I love the simplicity and difficulty of the game. The artwork was incredible. Great job!

hackschnitzel 2020-04-20 21:44

Fantastic Artwork

stadoblech 2020-04-20 21:46

poor bee. Graphics are lovely

mrtroy 2020-04-21 04:43

I love the graphics. Wish the game had in game instructions. I had to lose a few times without getting a score before going back and reading. :)

waqar-naeem 2020-04-22 07:59

your game is very nice

steven-c 2020-04-22 21:24

really pretty, but really difficult game

naca 2020-04-22 22:27

Graphics are really nice, especially the bee. Unusual control scheme for this kind of game, but that's also what makes it a challenge. Nice entry :)

huvaakoodia 2020-04-23 12:42

@naca At first I wanted to make the control scheme even more unusual to fit the theme better. The bee would have been moving completely automatically with even more hazards to avoid. In the end these controls were faster to implement and I've been wanting to do something with gravity for a while as well, so here we are.

Thanks!

rongo-matane 2020-04-24 13:09

The art looks really nice, a beatiful style and pretty unique. The sounds were pleasant, very tranquil. Controls were a bit unusual, but after reading up on it, it made sense and was well controlable. The only issue i had was that it did not fit my screen. Im running at 3440x1440 with 150% size on Windows 10. Fullscreen Button on itch would be nice for that. It looks like you used Godot, just in case you don't know about that: If you don't want your canvas to resize, you can modify the stretch settings under project setting -> display -> window -> stretch. Overall very good and polished :)

huvaakoodia 2020-04-24 17:43

@rongo-matane Thanks!

I set the stretch option to *mode:2D, aspect:keep* in the beginning of the jam and forgot about it. I only have 16:9 screens to test on so supporting many resolutions is kind of tough. How does it look on your monitor?

I didn't mention it, but pressing F does toggle between fullscreen and windowed ~~(it calls OS.window_fullscreen), but it does nothing in the web build. Do you have any experience with that feature of Godot in particular?~~ Well, found the solution right away. Someone else had the same issue and fixed it by moving the keyboard input inside the _input function, like so: ``` func _input(ev): if ev.is_action_pressed('Fullscreen'): OS.window_fullscreen = !OS.window_fullscreen ```

rongo-matane 2020-04-24 20:19

This is how it looks (i cropped it, only left a small part of non game screen) 1.png It's not too bad, only a small part is missing at the bottom. Pressing f does indeed work and it looks perfect then. Basically like the screenshot, but the game goes from top to bottom and i see all of it. I just mentioned the stretch mode because i thought that you omitted the itch fullscreen button with the purpose of having the game unstretched. Maybe my assumption was nonsense :D

relictooth 2020-04-24 22:06

Love the art, the bee sound is ridiculously cute to lol. I found this game to be extremely hard but it was a good experience none the less, very nice job!

blay09 2020-04-25 05:54

Very nice graphics and audio! I think most difficulty comes from the bee also being controlled by the mouse, so if the bee is already low and at risk of getting hit by a pine, you're in a lose-lose situation because either it'll get crushed or it'll fall out of the screen. Maybe having a separate key to control the bee's flying would help, or alternatively, adding a ground the bee can land on. I could see this evolving into something with multiple levels and additional dangers / objectives. Good job!

huvaakoodia 2020-04-25 07:42

@rongo-matane I actually forgot about the itch fullscreen button too! It's been a while since I've published a web version of anything. Well, I'm glad to know that the fullscreen mode works correctly even with a 21:9 monitor.

Thanks again!

icxon 2020-04-25 07:58

I've never felt so nervous listening to meditating music  Also I am not sure, but probably it would be easier to play on touch device.

Here are my painful attempts:

huvaakoodia 2020-04-25 09:29

@icxon Now, now, you did pretty ok already. The good news is that the difficulty doesn't actually ramp up at all, so once you get into the flow of things it does get rather relaxing! I prefer to keep the skill ceiling at a point where I too find it somewhat challenging, which, I've noticed over the years, is a tad high for some people.

I certainly plan to make a quick android version in the future to see if Godot can actually do that. It just takes a little bit more setup than the other build options.

It's always nice to see someone else testing a jam project. Thanks for playing!

leetchi-heda 2020-04-25 09:53

Nice little game, pretty hard at the beggining ! nice graphics and the audio fits very well. Good job !

somethingwithed 2020-04-25 10:59

The graphics are very nice. Some ingame explanation would BEE great. I needed some time to understand that I need to click on the flowers. Switching between the bee and the flowers gave gameplay more depth.

itsdanidre 2020-04-26 02:43

My highscore is 24.

This was calming, and when you got the hang of it, really easy to control. The endlessness to it exhausted me overtime because I became slower. But it was a nice experience!

ultrarat 2020-04-27 03:40

I see, it's the pine cones that have been killing bees, real life conspiracy mystery solved!

