Well done, awesome graphics :)

Hey, cool gameplay concept guys! Getting some "crawl" vibes. Sadly the game crashed some times and the sound bugged out creating loud cracking noises. The pixel art ist nice too, especially the title screen. Would've loved some kind of indicator of how much life my slime king has left.

I love the graphics and the sound effects! I also really enjoyed that you put the story into the game, and the main screen building up with the sunrise was just wow. A minor nitpick on the story at the beginning: I was expecting a single tap of space to skip to the end of the current text, instead of directly to the next one (when the current one isn't even shown completely). (On another note: why do I need to progress the story with my keyboard instead of my mouse, when the game itself is played with the mouse?) Also, I had a problem with the game crashing sometimes when I fail :( And once I found the hero spawning in the wall, unable to move! Hah, easy win for me.

The design though is quite cool, the concept is interesting, new, and fun! Good job overall, despite the few minor problems very enjoyable :)

Was difficult to understand how to play the game. Can you put the instructions somewhere? Nice Title screen art!

A really nice work. The concept fit perfectly with the theme.

Some improvements I recommand:

- Slow a bit the game. - Put informations about the boss life's. - Don't close the game each time you die, it's frustrating. - If the introduction had already seen, skip it at the game launch (or put a Skip button) - Make a UI information for the supply mobs you can get in the dungeon. I was like "I had an ally, why is he respawning only after 3 turns ?" - When you display the power-up selection screen, make the game darker, or let them appear in a modal window. That will be more visible and understandable.

Nice idea! It's a bit hard to tell how much health the slime has left, but I liked the varied traps.

Ahh the graphics! The only complain is that the slime king is kind of hard in my opinion, but overall a very good game! Congrats! ^^

Loved the concept and the game itself plays well, however, the lack of information given to the player kinda brings the whole experience down. Agreed with kor here -- slime's life indicator would be nice to have. Also, wouldn't mind a bit more information about the traps, at least their names. Sure, I get what's fire and traps for, but the green moss thingy? Overall, it's a very neat game that needs just a little bit of polish

An unusual idea, beautiful graphics, including the effect of the appearance of the menu. It is a pity that the game has broken after two attempts to save the slime(I have downloaded bugfix version from itch.io btw) Anyway, I like this game

The sprites are really nice! Took me a while to understand what is going on but in overall a great experience! Wish you good luck. (Maybe a small tutorial would be helpful in the beginnig)

The idea seems cool, but it is really hard to understand how to play and what the different card does.

fabula-rasa 2020-04-22 08:51

I liked the concept very much and the sound effects were cool.

However, I found it hard to tell from some of the cards what is it that they place and what effect you can expect from them. Some description when you click on the card (or hover over it) would be nice. Or at least a name to give a player a hint. And even after you place a trap, it is often hard to say what it did, as the screen can get pretty busy and the game itself does not provide much feedback.

Echoing what others have said, your entry could benefit from instructions (I ran into this issue with my submission too, so it's understandable) and a bit of polish. But overall, this is not a bad entry, just needs some tuning (difficult with the time constraints).

Your title screen is just beeeaaauuutiful. The music on it works really well and the animation in the back is neat. The game in itself lacks a bit of mood I think, maybe a music would do the trick. I think your project could be improved with some bug fixes (it crashes sometimes or run loops on sound) and some more feedback (a life gauge would be perfect, maybe a clearer "damaged" state for the boss). I love the idea you had to make a quickstyled combat game only through cards and planning instead of mashing leftclick.

Like the graphics! The idea of this game is pretty cool. But sometimes I’m not sure about some information about some items.
