LD38 — A Small World

Paper traveller by dunin 2017-04-25T11:22:37Z

Oh hey this was an awesome idea! I especially liked that you could scribble as much detail as you wanted (the customers may not like my maps but by god they will be pretty ;D )

Only improvement I can think of is maybe ask someone to proofread the text?

Seagazer by Turncoda 2017-04-26T09:44:41Z

This is such an interesting and beautiful little game (those simple colours really nailed it).

Since I have no spatial awareness whatsoever I was afraid of getting completely lost in the dark, and realising you could *actually* navigate by the stars was such an awesome thing :)

Caterpillar Chomp by Xephrys 2017-05-02T08:03:20Z

So much cute it fills my eyeballs to the brim! I want to see a sequel from the perspective of the ants, making death-defying leaps to chomp the food right out of some hapless caterpillar.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Icarus Fate by saintheiser 2017-07-31T11:19:48Z

Hey, your game looks cool but I can't get any controls to work? Bug? My computer unable to play nice?

Icarus Fate by saintheiser 2017-08-01T22:03:54Z

Thanks mate!

Combining Greek mythology and runner gameplay was a smart move! I really like how there are two metrics to keep track off instead of the usual 'you have this much time to finish the level'. (It adds some strategy to the gameplay.) Maybe the numbers could be represented as bars or something so the player can tell at a glance how much wax/life is left?

Mars Mystery by wolar 2017-08-01T22:55:37Z

This is a good, solid game. Everything about it just *worked*. Special mention to having a good tutorial for introducing the mechanics. Although I tended to forget I even had sonar, so maybe that one system could be more useful? Giving directional hints?

i will miss you by kiv 2017-08-02T02:54:19Z

I have no idea what's going on, but it did remind me to spend more time with my parents so... kudos? I like the more serious take on Candy Box-mechanics (or whatever it's called when you get more stuff to do the more you play) and I like the subtle storytelling a lot.

This is a weird and beautiful little game, and the only thing I can think of that could be improved is maybe the graphics :)

End of Time by TolMera 2017-08-06T18:45:45Z

Oh hey you made a game based on my favourite Asimov story! I really enjoyed playing through this a few times (although I can't seem to save humanity :/ ) and I can really see how lucky we are google isn't sentient ;D

Maybe give a couple more hints on what to research? Also, I had trouble following what impact answering the questions had. Overall a great idea for a game, and a very creative adaptation of a short story!

Pogo Stick Granny by good.enough 2017-08-03T11:27:12Z

This was so much fun to play! I liked how smooth the jumping was and that you were free to do whatever you wanted (I mostly bounced between the rooftops :D). My dream version of this game would have looping levels or something so you could keep going FOREVER.

(seriously, so much fun!)

Aeromancer by maxw3ll 2017-08-01T21:38:54Z

Sorry, but my tech skills are very very very low. Can you describe in detail how to install the game?

NOT ALONE by Xephrys 2017-08-04T10:31:48Z

those monsters will live on in my dreams with their noodly evilness O.O

(and i guess participation trophies are a thing now huh)

Mech by widdershinscrustacean 2017-08-01T16:01:22Z

Glad you liked it! I'm also thinking sound effects would work really well with the game. Will keep it in mind :)

I Am S.A.M by MachineTribe 2017-08-20T18:51:15Z

Hey there! I like what I see, but my slow brain really requires more hints to get anywhere. As a young sprocket I watched *Wargames*, and even that misspent youth only got me one command (+variations) in. I'm thinking about some puzzle games I like, and maybe the beginning of this one could point a bit more at the shape of the mystery/mysteries? (am I trying to access hidden files? getting SAM to hack something? uncover a murder?)

The framework for this game is *good*. The UI is simple, the command I found accepted a bunch of different variants, and my absolute favourite part is how you got the timing for the power bar juuust right :)

Cubed by SurfaceCPU 2017-07-31T11:39:49Z

I think your links didn't save correctly :)

Cubed by SurfaceCPU 2017-08-01T21:30:31Z

Your game is a lot of fun to play. Kudos!

I especially liked that the individual levels were short and the controls responsive. It really made the gameplay shine. Like Johnnyc1423 said, sound effects would make the game even better :)

The Book Of Dawn by SophistiCat Games 2017-08-03T19:53:41Z

This was an interesting piece of interactive art. I like the graphics, I like experimental entries, and I like promoting positivity. That is all.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

How Many Days Left? by kaiagan 2018-12-12T00:05:56Z

(oh, hey, this genre is right up my alley. guess this review is biased as heck...)

This is a good game. Reminds me of an easier-to-parse version of *Zafehouse Diaries* ;) I like how you managed (maybe even prioritised?) to make the controls and basic gameplay feel all slick and polished even though there were some bugs and weirdness behind the curtain. That's a thing I seem to be constantly struggling with myself, so kudos for making it look easy as anything.

To be honest I could probably have played this for hours if there were some more random events popping up.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Monster dress up game by Xephrys 2018-04-27T15:34:08Z

Finally a game that suits me perfectly. I like the mix of sugary and aaaargh-y things ;D

My favourite bit was leaning forwards, squinting hard, and trying to figure out how the anatomy worked. (I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there are some things not meant to be Known by the mortal mind)

Battle of the (Mostly) Brains by widdershinscrustacean 2018-04-27T18:30:39Z

Ahaha, yep you caught me with the music thing

Basically; this game was written with the intention of adding sound effects to some events (eg. applause). Poor planning meant the time I had budgeted for sound was eaten up by restructuring/whatnot, and you ended up freaking *hearing* the silences where those sounds should have been. So I made the last-minute decision to add music instead and hopefully preserve some of the feel I was going for. I tried to make it reeeaaally clear that the music wasn't mine, hoping people could overlook the technical rule break and still enjoy the game :)

(and I tried to accept as many permutations as I could think of in the free typing section, but there's always that *one* only playtesting can find huh ;D )

Hedge-Hop by Juutis 2018-04-27T15:54:43Z

I had so much fun playing this game, probably more than most 2D platformers. Only thing one could ask for would be a little more love to the graphics, I guess. (the background parallax was hilarious though. honestly wasn't expecting that :D )
