Quirky little game. The music and sound effects had me smiling all over. The experience is very straight forward and reminds me of what video games used to be like at the arcade. I found it a bit too easy in the end, as there is no real threat to me as a player other than timing. Maybe adding a time limit for each level might add some spice.
Good job though, I did enjoy playing it!
@klausklapper I do agree with there not being any threats. If I had more time I planned on adding enemies such as a pizza oven with arms and legs that would shoot burning pizzas at the player.
Cool game, fast and fun! Animations and countdown are frustrating slow though.
@ixniyevonn I didn't like how the animations turned out truth be told. Once my game is rated (hoping that it is) I plan on going back and updating them.
I have to say, the UI of the game is amazing! Upon starting the game, I was immediately impressed by it. While I agree that the transitions, especially for restarting, and the countdown at the start are too slow, the game itself was fun to play and entertaining.
@philocode I am very proud of the menus I made and yes I do agree the countdown always felt a little off. Eventually I'll go back and update that as well. :)
Simple but polished game! The assets are pretty good too.

That was a fun little game! Like others pointed out, I enjoyed the music too. I also loved the legs animation when running :) It did was a bit slow for countdown. Good job!

I enjoyed this one a lot! The movement felt good and the level designs were pretty creative, I was cutting it pretty close towards the end there. The menus and sound effects were also pretty well made. Some kind of sound effect or music as the timer ticks down would be interesting, to really put the pressure on the player to deliver in time. Well done!
@del009 when the game reaches 5 seconds left it’ll play a timer (I hope unless it’s broken)

Funny! I liked the fact that you can throw pizzas at customers' doors from a distance. Game is self-explanatory, and there is a noticeable difficulty curve. I also smiled at the style of the intro and transition screens (in-game graphics and sound pale a little in comparison).
@space-games and you can be proud, the menus are really great and I hope I can reach this level of UI polish at some point!
@merrow i agree the graphics aren’t the best. I planned on adding props and what not since it’s not revealed in game and I didn’t have time to make the ending cutscene but the whole game is actually in Pizza Pete’s dreams!
Good job on designing all that transitions and overall mood! Reminds me of Jakebox Game series. Cool stuff!

I enjoyed it a lot, it's a really cool concept and the sound effects and the transitions are very goofy!

It's a fun little complete package. I enjoyed throwing pizzas and fiddling with the doors. It did get stuck at the end, but I enjoyed the experience all the way there. You folks did very nice work!
I love the aesthetic you pulled together here! And the game itself was really fun too! I will say I was a bit unclear as to why sometimes I would left click and not shoot a pizza and sometimes I would. Other than that great job!
Momma mia! Now that is a spicy video game. Great controls, level design! Its the whole pizza pie.
Amazing use of time by Space Games in 'delivery' of this ludum dare's theme. I think the pizza vibe is a great mood and choice for the theme. That being said, with no way to tell different areas apart it did get a little confusing.
@austin-sierra fair enough! Although I did try to help guide you a bit by having the grey backgrounds meaning you don't need to go there just shoot there :D

This game has a lot of personality. I especially loved the level transition screen.
This was pretty neat, I liked the pizza tossing mechanic, I dont think I've ever played a platformer where you're also shooting and aiming with the mouse. Nice work on the sounds!

The game is a neat concept, but it became frustrating rather early on. Even the tutorial level was too short to make sure you could read all the instructions. I like the pizza throwing concept. Using doors was not exceptionally intuitive and could have been explained better. The sound design was very minimalist; not necessarily bad but some of the effects and jingles that did exist (for completing or failing levels for instance) became annoying. In that same category of audio, it seems your title screen theme is just Funiculì, Funiculà. This is well themed, but not a very creative choice. Anyway, the amount of time it took to load into a level and then countdown to start was also a bit of a drag. Some of the level design concepts were fun, but there was also some questionable stuff. Level 5 is a good example of questionable level design. Having a rush sequence isn't inherently bad, but by level 5, you shouldn't expect the player to have either the ability or the investment to complete a challenge with almost no margin of error. I know it was probably to help ease players into using sprint, but in that case (for a very early level like this one) I would recommend making it barely unwinnable without sprint and then fairly easy with sprint. As it is, it is only barely winnable with sprint. With all that being said, it's a pretty decent game for 72 hours. Naturally it has room for improvement if you're interested in continuing development.
fun game really enjoined the animations some of the best Ive seen all jam.
@doctor-fun wow! Thanks for the in depth response! I do plan on continuing and I’m gonna take everything you just said into mind when continuing!