Good relaxing game. Kind of wish the pine cones would destroy if I stopped them for long enough but other than that super zen.

eamon-kane 2020-04-28 17:17

I wish it was slightly less challenging and I would have felt more compelled to play it longer, but I love the simplicity, the mood and the art style.

jk5000 2020-04-28 17:18

A interesting and super beautiful game. The gameplay is fun, but it is really difficult not to die within a few seconds of playtime. Overall a good jam game. Well done.

aflatthrasher 2020-04-28 17:47

Very tough, could have used a little bit of something to help with that. Maybe something like starting out with fewer pinecones or something. Looks beautiful and the audio fits it very well. It could be frustrating to not be able to control the bee much at times, but other times that same mechanic made the game work really well. Interesting choice to do the controls like this (and, to be clear, I liked it). Fun little game once I got used to it.

sugarsores 2020-04-29 22:02

The graphics are phenomenal, however the game is insanely hard because you can't really influence the bee's movement too much. I also liked the balance of sounds, quite relaxing when I wasn't gettin' bonked hah

hernz 2020-04-30 21:13

I loved that one ! The graphics are great, maybe it lacking a bit on animations but the drawings are awesome. The gameplay is very inventive and a nice twist on the genre. Like a lot of jam games the game is too darn difficult, i have tried very hard to get a weak score of 9 haha ! The music il relaxing and fits the mood well. Oh and i loved the font too ! Excellentjob, keep making games !

theqiwiboy 2020-05-01 14:31

I agree with the other people that this game would be even better as a mobile game, but I loved the little sound effects and the great art. I was trying to be quiet while playing this game (because it is 7:30 my time) and I sounded a little like Mickey Mouse.

marie-launhardt 2020-05-01 14:55

The game is cute and i love the graphics. the only problem is the control.

nnnikki 2020-05-02 18:05

* The window was too big for my browser. I could simply zoom out but I figured I would tell you anyway. * At first i was simply confused. Why couldn't I manually change my direction? Why does the bee simply fall through the flowers? Don't worry, I read the description, but I'd suggest putting a tutorial in the game anyway. There are people who don't read descriptions. * I liked the back-and-forth gameplay with the flowers, but the pinecones are simply unfair sometimes. You fall and rise too slow to react to them, and if they just happen to spawn in the wrong place, you're doomed. * I think being able to change direction manually could solve this problem. * I think the game should automatically restart after a 1-2 second timer. Currently, pressing the button is simply tedious.

huvaakoodia 2020-05-03 12:50

@nnnikki Fair points. Time for counter points!

* There is a fullscreen mode too * A tutorial would certainly help. I was too busy a bee to make one in the jam, but I can already imagine a very simple design for it. I'll wait until the jam is over to implement it. * It is possible to get out of nearly all situations by rapidly changing focus from the bee to the cones. Going to the top of the screen to feed on nectar is supposed to be a risk at which point the player should be extra vigilant. I could add a little warning sign for cones that are about to drop, though, to make this less dangerous. * This is actually the thematic idea I was going for. The player is keeping the bee alive, rather than being the bee. It is kind of half way there as this wasn't quite my original idea for the controls. * As an undocumented feature pressing *R* does the same thing. In hindsight, the top right corner for the restart button was a bad idea as it gets covered by the Itch.io UI.

Thanks for playing and the words!

spiralhalo 2020-05-03 20:03

Neat game. Really love the intuitive game loop. Reminds me of flappy birds with much more complex mechanics and actually involve some strategy. I got to 10 points when I thought I finally mastered the game when I got a slip up. The relaxing music does help with the frustration of losing, though!

emperor-eagle 2020-05-08 10:28

Spectacular graphics, amazing audio, and a great mood overall! The instructions on the Ludum Dare page suffice (so well done for making them short). The game is peaceful yet fun, and feels well polished. Really nice atmosphere overall. The gameplay is intuitive and feels great (even though it's a point and click, hence, you've done a great job)! The requirement to multitask and keep your eye on multiple things is great. The bee is quite hard to control however, and an auto-restart would be a helpful addition. This game has the key mechanics of the bee, pinecone, nectar, and flowers. They all work together so well, and are equally represented (as in, they're all at the front and centre, well used, not under-used, and each contribute significantly to the gameplay). Overall, amazing job, amazing game!

junber 2020-05-09 20:39

Damn this was insanely stressful! The graphics looks great and I cared very much for my cute little bee. I managed to get to 13 points in the end but not without worrying a whole lot. One tiny nitpick though: The nectar doesn't look very much like nectar but rather like drops of water so I tried to avoid them at first. But once I figured that out I had a lot of fun with this. Amazing job!

matootsy 2020-05-11 03:08

Difficult to keep this bee alive! ^^ I enjoy the contrast of zen mood and stress to manage a way for the bee. And I like the fact that we have to Keep energy while flying the less and find the best way to take the drops. The gameplay is simple and efficient. This kind of addictive ones. Graphics are good and control is intuitive. I spent good time while testing this game. Good job you two!

I can provide details of how you can without too much trouble or difficulty find a Salesforce consultant. I am very glad, for example, that I found [salesforce crm consulting services](https://www.ergonized.com/salesforce-consulting/) and I had assistance here already. So please also examine these information and contact me if you are working with this business solution. I'm very glad and I'm looking forward to help.

I had a difficult project in development and could not find a development team who could do the job.

2021-04-30 08:49

Hi, everything, I decided last year to invest in the development and promotion of projects and to create a business. But the biggest challenge was to find good developers in my world, I had buyed an office, purchased computers and servers. I had to turn to the [offshore development center](https://hireukrainiandevelopers.com/offshore-development-center/) where I found developers from Ukraine to find search options on the Internet. The Offshore Production Center or ODC is a business concept of a team of skilled engineers, QA tests, designers and project managers who work in remote organizations. This service has brought me a squad of developers from Ukraine. The perfect price and talent ratio.
