Haha it's so pretty and feels good. But I'm not very good at shooters so I died really quickly, and it's also kinda hard for me to recharge the mana.
I can't stop laughing at the animal heads on sticks. Hahaha!
I also notice the monsters have the power on/off symbols on them. Hmm....

Okay. First I'd like to say that your music was spot on, good job. The game was really fun to play, however at times I ended up running out of mana and just ran around juking out the monsters. Otherwise it was a fun little game.

Wow, I run out of mana too soon but manage to reach the heart escaping from the horde. Funny graphics and music. Well done!

Thanks @pyjamaboy @spigaru :) Yeah, the game might me a bit on the harder side. Have you fond the rooms with additional mana and health?
Yeah I found the rooms, I feel like there could be more when there are bigger fights, and the doods that take more hits should perhaps drop more, I dont know.

Pretty nice. Random drops (especially when it comes to mana) can be a bit annoying but aside from that, the game is quite solid.

Awesome! Loved the graphics of the game and the audio. I agree with the other feedbacks as the random drops get in the way, even if you have perfect accuracy, you can find yourself out of ammo.
Great Job!
The soundtrack is great! Gameplay is great ! My favourite game so far !

The game is really very polished. Very very good. I can't say anything about the music except it's the best I've ever heard in a game jam 7/5. There's a little too little ammo in the level.

I really like your art style it has something special. Very well done!
It's a great game overall, loved the use of kazoo cover of "Final Countdown", really can't think of a better soundtrack to fit this game, use of 2D sprites on a 3D plane is a smart choice & looks surprisingly good,nice job.

This is definitely the most fun game I've played this jam. Super cool graphics and music, solid gameplay and an amazing experience overall. As already mentioned, you can run out of ammo even if you play really good but I managed to expertly sneak through all rooms anyway. You could counter the ammo problem by giving the monsters a higher ammo drop chance once you reach the second half of your ammo. Amazing game nontheless!
Thanks for the funky ride. Overall a good dose of weirdness with some hilarious moments!
Very smooth and fun--having little rooms with fun surprises (Pug Lisa) was a really really good touch.

The graphics in this game are charming! Also, the gameplay is smooth. However, to be honest, I don't really feel "sacrifice" Maybe you can add some mechanism like sacrificing your health point to restore mana. Then it fits the theme and also gives players more mana to fight the monster. Currently, I tried a few times and I was like 0 mana for 90% of the time, which is not satisfying :cry:
Hahaha music and gameplay is so fun, I really like it. A bit laggy for me, but overall is very great.

@captainweeaboo yeah, the random number generator seems to spoil a bit of the fun, sorry about that :( I will do it another way next time. And this is a really nice idea with the mana - to tell you the truth we run a bit out of time to execute that part better. Thank you for your feedback!

This game looks so good. SO GOOD. I also really liked the sound, the character designs, all of it's great.
However, the mana/ammunition was a problem. Sometimes you kill the first 3 enemies, they don't drop any mana, and then your hands are tied to your and you can't cast any spells, forcing you to restart.
I didn't make it very far, so I also didn't see where the theme connects to the game. Other than that, great entry!

Great job! I haven't laughted so much in days, hahaha. It's a cross between Wolfenstein3D and Nanowar of Steel. The graphics are lively and lovely, the gameplay it's actually really fun, and the music... Oh, the music. Although I missed a final boss battle... Thank you!

I think there's space to tailor the sounds more to the mood. The basic gameplay was fun but it started to be repetitive very soon with not much to do (and empty mana source).
@eliascizl yes you're right, but I made all of the SFXes and music in almost 2 hours so :P Thanks for review by the way! Cheer up!
@synthphonia I know. Of course it's awesome that you've made such product in one weekend. Excuse me but I just tend to be critical :D (not like our game is any better).
Excellent game! Really fun to play and the music is spot on. The graphics are charming as well. I think the only thing that kinda killed the experience for me was the random drops, cause sometimes the first enemies don't drop any mana and you don't have much to do about it.

Good game. Visuals are nice! Maybe you didn't need to create a huge level, instead to polish things like balance better the mana (random drops), player damage feedback, player die feedback, add more monster sounds, etc. Congrats!

Really cool game! The art is fantastic, and the general game feel is really nice. The music is spot on and really funny as well!
I agree with most others here about the mana. In the original version I ran out of mana quickly, and then ran around trying to find more without luck and eventually dying. In the new version on the other hand there were plenty of mana, and the cap was just a slight annoyance. I think having limited mana doesn’t really contribute a lot and just having it unlimited would have been better. Alternatively, it could be rarer, but you’d give the player a weaker non-mana using attack as well. This way you’d have to choose in when to use the mana.
I’d also love to see more variety of enemies as the two types there are now are basically doing the same thing and it gets a bit boring after a while.
Overall it’s a really solid entry! Well done!
Also, the pug paintings were awesome :D

Your idea with the non-mana attack is ingenious!
As for the enemies: I totally agree. We had planed (and even graphics) for at least 5 types. Including a stationary and a shooting enemies (with avoidable and non-avoidable, but telegraphed, attacks). Unfortunately we (or to be precise I) run out of time to implement them :sob:
