What engine are you using?
Game maker studio 2
Might I ask how you did your rhythm elements, I'm also doing a rhythm game and it'd be cool to see how another developer does it.
Game is now uploaded.
I used hit boxes, spawn timers, a bunch of variables for combos and colors.
I wanted to add a ton of more features, however you can only do so much in 2 days.
What engine are you currently using?
Also game maker. Thanks for sharing, good luck!
Nice concept! The game is designed very well!
I am so bad at this game. Fun and certainly innovative, though!
Cool thanks for the feedback
Cool game, but I am too bad ^^' I have just one thing to say though : racing and dacing are incompatible, but in this game, you ar just dancing, and because of you are dancing, you make the car go forward or backward. But this is just a dance game, not a racing one. I do not know if this is clear, but at my sight, the theme is not respected as much. Otherwise I really like the art and audio :) Kepp coding :)
@Mathiouza yeah my initial plan changed due to a lack of time. I didn't get enough time to add any racing elements besides the car moving. I wanted to do a drag race game or a traditional racing game with powerup items gained through combos.
However I ran out of time lol.
Nice work lads! We also did a very original too, ye mid check it out?

I thought about making a rhythm game but ultimately decided it would be too difficult, so nice job with this one. I wish there was an easy mode though, cause it is very hard for me. What did you use to make the music? It's really nice.
I’m not sure if you were able to see it, but I played your game on my stream at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames tonight.
There might be a bug in the game, because we reached a point where the music just stopped.
I don't know how well racing was fit into the game. I didn't see much change in the movement of the cars on the top of the screen. Is there a way to loose the chase?
Maybe a little too hard and a bit out of rythm. Lacks better Perfect hit effects or sth but liked the music!
Really good execution of the theme! Great job! Btw, after a few tries got to a score of 1136. But yeah Great game.
This game is too hard and I'm terrible at rhythm games! I could see this as a mini-game in a larger game about racing or evading someone, but right now it's just about rhythm.
I'd second the point that there's no feedback on perfect hits. Even a little something may have improved the feel tremendously.
Great idea, well executed ! I absolutely loved the music, which made the end of each playthrough kind of epic. The difficulty curve is a bit off and the game would have benefited from a little juice (screenshake when a note is played, ...), but great game overall !
Okay, I enjoyed the game a lot, but the music was way to loud at the start. Appart from that, I think that the game would improve quite a bit if you add some sort of camera shaking when you hit a perfect note. Just a litltle bit, so that is not very disruptive.
Good job anyways.
Really crazy! I had a lot of trouble getting my fingers around to the up/down combos but I ended up with a 594. Sometimes though, it seemed like certain combos didn't work. I don't think I ever got a full up/down/left/right combo to work together.
Sorry i'm so tired and I can't leave a proper review ;-;
All imma say it good game, much ddr. much gud song. much well done!
Really good game only complaint is that it is a steep learning curve. Try to ease in on it
Fun little rhythm game. The racing element seems a little bolted-on, so to speak - does the choice of cars make a difference? It'd be nice to see that side of the interpretation developed a bit more.
It gets nice and hectic as things progress, which makes it really rewarding when I did get a good streak going.
Hey @Matt Pattabhi great compo submission! I would have enjoyed seeing a difficulty adjustment option or different music to choose from perhaps. Also, the music ends before you reach the end of the game. Great job on the artwork and making the game-play smooth! This game definitely requires two hands to hit some of those combos. Great game!
The idea, graphics and music is good. The game was way too fast for me. Overall an fine LD game.
This is a fun game. I think the car screen should be a bit bigger because you don't even really notice where the car is. Also I was able to get pretty far by just pressing all 4 arrow keys each time.
Great work! I really like the music, and the game was fun. As others have said, it was too hard, but I got just over 600 points in the end. I'm not sure if that's good or not, but still, I had fun! Nice job!
Man, this game comes right at you! 😊
Interesting concept... i am not good at these type of games so i didn't last very long. I could use a bit of a build up before I can mash 2 or 3 keys, but that's me. Well done!
These games are tough for me, especially with a laptop keyboard where the arrow keys are so cramped. Maybe offer some keyboard keys as well? I enjoyed the metal music...goes with the racecar idea!
Nice work, very difficult game.
Also.. comic sans? really?:D
Nice game. I like the genre mashup.
One thing to note is that i was ok pressing the horizontal arrows but i always mixed up the vertical arrows.
Congrats on making the key presses sync with the beat - Didnt notice any offbeat notes. Great idea.
After trying many rhythm games this jam, I found that rhythm is actually really hard to pull off. Yours is definitely among the better ones. Graphics is nice and fitting, although you could make the racing part mesh with the rhythm part more to really solidify the combination. Overall nice job!

I have also updated the post :
It was a pleasure sharing my crappy game with such a loving and powerful community as this whole experience has left me absolutely over-whelmed in a positive way!
(I also apologize for the lack of effort put into my entry as I didn’t expect to get much feedback.)
I will give it 110% next Dare and please send me your games so I could try them out this weekend if I haven't already.

Wooo yeah I also wanted to try the rhythm game genre, but it seems so hard to pull off. The sync was on point, maybe if the level started off much easier was progressively increased, it might be more accessible for non-rhythmic person like me :)
Good combination of genres :D Good job. The game is pretty hard.
The game is very difficult ! But the musics is very cool, The interface is clear. Really make just different level of difficulty and it's great !
Funny game with good music! Good job
I liked the art and music. The difficulty was pretty tough. I had fun though. Good game!
I really like the song a lot. The arrow-pressed was pretty tough, and typically I'm not too good at that type of game. But I will say that there were a couple of points where I got into a groove and surprised myself by hitting some pretty messed-up combos that I was shocked I got right... that felt pretty good! I didn't win, though. I also liked the stylish art on the cars and the arrows, plus the little taunts on the retry screen.
Nice work!
This was pretty cool. I'm clearly terrible at rhythm games but I liked the idea of the two themes together and thought it was nicely polished. The music was good and everything worked well.
It's so hard! I think you should have made it so that the arrows are arranged as they are on the keyboard. I also wish that there was a little more integration with the racing element, since as it is it's basically just a meter showing how well the player is doing.
Very hard game! Well done! Nice graphics and it is polished It could just start a bit easier and becomes harder
