very satisfying game! These are hard to come by. Greatly well done! :whale:

Wow, very challenging levels (unable to pass through the turrets level...), and the control is very smooth too! Nice works. ^_^
