Gamepad support is a nice touch. I liked the sound and design of the party above you a lot, maybe some beeps and boops would have been nice when picking up the dropping crates. The crates got put into a position where I couldn't pick any of them up a couple times.

Love the flies by the lights!

I liked it! It feels satisfying to stacking up those boxes even though being left out by jerks upstairs :D Last ones were the hardest though. A bug kinda annoying though. Sometimes the player jumps little, sometimes jumps higher

mrerdalural 2018-08-14 08:57

Wow! I somehow managed to kill the guy throwing down all the boxes! Awesome secret! ;)

@truc-e Thank you. The color change felt like it wasn't enough but I didn't think of adding a sound, I will keep that in mind :) When I noticed the pick up range was too short, it was a bit too late to fix :( I can suggest throwing crates at the ones that are stuck :P

@maakep :)

@wolderado Congratulations! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I should probably fix that and add a post-compo version.

i like the way you've done subtle world building, by making the like club on top and the little lights it really places the game in a world, which often games like this dont tend to do. i got upset when it insulted me though because i thought i was doing a good job :(

The controls could use more work, x and y on keyboard is very awkward. the music and the visuals fit nicely together, although I don't know what I'm doing stacking crates below a nightclub!

speedysloth99 2018-08-16 13:23

Cool game! I really like the graphics & audio, and the idea as well!

I think the audio would be better if it were a bit muffled. I think this would enforce the fact that everyone's having fun but you. Also, the controls are a bit awkward. Using X and Y to move the crates renders using WASD basically impossible. Another thing is that the room where you stack the crates is just a tiny bit too small. I don't know if this was intentional, but it made stacking crates on the 4th layer very awkward if you wanted them to be fit very close together, as you couldn't jump over them.

However, it is nevertheless very fun and enjoyably to play!

Should something happen when you reach 100%?

And why is there a party upstairs? :laughing:

cool game, good job

petitpadawan 2018-08-18 08:31

Good Idea ! Also graphics are really cool, great work !

zeusx212 2018-08-19 12:32

really fun game

cptalbertwesker 2018-08-21 19:20

Haha loved it! I especially love that you put everyone else having a party upstairs whilst you're stacking crates.

Nice simply idea, very easy controls, the only problem I had was I got trapped between some crates just at the doorway after one hurtled downstairs and pushed me in the position.

drums 2018-08-21 21:23

The secret was amazing. That's all I have to say haha! Nice one.

xumr 2018-09-02 12:42

@sam-machell Thank you, I really enjoy adding little details like those. Sorry about the harsh employers.

@shp Well, the people upstairs might need a few drinks, yeah? Or maybe the nightclub is just a front, and the crates contain... :o

@speedysloth99 I guess I could have used a lower frequency for the low-pass filter. The next game will have better key bindings. The room size adds sort of tedium rather than difficulty but your employers aren't the sort of people who would care about that.

@aszu I wanted to add an option to _take a nap_ after reaching a certain percentage but instead, I spent time doing other things. So the secret ending is the only ending.

@petitpadawan @zeusx212 :)

@cptalbertwesker Thank you. Oops, I should have added an option to reset the player position.

@drums Glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you all for playing and your kind words.
