I can't open the game. Looks cool though

@tinykidtoo I downloaded and tested it again, had no issues opening it. Did you un-zip before running the exe? The FireExit.exe and UnityPlayer.dll should be in the same root folder
The game is terrifying!! First meeting the elf on the stairs makes their later jumpscare feel a bit less impactful, since you’re already somewhat familiar with them, though they’re really well-made. Some of the dialogue can be hard to hear, but the effort still comes through. I really like that the player goes up the stairs instead of down; most horror games do the opposite. There’s a good amount of creative ways to scare the player. The animation is amazing, and the comedy balances really well with the horror. Great job!
I LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE! THIS IS REALLY GREAT, AND U DID A REALLY GOOD WORK FOR THIS THEME!
I was expecting a game like Exit 8 from the sign at the beginning, but this is really cool! A few things that could improve it: - More floor events, I know its a gamejam and there isn't much time but it definitely felt like there were long-ish empty moments where the only thing happening is the falling guys - Less random weird noises, more ambient noises. The weirdness should be confined to when stuff is actually happening, and the ambience could use some sounds like wind, or faraway screaming and such :)
Otherwise it's a simple game that does what it does really well! I didn't think i'd actually walk all 70-something floors lol
Scary and funny, i love that. Also the ending lol
Great job! This is the scariest LD game I've played to date. Those stupid falling guys made me jump more than I'll admit to lol
I liked the idea, but there are many floors where nothing happens, this endless turn makes your hands hurt. I agree with the comments above about the slightly quiet voice acting, but I appreciated the humor
Wow! Just awesome work! So solid short horror experience in 3 days - that's super impressive. I enjoyed it a lot. Loved all those short encounters I faced while climbing the ladder, some of them really caused goose bumps. And at the same time the game manages to be funny with all that elfs staff and ending scene song xD
This was really cool and atmospheric! Lots of fun stuff on the way and I really liked the visuals! Great job :)
I started to get bored at first, but I pushed a few more flights up and I'm glad I stuck with it! The game got a lot more interesting, and the end bits were funny!
Horror and comedy always go well together. Loved the voice work. Great jam entry and a great take on the depth's theme!
OMG! What a rollarcoaster! the plot twist at the end gave me goosebumps! Well done yall!
I didn't think I'd have fun playing a horror game. Excellent work and excellent disclosure of the topic of depth
A scary and funny little game. A bit long between action, but overall a pretty well made game. Well done.
Great atmosphere and graphics. I love games like this!
The ending was an instant 5 star for humor lol
Yooo! The 3D too cool for a game that took 3 days to develop. Great job! 💪
very crippy, going upwards is definatly a good idea!
Got something of an SCP vibe, the start and ending are quite different in terms of how much you're into the game. Cool horror entry :).
What an adventure! Maybe the best experience i had playing a game on ldjam. I feel like I just got out a movie theather. Thank you !
Unfortunately this barely ran on my old laptop. The visuals were neat, though! I wish the fire made more of a sound.
Very scary...
Nice entry! Moment with "No peaking" made me jump IRL.
Well, that is "Tom Odell-Here I Am" music video if director was on drugs) anyway intersting, funny overall)
It was nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time, it's a great jam game.
Hmm. well, surfing is a lifestyle. The party never stops. great work.
This game builds up an insane amount of tension… even though not much is actually happening, and the only threats that do appear are… kinda cute? 😅 I even jumped at a shadow at one point — great job on the atmosphere!
Hahaha!!! I had a lot of fun playing this psychedelic trip!! :D Thanks a lot for such expirience! :)
Where is the button to add to favorites...
I fell sooooooooooo far down. Wish I could have walked around in the oasis. Awesome graphics, mood, and sound design.
ok wow, the person who wrote "don't trust elves" really had a point! I found this game quite scary actually, I am easily spooked though, but it was the building up tension for such a long time. It's similar to how in the horror game Amnesia, not much "scary" things happen in the beginning, but you know something bad is coming and the anticipation of that makes you sit at the edge of your seat.
You do a great job at making everything feel unsettling, almost like the uncanny valley effect. A great example is when you start looping door nr 25. It was such a cool effect that when I after a while figured "maybe I'm supposed to turn" you see that the number has incremented behind you.
I kept thinking the game would end, and then it just kept getting stranger, spookier and more mind-bending. I really like when you reach the top and realize this is the "end of the line". It hits you that you have to jump just like the "jump scares" of people falling down.
After that it just got even scarier and more disturbing. I was freaking out when I was stuck in that room with the "touch us" text, certain there was some kind of monster that would eat me haha.
When I started climbing back up and heard the elf say "I'm going to die here... and so are you", that was a great "ah fuck me"-moment. After a few more jump scares (I hate elves now), I reached the cruel ending where I knew I was not getting out, but I was still scared when that little elf pushed me down.
What I mean with all of my rambling is that the game was great, I had a blast and got genuinely scared
Oh my gosh! Thank goodness I didn’t have to climb up with my own two feet, I probably wouldn’t have made it))))) Great take on the theme! Everything is nicely balanced — just when I start getting tired of the repetitive visuals and feel dizzy, that thing appears, and you forget everything before and rush upward again. Well done — best of luck to you!
That was a great spooky/funny entry! I think your screenshots captivated me to play. The visuals were great, but the sound design was amazing at creating that spooky vibe. It relied a bit heavy on jump scares, but at least you gave a few easy to handle jump scares before dropping in bigger ones later on.
Played your game on the 4/20 stream! Was a coughing mess through a good bit of it for no particular reason but we had a good time! Overall it's quite well put together and I loved the smoking elf as well as the big fleshy goop monster

Both funny and a little scary. I loved how each floor introduced new mechanics and events, and figuring out when to pivot was especially fun.
Design, atmosphere, and music are spot-on.
The ending—my respects. I half-expected something like that, yet I still stared at the screen in astonishment :D
Thanks a ton! (Though… in a fire don’t you usually run down, not up?)
