I tried, I died, but that's life (great game !)
It was a bit complicated first, but after 2 attempts, I managed to survive a bit longer! Good idea with the repair and decoy mecanics!
I love the pun in the title.
I spawned a bunch of bacteria, but they all got eaten :-(
Insanely polished game. You guys nailed it within 3 days. The game is a lil hard for starters tho, there is also no tutorial given the difficulty.
I die so easily, but cell la vie LOL.
Was a pretty interesting game! was a bit confused at what i was doing for a bit, but i think i got the hang of it hahaha
Cool game you got here! Reminds me a lot of Spore. I find the pacing is just a tad too slow, I never felt any real challenge. You have a great artistic style going on here though, it feels very "right" for this type of game. Well done! :)
Nice game, mechanics are easy to pick up and I enjoyed the ambience. I think maybe some more bacteria types would have been good though... maybe some collector bacteria? Or a way to upgrade your cell to produce bacteria faster. Overall though, nice job.
v1.1 on itch contains updated tutorial and help, the rest of the game mechanics are unchanged. Thanks for the feedback so far :) Original v1.0 still available.
Nice aesthetic. I would have loved to try it but I'm against running java on the Mac :(
I really like this idea. We did not undertake its implementation. I am very glad to see that you have succeeded!
The information summary about the cells is perceived well. If you make it an educational project, it will be very cool. It is necessary.
It's a little bit not intuitive how to act, but it's solved by balance and interface.
The graphics are stunning. These jelly cells and the surrounding is so neat. I made a cell game for one of the previous jams, and I wish I could achieve even close with the visuals :D If I may ask, how exactly you animated the bacterias? Was those the frame animations or something procedural? Didn't figure it out quickly enough in how to play it, but it turned to be a nice... colony simulator I guess? I'm usually leaving much more detailed comments, but this is pretty flawless so I'm not even sure what to comment, sorry :D
@heiden-bzr thanks so much! The wobble is just a shader. The imagine is actually just static with glow/bloom. We played about with a few different ideas, it did look like this at one point

Nice game, the ambience is well done. I id die. I would have personally preferred a bit more dynamic gameplay, especially for an "arcade" game like this. I hoped I would get into a game state where all my bacteria would destroy everything but sadly I lost before that. Great game!
The pun in the title caught my eye, the screenshots piqued my interest, and the gameplay kept me much more engaged than I expected! Really cool to also learn how you did the graphics from your previous comments!
The lack of a tutorial did lead to me stumbling around a bit initially, but as soon as I got the gist of it it was very fun.
Also, guilty of this myself, but maybe a taaad bit too much chromatic aberration :skull:
Good job!
A Java game, wow! What engine is that?
I played the game. Died instantly few times, but managed to play 18 minutes after that. It seems the main trick is to keep damaging myself so the repair cells always follow me and not get destroyed somewhere off screen. All the bacterias merge into one spot and hard to understand how many of them there, I wish they spread out a little. Overall a great entry has some Osmos vibe, but a different game entirely. Love the art and sound work;
Here is my attempt:

@icxon thanks so much for playing & making a video! Really cool to see. We used a library called [LibGdx](https://pages.github.com/). 18 mins is a impressive time, the tracker cells kick in at 16 mins mark which make it really hard. Yeah I think we originally we had it so your little guy's collide with each other but they'd also block you so we changed it a bit. Something that we could play about with more
Woah, such a cool game! Recommending to others
Great atmosphere and mechanics! Took a bit to understand, but once I did, it was really fun. Loved the art and the fact you're using libraries instead of an engine. Gj!
Really nice game, with very solid mechanics and quite polished. It took a little bit for me to understand that there were a couple of icons showing me how many bacteria I had ready and the build queue, but once I realized it was very easy to keep track of everything. Also the audio is great and fits perfectly, contributing to the mood and atmosphere. Really well done!
Absolutely love this. The graphics are amazing, and the ambient soundscape is lovely. So relaxing. The deep *thwump* when cells pop is :fire:
Really high level of polish on everything here. Menus looks great, game looks great, controls and game design are all really refined.
Great entry.
Awesome atmosphere, you really managed to create a great game!
Took me 2 attempts to understand what I was supposed to do, after that I managed to survive a bit longer  Good job!
good game, great aesthetic, overall fun experience!
Very nice game! Everything seems super polished, the game plays a bit slow at first but other than that everything feels complete :)
Great game, nice matching with theme, keep going
