I think this actually works really well as a concept, it was fun to get the shots right. Would have been nice if the enemies were rounder, so you could judge the shots like proper snooker/billiards.

Thanks for the comment ! You right, I will find a solution (for a next update) to the player know the hitbox of the balls !

I got 5940 points. Trying to get rid of the enemies while minimizing damage taken was an interesting challenge, and it worked very well on mobile.

This is a fun concept and it feels really smooth to play. It's perfect for a mobile game. I agree that it would be nice if it was easier to judge where shots would go. I'd also like it if there was more of a way to avoid damage, and/or more power-ups. Maybe if you could only take damage if you hadn't gotten any in.

Thank you all for your feedback !

@Dovakla I thought about it! It will be the case in a next update 😉 !

I agree with the above comments, the enemies and player being non round made the physics a little unpredictable. I'd have also preferred if you pulled back to shoot instead of dragging where you want to go. That said, it's a super cool genre mashup idea!

Clever combination! Although the roguelike elements don't get much further than the graphics and the health elements its a fun result. I think that more balancing between the pool and the adventure genres would enhance the overall experience. Good work!

biobazard 2018-05-01 11:54

Thanks all 😁 !

@pogo for the shoot direction it was the case in my first iteration but then I realized that it was a problem when the player was stuck at the ends of the screen.

@MacDoom You right ! I'll improve it for a next update !

This is really nicely implemented. I like how intuitive and predictable yet challenging to master the controls are. Your mechanics and art work together really well and your concept fits the theme perfectly. Nice job!

Great game. bad it does not have audio. My highscore was 1720 and i got up to level 4. I thing different kind of enemies are actually the same. you could put different enemies like moving enemies or enemies that shoot you. overall its a great game. Good job.

LOL! This game is great! :'D I'm a big billards fan myself and played these sorts of games a bunch back in the day so this was definitely a blast for me <3 The combination is pretty sweet too and funny at times, would've loved some neat impact sounds though but no worries, deadlines are rough.

As for gameplay feedback: I feel the angles need a bit of adjusting when shooting the... Errr.. Ball? xD Whenever i try to do a "clipping shot" where i just barely skim an enemy they don't really fly the way you'd expect. They feel a bit stiff/heavy at times and you can't really get tightly angled shots off.

The idea of potions and taking damage when hitting the sides is a great little addition too. Keep it up!

This was really fun to play. Good incorporation of the theme, and good challenge as well. Very well executed.

Agree with previous commenters re: rounder characters and shooting direction, would like to add my own suggestion: It's helpful that the pockets are larger than expected, however they should be graphically represented as such. It was kinda confusing at first when enemies disappeared from the board by just rolling nearby the holes. Fun on mobile!

mambojambo 2018-05-11 05:56

This is great! A simple little game, but still really enjoyable. I'm impressed that you managed to make something as polished as this during the jam :)

goffmog 2018-05-11 12:31

That was so much more fun than this idea has any right to be, one of my favorite of this LD, good job!

kpded 2018-05-11 16:36

Great game! Well done! I wish I could see the possible enemy trajectory after a hit with certain velocity

matsoj15 2018-05-11 16:51

Oh my goodness! I love it
