Very interesting, are the blue potions good and the red ones bad? I wonder... *drinks potion* *turns into a frog* Oh my!

The color has no relation to the potion being good or bad, the color is just a representation of the ingredients: Use more chilis -> get a red potion, use more flowers -> blue potions, etc. Although the apples are colored red, more apples will turn a potion green...
Nice game , dude . But my eyes getting hurt after 10 minutes playing. By the way i really liked your witch theme with melting pot.
Cool game! Nice execution, cute graphics and music! ^^ I can't count how many frogs I've frozen already!
really nice game, the music matches the graphic style, it is awesome
@JheysonLima Thanks. I made the music while having no clue about how to make a good song. Luckily there are very easy to use tools. I'm happy it didn't turn out to be too annoying.
Very fun game! It's true that ingredient sprites are too small, and maybe the map too big. I love the cauldron idea and having different potions without knowing what will each one do. Very good entry for a first jam, fun game, solid mechanics and with music and menu!
My only commentarie is that you can push frogs, even stand between a frog and the cauldron to protect it, not sure if on purpose, but it helped me in some critical situations. I never the less, never survived the fourth wave of evil frogs.
Congratulations! Keep working!
Looked like it could have been a nice game, but unfortunately the mouse click didn't work for me so I was unable to play it properly. I'm on macOS, played in Safari 11.1 (12605.1.33.1.3).
@karl-ek I just tried to reproduce your issue on a Macbook Pro using the trackpad and safari and it works fine for me. Which mouse are you using?
I like idea! Warning, on first launching, can not get ingredient, haven't systemic for reproduce sorry.
My favoring thing is totally the music.
A pretty clear concept, though I was just winging recipes without a clear idea of what I was making. I did also keep accidentally throwing potions at my feet. Picking up with LMB and aiming/throwing with RMB would've been more instinctive to me. The witch moved kind of slowly.
The art is pretty bright. There's so much vibrant green. My main advice there is work on the colour scheme. The music is pretty cute, you might have discovered a hidden talent.
It's good to see another game featuring frogs, though our own was more of a cameo. Nice work!
I really loved the concept of the game. It's really different. The art and music is also good. A very well done guys! Good job!
Btw here is my entry: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/memebumps just in case u wanna try it out. Thanks.
I like how you have to figure out what all the potions do and the music and graphics are pretty good. It feels a little awkward to play though. It's difficult to pick up ingredients and potions and the player moves a little too slowly for how much area they need to cover.
There's something satisfying about freezing frogs.

What a merry game. While a bit odd on trying to guess what each potion will do, the mechanics of searching for ingredients, mixing and using them as power ups or weapons are spot-on. There's plenty of situations where I would just spam them out of desperation to protect the cauldron. Sometimes, all frogs would be set on fire, and other times, well, I'd just lose the cauldron.
While the mechanics are solid, going blind into the game and having to survive with the available resources around makes it very hard to plan ahead. While fun, there were some frustrating moments where the cauldron would get overrun and I wouldn't have any available potions to defend it. This happened as soon as the second wave. Just a bit more of speed for the player could have been welcome, to have one or two more potions ready.
Regardless, I applaud the game for having such a cheerful tune and setting. It all works well together. [My team](twitter.com/whalesandgames) would really like to see what other games you can come up with in the future. Keep on jammin' :whale:
Very nice game! I loved being able to combine different ingredients trying to make the best potions, and the music was very nice to listen to. The graphics too were quite nice - I really liked the pixelated style. Well done!
I really enjoyed the gameplay here! The mechanics are nice and well thought-out: scavenging in-between waves (or sometimes even in waves when needed!) and then defending the cauldron was fun and entertaining. It even led to a very clutch moment where I was able to just barely mix a potion to save my cauldron.
While generally fun, I too felt the frustration others have mentioned. The game gets hard a bit too quick, this is mostly due to the speed at which I am able to look for and find ingredients. Also, while I'm not quite sure, I was mainly looking for the ingredient that freezes (I think it's the herb?) and the ones that do damage (chili, sting). The others seemed kind of useless to me, quite possibly because I did not figure out what they did. So walking around seeing all those other ingredients while not finding the one you're looking for was a bit frustrating as well.
The graphics were really sweet and the music was nice and worked together to create a nice feel for the game. :)
I definitely liked the game a lot and a nice post-LD version with some more balanced gameplay is for sure something I would enjoy playing more!
Very cute game! I enjoyed the graphics and the music, they created a really nice atmosphere to play to. I'm not sure if maybe I missed something, but I couldn't get my mouse to throw in the web version, I kept having to pick everything up with RMB and walk to put it where I wanted it to go. Not sure if that's just me, but I figured I'd mention it just in case. Well done!
I still can't figure out what these potions are supposed to do and how to use them... I'm hopeless...
