I love the base concept for this game; who doesn't want to play a game about a granny with a pogo stick?
The core mechanic (aka jumping) was great. I would have liked to see an end game stat screen showing how many batteries I collected and how long I survived (and maybe how many times I got run over by a car). In this case, I think it would have given me a reason to replay the game; namely so I could beat my best score.
Regardless, I enjoyed randomly bouncing around your level quite a bit. Thanks for making the game.

On the game jolt Link, the download is missing it's data folder so the exe does not run...

This was simple, but fun nonetheless! I really love the concept of a pogo-jumping granny, and the execution of the jump mechanic was excellent - holy sh*t the granny just got hit by a car.
I loved everything that was here - the controls, movement, art and music. However, I would have loved to see this game expanded further than what it is currently - with some levels to complete or objective to reach, this game would be really amazing (but I understand how hard it is to add a ton of content within such a limited time frame). Anyway, good job!

Hey, nice job! This is one of the better ideas I've seen. I think Pogo Stick Granny would be more fun if players had to combo space presses on landing to increase jump height (rather than a large leap all at once).
This game give us a new and funny concept.
What make the core of this game is the mechanics/physics envolved in the jumping and you did it very well. The graphics were also good enough to immerse ourselves in this crazy funniness.
The downside really was missing objectives, or some records to keep the player interested and engaged enough to play the second time. Also, when you jump there's some problems when bumping into the walls, but nothing more time and a better map layout couldn't fix.
After all the technical stuff, it was a very original game. Congratulations!

This was fun. I loved the cars and ended up focusing on trying to outrun them rather than collecting batteries.
Solid game, well done.
i will be honest i went in really closed minded expecting to not be overly impressed but that was amazing. it was just rally relaxing to play and the music was pretty chill. what i really needed though wasn't like objectives i wanted tricks and achievements. just give me like Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 but with a granny on a pogo stick doing flips and like ui popping up telling me i just did my highest jump or longest spin.
Hey, guys, thanks for the great reviews! So what I hear you all saying is that the game is fun, but very unfinished, and needs more supporting mechanics. I agree.
Going into this, I was envisioning a pogo parkour urban ninja granny just out there having fun, doing tricks, and bouncing all around the city.
However, I just couldn't get the bouncing mechanic right, and I wasted way too much time on it before I gave up and just went with a simple method. By that time, there wasn't even time to put in proper menus or anything that a real game needs.
So yeah, maybe I'll add some cool stuff like high scores, progressive difficulty, tricks, etc. I've got a post jam version on my gamejolt page that I've already updated with several great fixes to make playing better.
Great work. The graphics are superb. I think they idea is unique and deserves to be developed more. I didn't know what I was supposed to do to progress other than just bounce around, collect power and avoid cars but it was solid game-play nonetheless. Well done. I ended up tipping over so it wasn't possible to continue. I only marked you down on sound because I though it could have a bounce sound, ambience, car sounds, car impacts, dying and collecting sounds to polish it off.

Hello there... I hope your participation at LD was satisfactory...
Jajajaja I love the physics of the pogostick :D but you must put an objetive to the game... :v I don't know, something like won points and highscore or just complete some levels... plus and hp bar when a car collide with you to lose... nice game and funny. Good job!
Here is my entry: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/runoutofenergy-the-game rating me please! :D There my game link for Windows… enjoy https://www.dropbox.com/s/dpapwuoscuiu9eq/RunOutOfPower.zip?dl=0
I also use Unity to make it, It's a platform game...
It's fun to just keep pogoing down the road: I was hoping the road would be endless and I could just keep going forever :) I had difficulty getting on top of the second level, as the bounce never quite cooperated enough. On that note though, it's funny that you have to jump off cars to progress!
The movement was a lot of fun, but there seemed to be a lack of a goal. I had no particular reason to do anything in the game, and was never at real risk of running out of power.
That said, the music was really nice.
This was so much fun to play! I liked how smooth the jumping was and that you were free to do whatever you wanted (I mostly bounced between the rooftops :D). My dream version of this game would have looping levels or something so you could keep going FOREVER.
(seriously, so much fun!)

Very solid entry. It was super fun to just jump around hopping on cars and roofs, even though there wasn't any real purpose or challenge to it. You can just hop across downtown collecting batteries and you won't run out of power. Still fun though. The music was also pretty nice.
The concept was pretty funny, I'll admit. Getting hit by cars spawned me on the rooftops, so that was a bug I definitely abused.
