What a shame you didn't have the time to flex it out a bit more, it is very flat as it is now.
I really like the pixel art.
I however got a game breaking bug. I cannot click on other planets in the solar system.

Hey @boltkey thanks for the tip! Should be fixed now.
Cool game! I really like web games like it. It reminded me to "A dark room".
I think I will need more time to play it like it deserves but I just wanted to let you know that I will do it. Loved the pixel art planets too.
Cheers!
Really like the pixel planets! They look great. I took over Earth! Doesn't feel like there's much new here, but with more work it could by quite interesting I think. Would be nice to see my Fleets.
Very enjoyable entry. If you continue to develop this as a post launch game, there are a number of balance and QoL tweaks I would suggest - for example the feedback as to what is happening when attacking is non-existent and it becomes unclear whether the game has crashed or is just resolving conflicts when large forces are fighting on a contested planet, and things like a "add all to fleet" would be very welcome, but these are not the sort of things I expect to find in a compo entry given the time limits involved.
For the short time of the contest really good game! The different resources bring a bit of complexity to it. Of course the game could be more balanced and also a bit more responsive, but overall I really enjoyed playing it.
Nice little incremental game. I'd like to see some more technologies to be able to be built, but as it stands, it's pretty solid.
Some suggestions:
* Make it so that you can't select text, because when you're clicking the links quickly, you often accidentally select text instead. (Also, you could make the UI elements buttons instead of text links.) * Add in some ways to buy multiple items at once. 10x, 100x, and max, for instance. * Some visualization of the fleet strength other than numbers would be nice.
Anyway, a strong offering for the time period. Quite fun for the time spent!
Nice concept, I only create Starships :) But it's really long to create a big fleet, you should add something to create faster. Well done.
I got caught up in this longer than I'd care to admit, but I have a lot of gas mines to show for it! It'd be neat to see this developed further. I would've liked to have seen more of the battles, maybe some animation. A 10x, 100x option like mentioned above would've spared my poor mouse button some exercise. There is a good foundation to build on, though. Would definitely like to see where it goes.
Neat idea! Cool evolution on the Clicker concept, reminded me of some fun BBS games from back in '86. As other people have said, it's a flat in its current form, but I bet you worked your tail off over the 48 hours and you should be proud. If you had fun making it and want to continue, you can probably take it a lot further! Keep it up.
Nice game man

Nice game. Rather unbalanced though. Manage to make 800 planetary defenses and just took over everyone.
The pixel art syle for the planets was nice, though some of the planet's moon seem weird? Guessing you didn't have time for them.
Really hard to rate on mood considering there isnt any music nor any story/text.
Also, it seems that the game bugs out if you click stuff while contesting a planet and wouldn't let you do anything. (for me it was mars)
Wished there were more content like mutiplayer/more solar systems/random events etc
Website wont load.

@rubyleehs Odd, it works for me. And my website is on Google Cloud Platform so it's not like my server is overloaded. If anyone else has this problem, please (!) tell me, so I can fix it if other people are having it.
Good start, but I got stuck when I attacked a planet and only had fighters left. I like the ideas used in this.
Doesn't really function as a game, since there's no way to know anything about how the outcome of battles are determined, and therefore no way to know what you should be doing. The interface doesn't try to helpful in any other capacity, either. If a player attacks a planet and loses their fleet, they're given no information whatsoever except that they lost. There's no way to know how the battle played out, how many troops the enemy has, whether their attack had any effect on the enemy troops (let alone the extent of that effect if it exists), etc. This is generally the worst way that any game can begin, since the only thing it teaches the player is that none of their actions have any effect on the game world, and that when they fail, they won't be told why, and therefore won't be able to improve. Coupled with the lack of any compelling visuals, audio, or narrative, the game in its current unfinished state provides no reason for anyone to want to play it.
tl;dr you, the programmer, certainly know how your game works mechanically, but nobody else does, and if you make no attempt to communicate anything to your players, then you're the only one who will be able to have fun playing your game.
This is really good. It shows that this was a compo, but I am impressed by what you were able to get done in the time you had. Having also played the post compo version, I see that you were able to fix some of the issues with the compo version.
I really like the visuals, has a cool feel to it! I agree with some of the others about feeling a bit blind about the consequences of my actions at first. A few adjustments to that and (as you mentioned) the balance could make a big difference. Good work!
@boltkey @camilo @sneakydeagle @pandakipu @madjackmcmad @patrick @tddawson @boorik @mrerdalural @wati888 Thank you!!
@impbox Thanks for the advice. I suck at pixel art, so we'll see when I get around to drawing ships :)
@mrnyarlathotep @lone-spelunker @merrak Thank you very much for your advice, I incorporated your advice into my ongoing [post-compo version](https://cosinegaming.com/static/pwd-post/index.html).
@tuteupaituamae How about instead, you rate games, and then you'll get ratings. -_-
@stuntddude Thank you for your honest advice, I really appreciate it. I was worried about exactly that. Because I wrote this with DOM instead of `
@stuntddude (edit): Ok, interesting. Thanks for playing, and no hard feelings o.o you have no obligation to play the post-compo version before commenting :)
@ragnta Thanks for your feedback. I'm really curious about what you mean by "overview view," it sounds like a good idea! I was thinking about having a page where it shows all your planets and their resource accumulation. Is this sort of what you mean?
@cosine actually, after playing the post-compo version, I realize it already addresses most of the problems I had with the game. I should have looked at it before commenting in the first place. Sorry.
well done, ambitious game for a so short development time!!
It's a good game, I like this genre, but I missed an overview view and the graphics is a little bit poor, but the planets are cute. I think you make a great prototype, but game is a little bit confused. Great job! :)
I really liked the pixel art of the game. The game seems to have a lot to offer in terms of play time. Thank you for making this game!
I really like the art=style. Looks great and it's really cool how you made it all in HTML and JavaScript. Really impressive! But it is like you said above, just have this open while you play other games in the background.
