Hi there, your windows build is also pointing to MacOs ?

mordokay 2018-04-23 21:15

@joqlepecheur Fixed it .. thx!

ananace 2018-04-24 16:01

Your Linux build seems to be missing all the data, and the executable isn't marked as ...well, executable.

nicolas-tapia 2018-04-24 16:01

Upload the game to itch.io If you want you may play our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/warren-of-love

fashionbatman 2018-04-24 16:20

This played a bit slow, but that didn't stop it from being fun. Great concept! I would want to see this turn into a larger game.

hackbeam 2018-04-24 16:58

Great idea and great job! The only thing that bothers me is the sloooowly gameplay waiting for the other players to move, but I liked it very much!

mordokay 2018-04-24 18:05

@hackbeam and @fashionbatman ... Fixed the speed issue ... it should be faster now :P

stormburpee 2018-04-24 18:09

Awesome concept, but could do with a few optimizations in terms of the gameplay speed (Although I just saw the comment about fixing the speed issue so I might take a look again.) Other than that very interesting adaption to the teme! Good work. :)

alleskapaul 2018-04-24 18:20

Nice game, I am amazed that you made this in 48 hours! The graphics are really good, I especially liked the palm trees. I did really miss a speedup button for the other players turns or a skip to your turn button. The waiting really tested my patience.

linkwin 2018-04-24 18:21

This is amazing! I love this conception of the theme. The incompatibility of the genres give rise to some very engaging interesting puzzles, really made me think there at the end with the moving platforms. Great work! Would love to see this as a full fledged party game. And how your using playthroughs as the "AI" is genius!

As others have mentioned a FF button would be nice but there is a reason for not having it ;)

sh1rogane 2018-04-24 18:32

Interesting concept, I liked it. Only one thing. It is slow, would be great if there was a fast forward button.

lazzor 2018-04-24 19:17

Wow, this is a really interesting idea plus it's really well done! The visual style, music and gameplay are fitting nicely! Good job on a great game!

joqlepecheur 2018-04-24 19:24

Concept is indeed a good fit to the theme.

The mechanic was easy to understand, except the rule of the "falling" that I had a hard time grasping. I even suceeded in walking through a stone and falling to my death. I found the "wait" button very late (not the games fault, it is quite obvious...) but once I did, it started to clic. I think if the game could be faster rolling the dice, moving etc, it would be less frustrating and much more available.

The interaction with internet is great, I failed to win :) @Linkwin ahah now I know where I have seen your name... in the game.

Some ideas were working well, my simple but favorite being the labyrinth at the beginning. Idea can definitely be expanded a little as a party game etc.

Interesting !

neontropics 2018-04-24 23:24

Wow, cool concept! The graphics and camera controls are super smooth which is nice. It does have some fun clever thinking, but some parts are perhaps a bit slow and/or random.

Seeing the other players move was really cool. I would add a fast-forward button when viewing their moves though.

I super dig the palm tree models in the game, and nice fun music as well!

almax 2018-04-24 23:47

Winner winner chicken dinner!

That got pretty close in a few places, but the shortcut over the top of the rocks really helped :)

Excellent game, possibly the best I've played so far. Great work!!

chaseplays 2018-04-24 23:53

This was actually really fun! I enjoyed the multiplayer aspect of the game, and the "waiting" system was really interesting! At first I thought it looked too long, but you kept introducing new challenges to expand on your concept. Great job!

incobalt 2018-04-24 23:54

This was really cool, actually! This was a compo game? There's a ton of good art and music, plus the ghost player? I don't know how you managed it. I just barely managed to beat @Linkwin :)

colin-misbach 2018-04-25 02:31

It was fun to play with other people! You did all this in the compo?! Pretty impressive.

I don't know why it took so long between dice rolls (was it letting other people take their turn?), it just slowed the game down a lot.

The graphics and audio were nice. Everything smoothly transitioned.

Nicely done!

abhijeet-dani 2018-04-25 03:51

Really great concept and the game looks awesome! It just gets a bit slow sometimes as I am itching to quickly move foward! Might be a good thing :) I was confused with one puzzle where i kept dying as the grid I was on turned red suddenly. Did i miss something? Didn't fully understand that part. Great game otherwise!

kr4ft3r 2018-04-25 12:38

Outstanding amount of goals achieved for a compo, and a fun game. I am interested in new ways of implementing the turn based genre for some time, this game is a nice example. Using 3D program like axis handle for movements is a nice touch. It would be great if camera could move by holding the right mouse button so I don't have to use two hands. Graphics is cool as well. Considering the amount of things you did well for such a short time, I won't be focusing on any flaws, that would just feel wrong.

jaredmercer 2018-04-26 00:08

Wow that was a fun little game! At first it was a little frustrating, but once I figured it out, I had a blast. Great execution! The level design was really nice, it added plenty of variety and plenty of freedom to explore the solutions.

dignz 2018-04-26 09:15

Very impressive. Great graphics and gameplay. Its a little slow but very clever with the multiplayer and amazing for time available.

randomphantom 2018-04-26 15:47

Really cool that you could play with other players in this game. The 3d turn based movement took some getting used to (especially when jumping moving platforms) but did make quite a bit of sense. Needs some way to forward other people's turns. Graphics were neat and it felt really good to beat others in the game after a few tries! Great job!

alex13 2018-04-26 17:50

Interesting concept. Good relaxing music. Multiplayer. Gameplay. But why, why you sets rotation on keyboard, and movements on mouse? It so inconvenient as for me. Or it is part of gameplay that I have missed?

mordokay 2018-04-26 18:23

@alex13 when I was trying the movement with W A S D the "W", for example, meant going in the forward direction .... when you rotated the camera at certain angles forward became backward and left became right ...

It became very confusing to rotate camera around and correct angles and know where you were moving if you pressed keyboard keys ... this way everyone knows where the player is moving

mrwillowb 2018-04-27 15:36

Interesting and cool looking game

nannah 2018-04-28 20:49

Nice game, I almost felt like playing a board game, considering boring waiting.Jumping on moving objects was really hard, but I had fun. Keep up the good work!

dovakla 2018-04-28 22:46

This is very impressive, well done on setting up all the multiplayer systems during the compo! I needs to be faster, since waiting for all the other players could take a really long time. A power-up system or different movement abilities could also help make it more fun.

pietro-ferrantelli 2018-04-29 14:18

Great amount of content for a compo entry, truely impressive stuff ! Never seen a LD game implementing some kind of Multiplayer feature this jam. It was a bit hard for me at first, but then I really enjoyed playing the game when I understood what I had to do. Great, great job !

strangeryann 2018-05-10 14:18

I guess I had really low expectations starting to play after checking out the screenshot that make it look like an Habbo Hotel-era game BUUUT... it's actually decent to play :-D The system to record the playthrough of previous players is genius! The moving platforms are too complicated to figure out and the board wasn't thought of as a "Ludum Dare board" as in people on here won't usually play the game through if one playthrough is longer than 10 minutes [in my experience] so I'd argue it's badly tuned, but the music is really nice and soothing... I'd say it needs to be further refined but you definetely got something fresh in there, nice one m8 and thanks for letting us share this experience, it's definitely original :-D

linkwin 2018-05-11 03:05

If you don't make this into a full release I am going to work on it a lot!
