This is a really cool concept! Graphics are nice, the mechanics are fleshed out and not clunky, and the music and sound effects are nice. Great job!

When packing a game up for a jam, don't put it into an installer. Zip files are the way to go.
Really liked the actual game though. Biggest critique is that the arrows don't really follow the rhythm.
Solid game! Interesting mix, dancing while roboters are approaching is kinda stressful :D It felt very challenging, but never too hard. Good job!
Not bad! The dancing part was actually quite fun when you got in a grove, and the balancing of where to stand, how long you can dance and switching colours all kind of fit together. The dancing animations are great!
If anything it got quite easy be the end as you can almost just avoid the robots stacking up bullets to take care of them in one swoop. However only got around 1000 points so might get very difficult in the end if the spawn rate goes up linearly. A good combo!
Good job on the game!
I played it here: (sorry the computer sound got lost in the process...) https://youtu.be/-ip0FbKG9eg
Good mix of genres, had a little trouble getting off the dance pads when recharging bullets though, but at the same time the robots were a bit too easy to walk past.
A great little game! You got all the important things: gameplay, graphics, music and sound effects. I would have liked a steeper difficulty curve and some more enemy variety. Nice touch with the dancing robots when you die :)
The mechanic is a nice idea, although in practice it's a little hard to play as the sync between music and arrows drifts a lot, and it's difficult to "lock" into the spotlight such that the keys trigger the dance instead of moving.
So I need to dance while enemy is approaching... I like to live dangerously too. Actually, the game is quite easy and to be honest I quitted before dying (My score was 1760). The visuals and music are great but my only nitpick was that the robot felt a bit out of place. The window was a bit big and unresizable (my screen is not FullHD). It also took me some time to notice that the color of the player determines what bullets he shoot. Overall, the game is really fun and I enjoyed it a lot.
@Yetman You can actually resize the window using "z" but i forgot to mention this... A little bit late now xD
Very well done guys, you mix both genres in an interesting way and manage to combine dance and combat by making those two influence each other, that's very nice :) Graphics and audio are very pleasant too, bravo !
Cool disco-floor with the shifting colors and the special dance spots, looks very nice. I also liked the way the character's animations for shooting or walking (especially walking backwards) were all disco-dancey. I played without reading the instructions at first, and figured most of it out but not the mousewheel. Then I alt-tabbed over to read them and it was smooth sailing. I played until I got to the special dance-off and wiped out the rest of the dance-hating robot monsters.
Interesting idea, with the conflict between needing to dance to power up and needing to shoot the robots. I think I personally could have used a bit more speed and difficulty across every aspect, but of course this is just a matter of personal taste, and the relaxed pace certainly let me bask in some of the details that I might not have enjoyed as much in a hectic setting.
Nice work.
I really like the dancing mechanic, but with the difficulty so low its hard to appreciate it. The game looks and sounds great though. Good job!
I love how you use colors! Music is nice and the color-switch mechanics is cool. It's easy to learn but have tons of fun. Congrats!
Nice art, good and hip soundtrack, but I either broke something or some mechanics were not explained. I started the game testing the firing mechanic. "Oh hey, cool, a Samus/Anime power". I started wandering a bit then and ran into the enemies. I tried firing at them, but nothing happened besides the base animation. It looked like I "dry fired". Anyway, I spent the next few minutes trying to figure out how to get it to work again, but nothing worked. Leaves a little to be explained, but it's a great prototype!
@hello-coder There should be no problem... It could be that you ran out of ammo. But thats the main mechanic of the game and should be explained above^^
Cool concept, and application of the theme. Once, I figured out the controls the game was really fun. Come check out our game! Maybe putting some more clear instructions would benefit but overall great game.
