Pretty cool. Sound and music are very basics but gameplay is very very cool ! Too bad that the I.A is too simply for a very good game. Check out my team's game : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/im-not-a-hero
Great idea, nice work! lots of fun :) Take a look on my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/vector-rabbits-slayer
I really liked it, but i will love if u can change the soccer player.
Cool idea that would really benefit from further work on controls (run button pleaaaaaaase) and obviously more advanced AI. It's still a really nice proof of concept and could make for a very fun multiplayer game.
Good job!
I love the theme. I feel like if you keep on developing this game you can make it into something fun. I was really laughing at the AI as they just shot the ball into their own goals. I was a bit frustrated at running so slow, and not being able to switch to other players. Perhaps you can tweak that for a future iteration of this cool game. Nice work!
@Anthony Krafft @ZachSarette Yeah, time was a limit in this case and I ended up with just a skeleton of what it could have been. It was in my mind to make the ability to switch players and also i thought about multiplayer, but thats far too complicated for a LD game. As for AI, I left them so stupid intentionally, as i feel that this way it's even more fun. Yet again, thank you for feedback!
This combo of genres was actually on the table for our game as well but we changed to golf instead to avoid the AI-issue. Good fit for the theme! I managed to win the match but out of the 5 goals only one was actually scored by me. The others were own goals by red team. I was really nervous when my own team had possession of the ball. Had me laughing! :D It was also very interesting to get to play the game we didn't do. Thank you and good job!
Yeah, the idea is very nice, but the gameplay is too poor. I hoped i could shoot the other character but no. Ai and very little control over the team limitate the game. Anyway as a 3 day work it is nice so please, continue developing this little game!
I'd be great if you could kill the players :D
Idea is good but the game is unplayable right now. Working on an good AI seems a very difficult task. So you have a proof of concept who need work on controls and AI.
I am not a huge soccer fan but this kind of soccer is pretty awesome.
A fun little game idea, and it is overall fun to play. With some better AI, and some better controls this can be really great game. Overall a very well made LD game. Well done.
I've been wanting to make a game like this for a long time. It's clear you ran out of time for polishing since there are some weird collisions at times and the movement is weird. You soccer physics did turn out well. Another problem is that the A.I causes problems at times. Most of the goals that happened when I played happened completely from a team accidentally shooting their own goal. Idk if this would make the game too slow since the chaos is part of what makes it fun but it might work if you make it a 1v1 so that there isn't the weird a.i on the players team at least.
I really liked the game idea but the execution -mainly the controls- could have been done better.
I would have prefer classic twin-stick-shooter controls for this kind of gameplay experience. Being able to move and aim to seperate directions may make this game too easy but it would make the controls a lot more intuitive.
Another good way to approach -if you want to keep player shooting the same direction he's moving- would be removing the mouse input. Player could steer the character using left and right keys and move back and forth using up and down keys. Shooting would be always towards where the player is looking.
Right now player constantly needs to move the mouse in order to keep motion. While moving the mouse to steer it's very hard to aim.
