LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is (2)

Here, Kitty! by Dr. Argus 2017-12-05T05:27:55Z ♥ 1

It's fun to play! I like the custom banner for the game. I found a way to hide behind the furniture so that I wouldn't lose... But ran back into the open because it's more fun :D The music fits perfectly.

Very well done! An amazing game with innovative mechanics and good graphics.

LD39 — Running out of Power (29)

Asteroid Runner by Nordtraveller 2017-08-02T20:37:42Z ♥ 1

Awww man! I ran out of power inches away from being free, haha This is a fun game! I really like how you can see each thruster as it's being used. The music was a perfect fit as well. One note to others playing though: I recommend running it in fullscreen because the power bar wasn't visible for me in regular mode. Other than that, I don't really have any negatives to report... Good job on the game 😀 🚀

Squanchy Squids by pjnovas 2017-08-02T19:55:56Z ♥ 2

Running yourself into the black hole is so funny that I spent the first half of the game just doing that 😅 I'm still not entirely sure how they turn angry, but I'm guessing it's a combination of random chance and how long you are near them. A fun and funny game 🐙

Feed the machine by Vivoubos 2017-08-02T19:42:32Z ♥ 2

An interesting game. I finally lost when the boss got me with the purple force field. I'm not entirely sure what was going on in the story, haha Definitely a different take on the "running out of power" theme.

Batteries Sold Separately by SuperTibbles 2017-08-02T19:31:50Z ♥ 2

I finally ended the game with a score of 3,240. My guess is that I hit the last round, because enemies stopped spawning and I died from lack of energy because there were no more enemies to destroy. At the end, I got a really cool scatter-shot weapon but unfortunately there were no enemies to try it on. Of the weapons that I was able to try, I found the mines to be the least useful: You really want long range in this game or you're doomed. Hitting the enemies was difficult though, since my shots usually went to the left of where I was aiming. I like the 3D pixel-ish style. Overall, a fun game :)

Orcs in Space by atridas 2017-08-02T19:18:29Z ♥ 2

This was so much fun to play! You did a good job keeping pressure on, but leaving enough breathing room to recover. I made it to about 90% power on the nexus before the lings finally overwhelmed my defenses.

Flask of Destruction by Melowicyan 2017-08-02T18:51:47Z ♥ 0

I can see that a lot of work went into this game, but unfortunately I couldn't make sense of the controls. I spent life to build a few orcs, but it kept telling me I had to select minions to attack. I managed to attack and destroy a village once, but it was by pure chance and I couldn't replicate it. Sorry :( I see what the game is going for, but I just don't know the controls.

Tower of Morale by Pixetrichor 2017-08-02T18:42:35Z ♥ 1

An interesting puzzle mechanic. I found myself wishing your character moved a bit faster though. I didn't have an issue with the sound effects, but my speakers were also turned down low.

Manual Mech by Mikeliosus 2017-08-02T18:24:20Z ♥ 3

The tutorial is good, and I like that you keep things hidden until you unlock them: It helps keep the game from becoming overwhelming. I eventually got stuck in a hole and couldn't figure out how to jump out again, but it was a fun game! It really did feel like I was operating a large, heavy machine.

Mining Brothers: An Energetic Tale by bakudas 2017-08-02T18:03:32Z ♥ 2

I love the art style! I'm a big fan of CRT effects :) Mine cart maps were among my favorite from Donkey Kong, so I was excited to give this game a try. It's fun to play, although sometimes the mine cart gets stuck in the tracks ahead of me when I try to jump on to them. Some way to restart the game without using the mouse would also be good, I think.

Dienasty by Eternal 2017-08-02T17:52:15Z ♥ 1

I managed to make it to 17 days! It looks like the game takes elements of cookie clickers, but adds more strategy and skill. I had fun playing it :)

Robot Kernel PaniK by Le Slo 2017-08-02T17:35:02Z ♥ 2

A very difficult game, but I can tell there is depth to it. I wasn't able to figure out how to get crops working, but I did manage to repair the solar panels and charge the robots.

QTechnologic Quest by BottledMajesticness 2017-08-02T17:20:42Z ♥ 2

Top notch music! I just sat at the main menu jamming away for a bit, then remembered there was a game attached :D I'm sad the other levels didn't make it into the game... It has a lot of potential. The controls are a little different from what I am used to, but I assume that's part of the challenge.

Pogo Stick Granny by good.enough 2017-08-02T17:11:20Z ♥ 0

It's fun to just keep pogoing down the road: I was hoping the road would be endless and I could just keep going forever :) I had difficulty getting on top of the second level, as the bounce never quite cooperated enough. On that note though, it's funny that you have to jump off cars to progress!

