I like how eventually it develops kind of a eco-system where the blues and yellows defend each other and same for reds and greens.
It would be nice if you could move the repel cursor out of the room so that they don't get stuck on walls/corners.
Thanks negativice, yeah the eco-system thing was totally planned to happen *cough* haha.
That's a nice idea to get the repel away from them generally i keep it in a corner or in the center of the screen to not "affect" them as much with it. Also, the more you kill, the less effective the cursor becomes at repelling, especially when there's hundreds of the little buggers :p

I was all like, how'd he get to those screen shots. Then i figured it out, very intense at points! My mousing was off a little bit, but I adjusted and had a good time.

That is a pretty clever idea. At first I thought you had to throw the preys into the predators to kill the diseases that were too populous, but the idea is to simply try to keep them separated, right?
Anyway, that is a clever idea for Gameplay, I like it.
thanks cyfixus it is pretty intense in the first minute and than towards the end.
caranha, that's another way of playing it which I hadn't thought of. If you're able to separate them correctly, that can work! basically imagine this : create the typical deadlock between red/green and yellow/blue than try to separate a chunk of one color (say red), and push them towards the other group to reduce red since they die to yellow and possibly blue since they die in the process until yellow can eat the reds! That's a fantastic tactic! :D
Really interesting concept unlike anything I've played before. The four way mechanic leads to interesting cliques of disease but it doesn't really take much interaction from you once it gets into a stable state.

Its a really nice idea it would be nice to have more aways to affect the game has a player.
It would also be nice to have outburst of a color.

nice emergence
One of my favorite submissions so far. The emergent behavior of non-interacting colors grouping together is really cool.

Really interesting behavior and emergence idea. Simple but very fun to watch.
Thanks everybody for all the nice comments :) I would've liked to have a bit more player interaction with the game, I'm just not creative enough I guess haha.
As fuad said, I loved watching the diseases play the game between themselves and believe me, sometimes you'd have funny situations of a suicidal assault.
Something I just want to say, those diseases all start with the same base stats, but they evolve over time (probably at a really slow pace now that I have played it a bit). One always become much stronger than others.

Interesting concept. I'd done a 'protect' in a previous game jam. http://mutuware.com/games/savetheburgers/
But you've taken it further with them eating each other.
Very cool. It was very compelling to watch the simulation, and predict it to prevent catastrophe. Clever, and good use of the theme.
@mutuware holy damn your game is hard! Cant keep more than 1 alive for more than 10-20 seconds. Thanks for the comment was there any inspiration on your game?
@kleinzach thank you
The game mechanics are really fun! Keep up the good work!
Cute little game. Has some potential
This is really interesting. The animation of the sprites movement helps a lot

Very nice idea! It is interesting that you don't have to wipe the deseases, but to keep them alive. I had two little problems: after there is more than thousand units on the screen, fps went very low, and some units started to go out of the screen, but I think this is not a big issue.
@bigbuggames, @anrchonthewizard, @swellbastion thanks for the comments, I appreciate comments :) although swell, I have no idea what animations you see xD
@palys plays thanks for the comment it was a weird idea for me. I "knew" about the fps problem, I wouldn't have thought that 2k sprites on screen would affect performance as much as they did. I actually noticed this issue during testing (sunday evening) and for the compo I had made a quick cap on the amount of spawns but I wasn't conservative enough so it still lags. Post-compo versions have this issue alleviated a bit better.
Interesting concept!
It's fun but I found it a little bit random for my taste. If you expand (and I hope you do), you can put some flavor of "strategy". Keep rocking!
Lot's of fun. like game of life on steroids. Hand a little sore after clicking all over this one.
This game reminds me of Conway's game of life. AI seems pretty simple but it was enough for it to be interesting to watch and interact with.
What!!!!!! Incredible idea!!!! Hard to play but funny anyway and really challening!!!
Good Work!
Hey all, thanks for all the positive comments, really appreciate any feedback.
@MrErdalUral, wow I didn't know about that one thanks! :D

I liked the concept. Although there is something in the controls that I think it could feel better. Some visual borders could be good to. Still, good job.
Simple but interesting gameplay.
Great game. Defended two solo colors against the other two gigantic mobs for a while :)

Tweaking the ecosystem in such way is fun! Would love to play something like that on mobile maybe.

Wow, I haven't seen such a game. Interesting concept!
Awesome, just awesome!
Very interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/YxApuQ84rNY
