love the gameboy aesthetic , i also love how the asteroid can move backward and forward mid flight lol, but overall well done !
i love the art style
Super pretty game! Only complaint is that the result of two asteroids colliding felt very inconsistent and unpredictable. But maybe this is simply a part of the game's nature.
Really nice style, nails that game boy look
@m8rix When asteroids are colliding, their velocity's direction is flipped, so their movement should be predictable. However, It is not really natural so it could have been the cause of your feeling.
it was hard with a non-qwerty keyboard, maybe it needs arrow implementation. good job
Cute planets)
@tontonpizza I've forgotten to take other keyboard layouts into consideration. I will try to add build with arrows as a controls as soon as possible.
Edit: I've published version of the game with arrow keys controls.
This is a fairly simple game. but it's well put together for what it is. I like how the asteroids bounce off of each other, creating a chaotic and dynamic environment. The Game Boy inspired monochrome aesthetic is neat, although it would be nice if you could make the window a bit bigger. Overall, is a fairly bare bones game, but it's solid for what it is, and I certainly had fun playing it. Good job!
Nice style! Really like the gameboy look.
This is a classic, very cool art style like fryderider says brings back memoirs of my game boy. The Theme is in my opinion well used which is huge amount of :clap:s, 39 :clap:s in total Well done Bud.
The aesthetics is awesome and it's a lot of fun
Good take on the gameboy aesthetic, scaling the game up would have been better though, it's too small in my opinion ^^ Other than that, solid asteroid game with nice graphics, I liked it. You should add a few sounds though :D
Great visuals and mood. But needs more depth! Definitively need more content.
A solid entry for this LD :) Like the others, I like the gameboy aesthetics, even if I think your game could have had some more animations or more unique sprites, and being able to scale up the window would have been nice ^^
Other than that, it's simple and works well. Too bad there's no audio though! Good job anyway :)
Well, you really meta-themed here! But seriously, while I understand the desire to stay true to the gameboy resolution, _please_ allow users to change the screen size. Especially on my HDPI screen, this window is sooooo ridiculously small. I could hardly see what I was doing! Otherwise, a nice take on a classic formula. Would have loved to see more in gameplay diversifiers, and perhaps some audio. Nice entry.
Nice game!
This game establishes a nice mood with it's graphics. It also feels fairly smooth, despite the retro aesthetic.
Beautiful. Actually I was close to make yet another entry with GameBoy aesthetics but I had to promise my wife I did something with color this time :-)
Yes please give us some window scaling and also it would feel better if the bomb blew away all of them. There was a situation where on of the asteroids that was left over killed me and afterwards I kept resisting taking too much risk to reach a bomb.
love the art style and how simple your game is.
This is great ! The art is really cute, and the gameplay is simple but very fun ! I was not sure about the ultra low resolution at first, but I quickly got used to it. It has a neat retro feeling. Good work !
Finally all of the time spent playing Touhou is paying off :D Fun game with good graphics!
Dude, I love your game!! It pretty simple, and I love the graphism. Pretty simple and inspired of the old gameboy, reminds me of my childhood :D I could understand the mechanics so easily but man! That's .. I have no word to describe this. Just two problem, you should have made a greater screen or making possible to resize it, and I try to press the spacebar on the menu instead or Enter/Return keys.
I'm a sucker for everything gameboy styled, so you have a <3 from me
I sort of like that the asteroids have some physics, and can bump into one another, I did see two getting stuck on each other at the edge of the screen for some period of time.
While it's fun, and the controls are smooth, it sometimes felt to me like the hitbox is too large (which probably means it's actually fair, but a lot of games fudge these things in favour of the player in-order to make it _feel_ fair as well).
The retro-graphics and tiny window make this one stand out a bit (an a good way!), but ultimately, there's not a lot I haven't seen before.
Try adding some sound-effects/music/screenshake, see how it livens up the game! :-) For quick SFX generation (allow during compo as well), you could for example use [this site](https://www.bfxr.net/).
I did almost miss the clever take on the theme (I'm a bit slow today), but luckily I saw a comment pointing it out!
