Really neat idea for a game! I get 60 Seconds vibes from the day-by-day strategic survival setup, and the design of the characters/sounds are very satisfying! I was a little confused with the adventuring mechanic, as it said I needed a green guy and I didn't get any rewards from adventuring when I tried, and I also failed to reproduce any green guys, so I wasn't sure how to actually progress.

The game is super complete, the combinations are really fun to make. the creatures are super original and the gameplay loop works really well. I had trouble getting very far, the mousetrap is a pretty funny concept.
I loved the sounds of the goobers, so cute !

This was a fun game! It was interesting to balance all of the needs and abilities of the Goobers. Cute aesthetic and funny environment to unlock. It took a while but we finally escaped!

Loved discovering new types of goobers and exploring. Unfortunately I couldn't help them escape :,) Really fun game and really complete. Great work!

Oh I love this game. I love that the game somewhat resembles the concept of natural selection. The player has to choose between reproducing and getting more food. First time I was playing I thought I needed five very basic Goobers to escape to freedom cause the advanture label shows five basic Goobers. I was trying to reproduce basic Goobers that at somepoint I had population 100 and then quickly lost. I was able to escape the second time since I realize you don't need basic Goobers to escape. Very fun game! I love it.
I spent a good hour playing your game! I had a good time. It was fun discovering all the different goobers. I did eventually look at the cheat sheet when I forgot some combos. It took me about 5 attempts on the exit door to finally get through. Props to this team. Really great work!
I really liked it, I love the small bits of jokes in it like the boxing team poster and how the goobers look LOL
I only tried once, but sadly, the five goobers I had sent to the exit door had failed and died and I was kinda hoping on that working. So close.
Really good job, though! It was fun!

This game was a long one. Very impressive for a jam. I like the humor like the gun mouse trap. I like how this game played and the concept. Honestly I didn't finish it but it is a solid entry. The art is great and it worked well. Great work!
This game is incredible. I loved everything about it. The art was amazing. I didn't manage to escape but i will come back and try and complete it. I loved exploring and reading all of the posters around the map hahah

The game turned out to be incredibly exciting! I really enjoyed exploring the world and discovering new "goobers" - each of them is unique and funny! 😂 Balancing between the needs and capabilities of the characters adds a great strategic component. 🧠 The art looks amazing, and the music and sounds only enhance the atmosphere. The game is so interesting that you want to go back and try again! 🚪💡 Great job! 👏
I did not know what to expect of this game but I am seriously hooked on freeing my goobers and seeing which breed I will develop next! The sound effects added so much to the game as well, amazing job!
I think it would have been more fun if there was a way to show what breeding combinations are possible.

@brain-siege-gameworks Thanks for the feedback! Initially we thought discovering the new varieties would just be fun, but realized a bit too late that it can get really challenging, especially if you run out of what you need to make the goobers you need to win. The full breeding chart is linked in the description above.

Just finished your game. I guess my friend and me played for about an hour. Didn't expect that from a Game Jam product. :D
The different areas are awesome! We wanted to explore everything. The nice little details (I won't spoil anything) are great. We really got addicted to find every possible combination of the Goobers.
We didn't look at your sprite sheet till the end, because we wanted to discover everything by ourselves. We thought that loosing a "red Goober" would dead lock us. We think it would be nice in the introduction to at least show that you can always produce the basic three Goobers with the blue Goobers as shown in this elaborate Paint picture. ;)

One question regarding the winning screen: Did you run out of time, because the picture does not match the graphics and quality of the whole game or did you chose it on purpose?
The "poison area" was a good mechanic, to get rid of unwanted Goobers. I felt a little bit bad killing them. :D The graphics were great and we like the style of the little Goobers. Really good job!

@lllarso Wow so glad you and your friend enjoyed it!
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, it’s a good idea. It is very difficult to discover a way back into the game if things go wrong and your idea or similar would help.
The win screen being a photo as well as the slightly different art style in the view you get of the outdoors from inside the lobby are different styles on purpose. We wanted to contrast the dark, oppressing corporate/lab environment with the freedom of the outdoors. We also we were short time. :)
So cute! The concept was easy to understand and pickup and kept me engaged! Everything was really intuitive. Sad all my Goobers died.
I'm very impressed by the scale of this entry! Exploring these puzzle/management mechanics was a good time - there's good potential there, methinks ;)

@rufenerd Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the answer! Are you planning to develop this game any further or designing new levels/areas? If you do, I'll check it out in the future. :)

It’s a unique approach to the theme, and the visuals make it even more immersive. God Job!
Very cool. I like the environmental storytelling that unfolds as you explore the rooms.
This game is amazing! I think the word “creature” feels way more fitting for experiments like that than “animals”, though both are valid. Being an army of experiments trying to escape is such a fun idea; I haven't seen a game like this in the competition. Also, having sex and seeing what comes out of there is a great experience, everyone should do it! And I love the unique designs of the little monsters; they are really cute and funny! So overall, well done! It’s a fantastic game!
Wow, impressive work on this entry! I couldn't save them :-( but loved the mood and polish of the game.

Funny, original and nice !
I just didn't understand how to get the ending screen. There was the exit door which expected 5 goobers. I send all the troops I had in my hand, but it failed. Anyway, I loved the progressive exploration, the food management and all the reproductions.
That would have been nice to show somewhere the reproduction combinations, while I discover them one by one. I had a hard time finding the opener, because I was trying combinations, forgetting I tried them, retrying them, etc.
The poison seemed useless, but it was really useful to get rid of some stupid goobers.
I loved all the "narrative environment" too: the posters, the notes, etc.

@recher thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)
The ending requires five goobers to survive the lobby door. So if you send that many but some of them die due to the danger of the door, you don't succeed. you need either a very big hand, or some of the protective goobers to prevent death. We definitely could have communicated it more clearly though; the win was just one of the last things we completed.
Agreed on showing breeding combinations once they've been discovered! We may release a post-jam version with some features like that we couldn't fit :)

Great game, nice matching with theme, keep going
Enjoyed the game. I got SOOOOO close to finishing it twice, but they little goobers just would NOT match up right for me and starved both times. Sooooo close. Great job!
