LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep the Tree Alive by g12345 2020-04-28T15:39:18Z

I really like the retro arcade aesthetic. Pretty neat little puzzle that is easy to understand. Great job!

Since you were accepting bug reports, I got this one where pressing Enter (restart) doesn't reset the robots' positions, which allowed me to win by restarting every time I ran out of battery. Interestingly, the bug doesn't happen if I restart upon winning the game.

Busy Bee Business by HuvaaKoodia 2020-05-03T20:03:02Z

Neat game. Really love the intuitive game loop. Reminds me of flappy birds with much more complex mechanics and actually involve some strategy. I got to 10 points when I thought I finally mastered the game when I got a slip up. The relaxing music does help with the frustration of losing, though!

Magic Garden by MaggardJosh 2020-05-04T09:08:47Z

I love platforming hack and slash and I'm surprised it's the only game I've played in this jam with that gameplay. What's more surprising is that it's a metroidvania and a really polished one at that. Great job on those sub-level designs! The choke points for the bats and the delayed slimes activation were clever. Might not be the most original gameplay but hey, I can't get enough metroidvanias, and this entry made me happy :)

Chocolate: The Fantastical Adventure of the Doggy Walk by Anizian Games 2020-05-05T12:18:00Z

Pretty interesting puzzle game. The part with the ice cream was random lol. I love the music which sets a calm atmosphere. I don't know if it was a coincidence or intended but I noticed that the music picks up when I entered the cave and I thought that was a nice touch.

Gameplay wise, the mechanic of having a delayed movement seems interesting, though it feels clunky at times and as others have said Chocolate gets stuck easily. I wonder if the part of being stuck could be an expanded mechanic. For example, throwing a treat to guide Chocolate out of obstacles! Also there is a little problem with one of the doors in the cave, where it goes in facing up but exits facing down which was weird and confusing. Other than that, very lovely entry. Well done!

Beer Tavern by sharbelfs 2020-04-28T15:09:15Z

Everything that I tried seem to lead to monthly loss. A little help, perhaps? I can't tell what those yellow boxes mean. "Brewery System Small" and "Brewery Equipment Small" seem to have the exact same attributes but the former made the beer twice as expensive for some reason xD

Heh. You can't hack me. I'm using Windows 10-

"You're about to be signed out"

Microsoft had failed me once again.

I didn't expect a narrative-driven entry and yet here we are. Props for coming up with a solid plot and worldbuilding in such a short time. I would already like this game for the _very polished_ papers, please style gameplay alone but the ending hits me hard when I realize I get to know the fate of the characters I'm treating. Amazing work!

Parenting Crash Course by hollowspecter 2020-04-28T09:25:10Z

Dayum everyone hates that baby.. I can't even figured out what killed it on stage six because everything just aims at it. Really funny concept though! Great job! Would've appreciated an on-screen button prompts, otherwise it's a really intuitive gameplay.

Trade of Cogs by dunderroffe 2020-04-28T13:57:06Z

Neat artwork, love the contrast on the bright and dark parts of the environment. I think putting shops behind the enemies' landing point was a neat idea!

Keep Them Alive by kaeveris 2020-05-04T08:53:56Z

The sound when they touch though, their love must've been real strong xD

Level design feels a tad too simple since most of them can be won by going to one side of the screen. Other than that, great job!

ANUX by thelemba 2020-04-28T17:31:42Z

Pretty interesting idea. Really love the atmosphere created by the music and simple art. Mechanic feels a bit rough on the edges. The third puzzle kinda had me brute force attack the switch, maybe would've worked better with a longer timer? Overall pretty nice entry despite the loose connection to the theme.

Scrap Cargo by shadow30 2020-04-28T11:40:40Z

Really cool game! Hadn't beat it yet but had a lot of fun trying (I'm at my 7-8th attempt at the moment).

The graphics and audio are really well done on this. I love how the colors pop out, and the music and sound really push that sci-fi atmosphere.

The gameplay is pure hecticness! My brain is screaming in agony trying to perform multiple tasks at once, just what I want from a 10 minute arcade game. Despite that, it never felt too unfair. I think there is some task limiter in place which I appreciate. I also appreciate the down time here and there that lets me catch my breath.

One thing I noticed was that sometimes asteroids are unavoidable, as in they are too close with each other that my spaceship just wouldn't fit. This happen about 3 times or so in my playthroughs combined. Although at some point whilst the asteroids were too close to each other width-wise I was able to squeeze through them length-wise so maybe it was intentional all along?

Another thing that I would appreciate is making the click hitbox for the engine fixing sequence bigger; it's rather frutstrating losing because my clicks wouldn't register. Not really complaining though, still a fun game regardless! Just giving my two cents.

Anyhow really solid work! Great job!

IT!? (need more letters in my title) by Pascone 2020-04-27T22:03:35Z

Took me more attempts than I expected to beat this! I like how it adds challenge from the slightly annoying reload mechanic haha. Even after beating it I still can't figure out the best strategy to always win because in the end I got lucky (50% chance of protecting the wrong item!) In any case, really polished for a jam game! Well done!

At first I thought I'm going crazy because I can't seem to figure out the time... then I read the story.

I love the "twist". It's simple but effective! Once I understand the story, there isn't much to look forward to, though. I do notice what the monotonous task represents, and the meaninglessness of it. For criticism, I would want more feedback given to the player. For example, when the game simply rejects my input in the note, I was lost at what I did wrong because I followed the units just fine.

Great job on the game nonetheless!

Thanks everyone who have played and gave feedback to our game so far!

@binary-coder The feed menu was a UX challenge for us. At first we made it so that you have to close the feed window before feeding another person so there was no ambiguity, but some of the early feedback we received was that it was annoying so we streamlined the feeding process, introducing the ambiguity as a tradeoff. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any suggestion to make the feeding UI easier to understand! We accept suggestions with open arms!

LD55 — Summoning

Dungeon Evoker by VPhyre 2024-04-23T05:53:49Z

It's a cool game that plays and looks like a rhythm game, and it almost feels like a rhythm game but I wish the sound effects are much snappier and on beat! Also orange looks too much like yellow on the bosses, but since it has rubber ducks in the story I'll forgive it.

Nightlife Necromancer by spiralhalo 2024-04-28T06:44:30Z

@labcatgames Didn't mean to deceive you! I wanted more people to be able to play our game, so I released the web version post-jam. It had to be post-jam because the version of Godot that supports LDJam web embed is in alpha, and also buggy (I even made the [bug report](https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/91135) myself during porting).

I've now added a big disclaimer about it, sorry for neglecting to do that in the first place. The fullscreen and volume setting has always been there, so you aren't missing much. And if you played the downloadable version you get the original experience.

STUPID LEGS by danmerey 2024-04-29T03:43:59Z

This! This is my ideal compo experience. The physics based game, the goofy graphics that feels polished, and the human voiced sound effects are all welcome. I could play more levels of this! My only gripe with the design is that I wish it wouldn't reset my build completely when restarting.

Neat little arcade game. My high score is 80!