The character animations are really cool. The difficulty seems to spike a bit fast, but aside from that, great work! Ah, and the level transition's animation is great!

Great work with the UI! It took me a while to understand that failing a throw would make me need to wait for the pizza throw to recharge, but from there is was pretty fun. The direction to which the doors open are a little confusing, maybe the pointer could be bigger. I kinda give up stage 5 after 10 attempts, but that's on me, I'm terrible with platforms haha

I like the ui and pizza transition
I thought it was fun, I don't think the mechanics fit with the theme. Maybe if it was an open setting with houses it would be more suitable. I did not find the mechanics of the doors good, such as obstacles. Perhaps in another context, with a story where the character is dreaming or has gone to a parallel dimension would be more befitting.
@marcos-tulio-cavalcante From the start I've always planned on the game being in Pizza Pete's dreams BUT since I didn't have time to make a ending comic strip I could never clearly communicate that. It was originally going to be set in a apartment building but the level design made it look real weird.

Good work! was really fun to play and kinda addicting! No music but the sounds effects were killer! It's a nice simple concept but you managed to make it work and be loads of fun! Level design is just right! Not too easy and not too hard! The transitions were stellar also :D

Overall pretty fun arcade style game. The movement and shooting played smoothly. My least favorite part was waiting for the loading animations and then the longest 3 second cooldown of my life just in order to start the level!
That was fun - the movement felt tight and I always felt in control (crucial for a platformer) - the abundance of animations and sound effects added a very nice polish to it. My only real criticism is the very slow animations between levels. Well done!
Done well) Perhaps the run could be made automatic, at first I forgot about it a little = D
It's was a good experience ! The game is really "juicy" and the arcade style is pretty cool ! Transition pizzaaa !
Fun game! The level design was really great. I liked how the doors would only open one direction, but it took me a little while to realize that, so I think adding some instructions explaining that would help.
very funky game I like it, it took me sometime to understand the mechanics but it was enjoyable planing my path just to realize I forget one darn door and doing it all again lol, I also like how you made a fun game out of a simple idea with simple mechanics that's what game jams are all about, good job!
some criticism: - it's hard to read the signs in the first level because of the timer, I know that the time pressure is low on first level but I feel like people will see the timer and just go for the door - the time gap between finishing one level and playing the next is ready big, it's about 10 seconds of waiting for the 2 transitions and the start timer, I wish it was faster, for example you may want to remove the timer or make it go faster.
other than that I think the game is good!
@0x-void-x0 Thank you for the in depth response! I do plan on working on this more so later today I will post a update and attempt to fix those criticisms!
Your sound design was fun, it keep me smiling during levels. Good controls for me, maybe a little be hard to understand what to do at first but the fun was here! Thank you for that game
The level of polish is really excellent, with the menus and transitions being fantastic! I don't think I ever figured out the one-way doors which seemed to open only when the character was moving, so I would jump for ones in the ground to go down. I found the gameplay fun, although sometimes it could get more frustrating when I knew what to do but would miss a couple times and know I would fail. I would prefer a scoring/grading system, to failing when running out of time. Even if you gated progression on finishing under a certain time, finishing the run would at least allow off-clock practice and a certain feeling of completion. Thanks for delivering this great game!

The feel of the game and the style really feels consistent. You rarely see somebody putting effort into styling the menu and the fades between scenes. This gives this whole project an extremely polished feel. The game play loop is a lot of fun and not too frustrating, yet challenging. Great effort on every front.

That game was REALLY fun! Level 5 was hard, but I made it to the end. After clicking next level after level 7 I just got a black screen, not sure if that was intended or a bug? The guy's idle animation is simple, but great. Overall, one of my favorite entries I played this year.
