I thought the art was really pretty! The game play was a little confusing. When I died from pollution it felt like it was random and it didn't make sense that the squid made me hungrier, but overall the game was pretty cool and the art was really effective.
Good idea, and nice 3d work. Coral areas were quite interesting.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the gameplay. I felt the world too big for the amount of content in it, so swimming was boring for me. Which is sad, because swimming is what are you supposed to do in the game most of the time. So, after the 3rd bottle spawned even further than the second one, I had to stop playing. Maybe it's just not my genre, though.
I love the atmosphere and how the gameplay works, it's simples to learn, the art is perfect. Great game
@pink-spaceman thank you a lot!
@a333 thanks! We wanted to make it look like a vast ocean, but perhaps we went a bit overboard with that :D The main challenge of the game is that fish gets harder to stumble upon the deeper you go, so long distances are also supposed to make it more challenging this way. We'll balance it in the future, though. Thanks for commenting!
@zachsbutt thank you! We didn't manage to implement a good enough visuals for the pollution mechanic, and it does feel a bit random when you don't even notice the bar rising. The squid makes you hungrier because it's full of plastic and very skinny D: It also makes your pollution bar rise (because of the plastic), and that's what we meant when we said not all fish is equally good for you. But thanks for commenting, we should do it more obvious somehow!
@mero thanks! Long distances are supposed to make it feel more like a vast ocean, with each bottle spawning deeper than the previous one. The deeper you go the less fish you also encounter, so long distances were supposed to become more challenging with each new bottle. We should balance it somehow, though, so thanks for commenting!
An interesting concept, but the playing process was boring