Funkotron 5k by Jannes Nagel 2017-08-02T17:01:26Z ♥ 0

It took me a little bit to figure out the controls, but it was a funny game!

Run'n Score by MatKubik 2017-08-02T16:29:47Z ♥ 0

I was able to run the game, but unfortunately I couldn't get the menu to work. Clicking on the buttons with my mouse didn't do anything, and none of the keys on my keyboard worked. When I hover over the menu buttons with my mouse they highlight, so I know that it's getting mouse input... But it just isn't doing anything when I click :(

GN49 by Abdullah Sulayfani 2017-08-02T16:20:55Z ♥ 1

The web version doesn't work, but I ran the Windows version. My high score was about 35-40 zombie kills and 2 jerrycans of fuel. The fuel was a bit difficult to find, and I usually died from running out of power. That fits with the theme though, so I guess that's good! If I spent some more time, I could probably have memorized the jerrycan spawn locations.

Skinner Box by internetfett 2017-08-02T15:48:16Z ♥ 0

You have to run in the wheel to power the TV to keep from dying... But I am unsure what the water was for. Cool graphic style though!

BRAINZ ARE POWER by iovorobiev 2017-08-02T04:46:13Z ♥ 1

It's an interesting idea for a game: Sort of like a top-down infinite runner... Or maybe like a rhythm game but with zombies. I liked the addition of soldiers to mix things up a bit.

Dim Wit by benbennett 2017-08-02T04:30:07Z ♥ 1

This is a fun game! It gets super frantic in later levels and I usually lose by panicking and hitting the wrong key. The music and sound effects are also well done. To make re-trying a little easier, it would be cool to be able to press any of the numpad keys to start a new round, rather than needing the mouse.

Edit: Oh! I know what this reminds me of. It's like a mini-game in Mario Party. I feel like Boo is about to get me if I don't hit the keys fast enough :)

Battery Escape !!! by EggshellDog 2017-08-02T04:21:41Z ♥ 1

A very unique idea for a game! The graphics were great as well. I managed to get 75% through the level, and all upgrades. I was a bit confused about what the controller shaking was doing to the game though. It seemed like it was making the game more difficult somehow, but I could not tell in what way it was doing that.

Solar Snoop's Star Trek by tweedle 2017-08-02T03:55:23Z ♥ 2

I like how much character this game has! Some of the collisions feel a bit iffy though: I kept dying and thinking "Wait... What did I hit?" Still, great graphics and audio!

Night Watch by IndieAlchemist 2017-08-02T03:42:10Z ♥ 1

It would be cool to navigate the menus with your keyboard as well: Reaching 5 inches for the mouse feels like such a long way away, haha The game is fun though. As others have already said; the artwork is very nice!

Space Bear Panic by Chris Coe 2017-08-02T03:20:13Z ♥ 2

I like how the first area starts with fuel right next to your ship, so that you can learn how to use it in a safe environment. I also like how slowly The Entity moves: It feels like a threat, but one that you can handle... Until it gets out of hand and you are doomed, haha

Flastronaut by Bill Zeng 2017-08-02T03:00:30Z ♥ 1

A fun game! I liked how the important parts of the tutorial turned green to show that you had completed that step. It was also cool that the game remembered I had already gone through the tutorial, and didn't show it a second time. Sometimes it was difficult to tell if I had completely gotten rid of a ghost or not. Some sort of health meter would also be cool, since it's difficult to tell how close you are to dying.

The Tertielemental Wizard by ectucker1 2017-08-02T02:51:32Z ♥ 1

Almost made it through the ice caves! It would be nice to progress to the next stage by pressing a key rather than needing the mouse.

AI; ace intelligence by baconsenpaii 2017-08-01T07:42:26Z ♥ 1

The rules were a bit complex, but about halfway through the first game I felt that I had learned enough strategy to make a decent go at it the second time around. I don't see many games that make use of regular playing cards, so that was cool to see.

Power Earth Saver by wwwhizz 2017-08-01T07:26:57Z ♥ 1

The power management mechanic is nice and easy to use. My main concern going into this game was that it would be overwhelming to keep everything in balance, but you've designed it to be very manageable.

Tornado by splashshadow 2017-08-01T07:16:56Z ♥ 3

Being able to move through the falling blocks is something I haven't seen before. Cool idea!

The forgotten mission by stoffe 2017-08-01T06:53:11Z ♥ 2

I really enjoyed the story aspect of this game. The console window on the right sometimes got in the way of seeing where I was going though. Playing the game in fullscreen helps this a bit.
